A democratic acquaintance recently visited with me and asked a question.
“How do you determine whether or not an older person should be put in an old folks home?”
“Well,” I said, “let me fill up the bathtub, then I will offer you a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to empty the bathtub.”
“Oh, I understand,” He said. “Any normal person would use the bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.”
“No” I said. “A normal person would pull the plug.
I suggest you should ask for a bed near the window when you check in!
