AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL NFL PLAYERS

You graduated high school in 2011.  Your teenage years were a struggle.  You grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.  Your mother was the leader of the family and worked tirelessly to keep a roof over your head and food on your plate.  Academics were a struggle for you and your grades were mediocre at best. The only thing that made you stand out is you weighed 225 lbs and could run 40 yards in 4.2 seconds while carrying a football.

Your best friend was just like you, except he didn’t play football.  Instead of going to football practice after school, he went to work at McDonalds for minimum wage.  You were recruited by all the big colleges and spent every weekend of your senior year making visits to universities where coaches and boosters tried to convince you their school was best.  They laid out the red carpet for you. Your best friend worked double shifts at Mickey D’s.  College was not an option for him.

On the day you signed with Big State University, your best friend signed paperwork with his Army recruiter.  You went to summer workouts.  He went to basic training.

You spent the next four years living in the athletic dorm, eating at the training table. You spent your Saturdays on the football field, cheered on by adoring fans.  Tutors attended to your every academic need.  You attended class when you felt like it. Sure, you worked hard.  You lifted weights, ran sprints, studied plays, and soon became one of the top football players in the country.  Your best friend was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division.. While you were in college, he deployed to Iraq once and Afghanistan twice.  He became a Sergeant and led a squad of 19 year old soldiers who grew up just like he did.  He shed his blood in Afghanistan and watched young American’s give their lives, limbs, and innocence for the USA.

You went to the NFL combine and scored off the charts.  You hired an agent and waited for draft day.  You were drafted in the first round and your agent immediately went to work, ensuring that you received the most money possible. You signed for $16 million although you had never played a single down of professional football.  Your best friend re-enlisted in the Army for four more years. As a combat tested sergeant, he will be paid $32,000 per year.

You will drive a Ferrari on the streets of South Beach.  He will ride in the back of a Blackhawk helicopter with 10 other combat loaded soldiers.  You will sleep at the Ritz.  He will dig a hole in the ground and try to sleep.  You will “make it rain” in the club.  He will pray for rain as the temperature reaches 120 degrees.

On Sunday, you will run into a stadium as tens of thousands of fans cheer and yell your name.  For your best friend, there is little difference between Sunday and any other day of the week.  There are no adoring fans.  There are only people trying to kill him and his soldiers. Every now and then, he and his soldiers leave the front lines and “go to the rear” to rest.  He might be lucky enough to catch an NFL game on TV.  When the National Anthem plays and you take a knee, he will jump to his feet and salute the television.  While you protest the unfairness of life in the United States, he will give thanks to God that he has the honor of defending his great country.

To the players of the NFL:  We are the people who buy your tickets, watch you on TV, and wear your jerseys.  We anxiously wait for Sundays so we can cheer for you and marvel at your athleticism. Although we love to watch you play, we care little about your opinions until you offend us. You have the absolute right to express yourselves, but we have the absolute right to boycott you.  We have tolerated your drug use and DUIs, your domestic violence, and your vulgar displays of wealth.  We should be ashamed for putting our admiration of your physical skills before what is morally right.  But now you have gone too far. You have insulted our flag, our country, our soldiers, our police officers, and our veterans. You are living the American dream, yet you disparage our great country.  I am done with NFL football and encourage all like minded Americans to boycott the NFL as well.

National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, Veterans Day Weekend. Boycott all football telecast, all fans, all ticket holders, stay away from attending any games, let them play to empty stadiums. Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.

ANON

My thanks to my friends, Barbara and Jack Crain for sharing this excellent comparison of one real American and a ingrate who is as dumb as a rock and available to just follow the Demoncrats blindly. By the age of 50, this once wealthy football hero, if he is still alive will be broke and likely incarcerated in a State prison.     C Brewer

I shared this with at least 800 people, will you?   CB

ROMNEY RUNNING WILD AT WARP SPEED

I always respected Mitt Romney for his patience, character, demeanor, stature and a supposed assumption he was intelligent. He may well be a genius at being a good Mormon but at politics he proved he was a total failure four years ago.

These past few days make me suspect he is totally losing his mind. If someone can reel him in he will be known in history as the individual that destroyed the Republican Party. If he can’t understand the damage he is rabidly racing to destroy the Grand Old Party (GOP), someone needs to shake him up. Uncontrolled he is making it a certainty we will see Hillary elected and finalize set the plan to make America a Socialists Democracy similar to those in Europe.

If Hillary ends up in prison, which is where she belongs, old Bernie will then be elected and we will see bankruptcy before Socialism. Bernie is a flower child from the 1960’s and drugs appear to have fried his brain a long time ago. As Vermont keeps electing him, the entire State must have smoked the same pipe. The only thing that saved Hillary from drugs then was she was stuck in Arkansas where everyone was kin to each other back then and could not afford a pipe or the weed.

Mr. Romney, the certain thing that will change the course of history is replacements for the Supreme “Political” Court. One is a replacement for Scalia which will happen early next year will set Socialism in motion to radically remove more freedoms first. When John Roberts, Clarence Thomas or Samuel Alito retire or die, as most do, the next Progressive/Liberal/Socialist replacement will result in elimination of our Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Bear Arms and Freedom of Religion that Obama did not finish. THE Court will also likely eliminate our right for Freedom to Assemble. Unless we have until another civil war in America to regain our lost freedoms America will become a Muslim controlled country by 2050 and Sharia Law will be imposed.

If I am right God save my family as I will be a forgotten old veteran who lived the American dream of success.

It is nearly unbearable for me to watch Mitt Romney on his hell-bent crusade to destroy the GOP. Even a madman like Obama could not believe that the gift of the White House for four more years would be that easy even though he probably hates Hillary as much as Cruz does.

Obama knows that if either Hillary or Bernie win they will be blamed for the certain financial meltdown we face. He has not endorsed either one and is waiting to see if Hillary is indicted before he has to commit. Should she be charged it will be easy to back Bernie who is dumber than a “dip-stick”. Obama know that total financial failure is more certain with Bernie than Hillary. What puzzles me is why he is blocking the Justice Department from charging Hillary with crimes so evident, a deaf, blind and mute illegal ten-year old knows she broke the law with the personal computer server. The entire leadership of the FBI should be charged with stupidity for believing any sane American could possibly believe her actions were legal or lawful.

I know I am right so God save my family as I will be a forgotten old dead veteran who lived the American dream. Hang on ladies and our welfare army before America self-implodes, ending over 200 plus years being the envy of the world. You can only blame yourselves. C Brewer 5-16-15

SAVE FOR THE FUTURE, WHY?

My father lost all of his savings when the banks failed in the 1930’s. Never the less he taught me to aim my sights on saving for my future. There was no social security when I was born in 1930. I got my card in 1938 when I helped a blind man in a news stand at 8 years old. Americans then and now who planned for social security to provide their retirement income are mentally imbalanced.

We did not have much when I grew up but neither did our neighbors. It took me most of my life to accumulate enough savings to retire in 1994 and I have deeply enjoyed my last 17+ years. When the economy in 2008/2009 tanked it wiped out some 30% of my savings. When the second wave hit a few weeks ago I had been able to regain about 80% of my losses and the axe fell again.

Having more than my share of children and grand children to advise like my father, I also urged them to avoid some of the bells and whistles and save for their future. Nothing could be worse for me than have to rely on my heirs to get me through old age. I imagine I am not alone in my feelings. I never had to support my parents and they made it to 83 and 94 by themselves. My dad never owned his own home or a plot of land but he was happy. When my mother died at 94 she has enough resources to cover her funeral with little to spare. No one ever left me anything and nothing was expected.

When the economic downturn came I got calls from my children for advice on protecting their savings as some had followed my advice. They were aware that my savings had been depleted and expected council on what to do.

Looking back on traveling all over the world to be successful, including over 2500 nights in hotels the last ten years I worked. This work was in 32 countries and 49 states and countless flights from 9 to 16 hours in the air. I have suddenly decided my decision to provide for my retirement was possibly flawed. In addition to losing some 25% of my savings value, inflation has diminished my buying power significantly. Why?

I go to the grocery store and stand behind fully able people use food stamps, yet they have I phones, nice clothes, a decent car and usually with a handicapped parking permit. I have paid income taxes all of my life to support their lifestyles. Why?

I watch my children scrape by to make sure their kids get more education by borrowing and I have helped some of my grand children get student loans as a co-signer. Then I study how Pell grants and reduced tuition is available for those who will not work and a President and many in Congress who are proposing that the government pay to educate illegal aliens for a path to citizenship. Why?

I do not know how other successful Americans feel about busting their buns to share the wealth but I am mad as hell. Watching the politicians discover new ways to rob us of our savings to support people who won’t work is not the American dream I told my kids to seek.

I feel that our Congress and President have an obligation to serve all Americans. They pamper the very people that keep them in power by buying their votes. They spend more money finding dead people to vote for them than they do to actually help anybody.

I suppose I should tell my family to just spend all you have and when you are out of money the government will take care of you. Kids get free meals, families get free food stamps, free healthcare and free education if you do not have any resources. If this is the American way then I am glad my days are nearly over. The progressives have ruined this great country and the majority of the people really do not even care. Why? There is no longer the incentive to be successful as Washington will find a way to take your savings one way or another. Why should anyone save for the future if they have to share with those who refuse to even try to be successful? Home ownership savings have been destroyed for the next several generations by greedy politicians.

I encourage anyone to challenge my positions with facts. I hope someone out there can tell me what to tell my children about investing for their future. My good friend, Tadpole, told me to invest in gold. Those who put their life savings in gold will have their savings wiped out; it’s just a matter of time. The people will awaken someday and demand that Congress and the President stop the ill fated path to a Socialist Democracy. Decent people will always hopefully desire to have a better life without using someone else’s money.

FREEDOM- A “RIGHT” ALL AMERICANS SHOULD UNDERSTAND

I received the following message from a friend and decided to post it on my blog. It would be nice if everyone that reads this would pass it on to every American alive. I lost my only brother as a result of this war. I wish that he and all of the other American military who suffered the anguish and humiliation during this sad period in our history could see that we did accomplish something wonderful. It would be nice to see all Americans understand what freedom really means and the suffering it takes to protect our way of life. Unfortunately the leadership in America today is slowly destroying the dreams of those who created the most successful Republic in all of mans history.  C Brewer

HOW ONE IMMIGRANT APPRECIATES AMERICA

Last year the town of Prescott Valley, AZ, hosted a Freedom Rally. Quang Nguyen was asked to speak on his experience of coming to America and what it means.  He spoke the following in dedication to all Vietnam Veterans. Most will enjoy what he had to say.

SPEECH

“35 years ago, if you were to tell me that I am going to stand up here speaking to a couple thousand patriots, in English, I’d laugh at you.  Man, every morning I wake up thanking God for putting me and my family in the greatest country on earth….. America.

I just want you all to know that the American dream does exist and I am living the American dream.  I was asked to speak to you about my experience as a first generation Vietnamese- American, but I’d rather speak to you as an American.

If you hadn’t noticed, I am not white and I feel pretty comfortable with my people.

I am a proud US citizen and here is my proof:  It took me 8 years to get it, waiting in endless lines, but I got it and I am very proud of it.

I still remember the images of the Tet offensive in 1968, I was six years old.  Now you might want to question how a 6-year-old boy could remember anything.  Trust me, those images can never be erased.  I can’t even imagine what it was like for young American soldiers, 10,000 miles away from home, fighting on my behalf.

35 years ago, I left South Vietnam for political asylum.  The war had ended.  At the age of 13, I left with the understanding that I may or may not ever get to see my siblings or parents again.  I was one of the first lucky 100,000 Vietnamese allowed to come to the US.  Somehow, my family and I were reunited 5 months later, amazingly, in California.  It was a miracle from God.

If you haven’t heard lately that this is the greatest country on earth, I am telling you that right now.  It was the freedom and the opportunities presented to me that put me here with all of you tonight.  I also remember the barriers that I had to overcome every step of the way.  My high school counselor told me that I cannot make it to college due to my poor communication skills.  I proved him wrong.  I finished college.  You see, all you have to do is to give this little boy an opportunity and encourage him to take and run with it.  Well, I took the opportunity and here I am.

This person standing tonight in front of you could not exist under a socialist/communist environment.  By the way, if you think socialism is the way to go, I am sure many people here will chip in to get you a one-way ticket out of here.  And if you didn’t know, the only difference between socialism and communism is an AK-47 aimed at your head.  That was my experience.

In 1982, I stood with a thousand new immigrants, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and listening to the National Anthem for the first time as an American.  To this day, I can’t remember anything sweeter and more patriotic than that moment in my life.

Fast forwarding, somehow I finished high school, finished college, and like any other goofball 21 year old kid, I was having a great time with my life.  I had a nice job and a nice apartment in Southern California.  In someway and somehow, I had forgotten how I got here and why I was here.

One day I was at a gas station, I saw a veteran pumping gas on the other side of the island.  I don’t know what made me do it, but I walked over and asked if he had served in Vietnam.  He smiled and said yes.  I shook and held his hand.  The grown man began to well up.  I walked away as fast as I could and at that very moment, I was emotionally rocked.  This was a profound moment in my life.  I knew something had to change in my life.  It was time for me to learn how to be a good citizen.  It was time for me to give back.

You see, America is not a place on the map.  It isn’t a physical location.  It is an ideal, a concept.  And if you are an American, you must understand the concept, you must buy into this concept, and most importantly, you have to fight and defend this concept.  This is about Freedom and NOT free stuff.  And that is why I am standing up here.

Brothers and sisters, to be a real American, the very least you must do is to learn English and understand it well.  In my humble opinion, you cannot be a faithful patriotic citizen if you can’t speak the language of the country you live in.  Take this document of 46 pages – last I looked on the Internet, there wasn’t a Vietnamese translation of the US Constitution. It took me a long time to get to the point of being able to converse and until this day, I still struggle to come up with the right words.  It’s not easy, but if it’s too easy, it’s not worth doing.

Before I knew this 46-page document, I learned of the 500,000 Americans who fought for this little boy.  I learned of the 58,000 names inscribed on the black wall at the Vietnam Memorial.  You are my heroes.  You are my founders.

At this time, I would like to ask all the Vietnam veterans to please stand.  I thank you for my life.  I thank you for your sacrifices, and I thank you for giving me the freedom and liberty I have today.  I now ask all veterans, firefighters, and police officers, to please stand.  On behalf of all first generation immigrants, I thank you for your services and may God bless you all”.

QUANG NGUYEN

Please take note he never used the term Vietnamese American. If all other naturalized citizens would just become “Americans” the resentment would subside. If they continue to demand that we change our history and our way of life we will never have harmony. If they can’t adjust then why did they come other than to overthrow our government?    C. Brewer
