These 11 States now have More People on Welfare than they do Employed!!!

Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2012, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. Household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support. What’s the problem with that much support?  Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day.

To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for 40 hour week, while the average job pays $20.00 an hour.

Furthermore:  There are actually two messages here. The first is very interesting, but the second is absolutely astounding – and explains a lot.  A recent “Investor’s Business Daily” article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.

Percentage (%) of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:

U.S. 65%,  England   46%,  Canada   42%

% of patients diagnosed with diabetes -received treatment within 6 months:

U.S. 93%,   England  15%,  Canada 43%

% of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:

U.S.   90%,   England  15%,  Canada 43%

% referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:

U.S.   77%,   England   40%,  Canada   43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:

How can the president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he’s never worked for one? Or about jobs when he has never really had one? And, when it’s the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers?

They’ve spent most of their time in academia, government, and/or non-profit jobs. Or…   As “community organizers.”

No wonder we are going broke as profit is not a requirement for government service. By the way common sense is the factor that seems to be the missing element. It would be nice to see similar statistics for the 535 members of congress who have gone stark raving mad spending money we don’t have.

DONALD TRUMP – PART TWO

Donald Trump has captured my attention deeper than any human I ever voted for since Ronald Regan. I was skeptical of Reagan at first because of his being Governor of LaLa land, the home of fruits and nuts. What he did for America has steadily been destroyed by Bush, Clinton, Bush and totally wrecked by Obama. I can’t bring myself to address Obama as Mr. or President as I have absolutely no respect for him as a man or what he has done to destroy our Constitution and States Rights.

Do I like Donald Trump? Liking him is not a leadership factor and I have never met the man. What I do respect is his proven no-nonsense leadership and a burning desire to clean up the out-of-control mess in Washington. Several of the others say they will do the same but only one, Ted Cruz, has the determination to do what the Donald has promised. Cruz will never get the nomination as he no big money supporters and will not be able to buy the nomination. He would make the perfect replacement for Joe Biden and be President after he and the Donald shake up America like it has never been done before. Everyone in politics and the sugar daddies, Soros, Buffett, the Koch’s and hundreds more who actually run the government  are scared to death of the Donald and Cruz.  In this series I am working on you will see facts that many didn’t know about him, including me..

Some love Trump and far too many spew hate but no one can deny he is thought-provoking, and clearly deserves a chance to be the Republican nominee. I hope you will read all of the articles I am working on before you write Trump off. He is abrasive and unfortunately he is the enemy of all of the others running, except Cruz.  Remember how the politicians made fun of Ronald Reagan. Reagan did not have to combat the Republicans and the 100% negative press by the networks who all also hate his guts, including Fox. 

Trump has stirred up the RINOs, like McCain, Graham, Boehner, McConnell and many more. This will be obvious in the evident during the GOP debates ( really donkey barbecues)  that are underway today. What is so obvious are the charges made and the criticisms of Trump that are amazingly unproven cheap shots. So far the Republicans, Democrats or the rabid major networks can’t find any ​negative facts from his employees or others who have done business with him. Rest assured they will dig up dirt and any highly successful person will make enemies from the zealousness of losers and ex-wives. 

I just read a great article that related some facts about the Donald that impressed me deeply, I will share them with you. “His long-term employees call him a strong and merciful leader and say he is far more righteous and of high integrity​ than people may think​. While it may surprise many, he’s actually humble when it comes to his generosity and kindness. A good example is a story that tells of his limo breaking down on a deserted highway outside of New York City. A middle-aged couple stopped to help him and as a thank you he paid off their mortgage, but he didn’t brag about it”. Generous and good people rarely discuss any charity they bestow on others”. Take the time to absorb some on the “facts” you will read. I will start off with his position regarding the military.

Trump has no desire to take military action in any other country’s problems unless we are compensated for doing so. Risking our military lives or incurring major expenditures must also be compensated.  He has cited that the Iraq War was a huge monetary expense to American taxpayers (over $1.5 trillion, and possibly much more depending on what sources are used. The loss of American lives can never be compensated and the loss of Iraqi lives was horrible. Trump has made it clear that Iraq should have been required to compensate America with oil for all of the expenses we incurred. Trump added another debt that Iraq should pay for, includes the medical costs for our military and $5 million for each family that lost a loved one in the war and $2 million for each family of soldiers who received severe injuries. How many of you knew this? I did not.

Trump is committed that America must have a strong military again. His number one priority for the federal government is national defense. He has stated that we need to groom military leaders like General Patton or General MacArthur to rebuild our military back to the strength it must be. That’s all for today, the remaining articles will address how Trump views other issues. The need for an Executive branch of government that will “Kick ass and take names” will be decided in 2016. I hope you will join me in electing Trump/Cruz.

GUN CONTROL or POLITICAL DONATIONS?

It amazes me how the President, Congress and the Washington D.C. valley of Consultants and Hacks believe that all American voters are stupid. Watching the Progressives with money and the Hollywood leaches manipulate Obama and the Senate is like watching Howdy Dowdy Time.

Our Royal President Stages Hollywood type events using children as dupes to further divide our people. He knows that his Gun Control proposals will never be approved by his own Progressives in the Senate. If they awarded an Oscar for the “Best Liar in a Political Address”, Obama would make Clinton look like a Hillbilly from Arkansas.

I realize that my window of opportunity to watch politics is somewhat broader than most. I started to school in 1936 when things were really bad in America. We could pray and we were proud to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school. We never had police or guards in the schools. We did not have or need the ACLU to create chaos at the schools. We did not have television to provide programs that had to be rated for viewing. We had radio and the library to assist the teachers in educating us with decent language. We had commentators which actually presented “ALL” of the news “Fair and Balanced”.

We had guns long before we had “R” Rated movies, age limit ratings and sexually explicit commercials on television. I raised my family before the violent Video games arrived. The violence I remember from my childhood was watching Buster Crabbe and Tom Mix eliminate the bad guys in the movies. My first memory of R rated movies was in my thirties.

I never heard of a school shooting until the event in Colorado shocked the nation just a few years ago. We have had guns long before our forefathers approved the Second Amendment to our Constitution. We had decent language on the radio, TV and the movies for most of the time this country has existed and we still have the same rights of free speech that appeared in the 1700’s.

We used to have a Congress that functioned and protected states and people’s rights. Now their only job is passing out freebies to get re-elected. In 1942 all Americans rallied together with the phrase, “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”. Today all we hear from all politicians is, “Forget the Lord and Pass out more Pork”.

What we have created to make this a better place to live is organizations like the ACLU, ACORN and a Supreme Court that can’t agree on what the same words in our Constitution and Bill of Rights mean. If it is politically incorrect it must be bad. Politics and Money run the world, to hell with the Constitution scream the activists. Even our President says it is outdated.

Now the prime objective of the President and the Senate is “Gun Control” and “Immigration Issues”. After spending four years stuffing Obamacare down our throats they continue to ignore the real problems in America. They now intend to make legal gun ownership illegal. At the same time they intend to make illegal immigrations legal. I really wonder if anyone in Washington will ever face the fact that no “JOBS” was the problem when Obama was elected and it appears now that nothing is planned to address this until 2016.

Just think of the progress we have made in my lifetime. Kids can’t pray in school anymore. You are weird if you are patriotic. You are a threat if you own a gun. We have full police departments in our schools. Talk of arming teachers is being conducted. Politicians will not send their kids to public schools. Your doctor will soon be required to ask you if you own a gun when you get your annual finger wave. WOW we really have progressed haven’t we?

Our President has asked us to be civil, yet he has increased gun ownership during his first four years to over double the number of guns possessed before he was elected to save us from George Bush.

By the way, he has not asked the entertainment industry to stop making violent movies and TV programs that actually teach children how to use guns to actually kill people. It’s funny, I have never seen a commercial or program from the National Rifle Association that shows kids how to kill people but they are being made the enemy, why?

For real gun violence watch your kid’s video games that really show them how to kill with guns, knives, cars and even baseball bats. They rate their performance and encourage them to improve their kill rate scores.

Why were these industries ignored if we really desire to stop violence, “POLITICAL DONATIONS”? Progressives do not get money from the NRA, so trash guns and ignore violence training.

That’s the Obama/Biden/Reed and Polosi way.   

I would be remiss if I did not re-state a previous comment about gun control. To the NRA and the Congressional republicans, “Weapons of war are not required to hunt or protect your family.”  After analyzing Obama’s speech that caused another panic to buy guns and ammunition, I need to add another word to my quote above. Remove the period and add “, yet”.  behind the word family above.

GUN CONTROL or HOW TO INCREASE GUN SALES?

Does anyome besides me have trouble trying to determine Obama’s real objective after his latest news conference this morning? After he armed the Mexican drug dealers one would think he should be more careful arming unhappy freedom loving Americans.

Why do politicians play emotional gymnastics to make sure they can get re-elected? Watching President Obama use children to seek political cover makes me sick. Who in their right mind believe a child wrote the letters he used to build his latest political smokescreen. It is more than obvious to sane people the entire episode today was to increase political pressure to support his executive orders that usurp the Constitution. Why can’t he just be honest one time when he continues his quest to change the rules that will eventually wreck our Republic form of government that he despises?

Being a native Texan I may have some views radically different from others. I joined the Navy at 17 shortly after World War II. I had never owned a gun and had never seen a gun in our family home. I owned a BB gun like most kids in the late 1930’s and early 1940”s. Immediately after Boot Camp, I was assigned to serve in aviation ordinance. For the next two years my daily task was to remove machine guns and cannons from aircraft and clean them and re-install them. Once each month we cleaned every rifle, shotgun and pistol that was used in training at the gun range. This required that each weapon be test fired which usually took one entire day to perform. I probably shot more guns by the time I was 19 than 99% of today’s population.

Over my lifetime I did hunt game birds and deer with weapons that were owned by others. Hunting never provided me with the pleasure that others seemed to enjoy. I have always understood that control of game population is necessary and I have no problem with people legally hunting or fishing. By the way, until the politicians decided to ignore enforcing our laws, we never had serious gun problems or the need to protect ourselves in most of America.

We have no need to have individuals owning guns designed for war or the unnecessary violence we are bombarded with on TV and in the movies. These two things are the reason we have the crime and crazy people problems of today. Everyone knows this and nothing has been done to stop this madness yet. Congress just has no desire to do anything that might get them defeated in the next election.

I retired to live in rural east Texas over 20 years ago where hunting and fishing is expected. Until I retired I never owned a rifle, shotgun or pistol. Having worked in 32 countries and 49 states, I never felt threatened unless I was in New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, Miami, Saudi Arabia, Algeria or Houston. I never felt threatened in Denmark, Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, Canada or Hong Kong just to list a few.   

A few years ago I purchased a single shot 22 children’s rifle. I doubt that many Americans know they make rifles for children. I also bought varmint ammunition as I had no desire or intent to kill anything. Just chase away destructive squirrels that were chewing my wife’s Christmas wiring.

I now own a 410 shotgun, a 22 repeating rifle and a 28 revolver in addition to the single shot 22. I own a box of ammo for each but the only weapon I have ever shot is the children’s 22 rifle. Why, my next door neighbor, who owned a virtual arsenal of every type of gun imaginable and enough ammo to defend a fort, convinced me that I needed to protect my property and life as gun control was imminent.

What prompted me to write this article is that I need to buy a box of 22 Varmint shells. I was preparing to go to the local gun store nearby until I read in the weekly paper that the store had sold every gun and box of ammo they had. It also revealed that they were getting calls from several states to buy guns and ammo that they think that a small town gun shop in the east Texas woods might still have in stock.

This motivated me to possibly put a new twist on the gun control issue. Obama disrupted morning TV again today to create his latest gun crisis that was summarized by his token white Vice President. I wish I had kept track of all the hundreds of crisis events Obama has used to destroy my freedoms.

He has accomplished two new records for America. He has divided the people and appears to desire another civil war to achieve his agenda. He has also been responsible for selling more guns and ammunition to Americans that can be used for civil strife than every other President since Lincoln.

Using children to promote his agenda is the most hypocritical thing he continues to do. This would be viewed as child abuse or violation of child labor laws in most civilized countries. What makes it even worse is these poor children will have to pay for the economic train wreck he is hoping for.

One thing is certain the poor kids he uses as supporters to promote his agenda, will hopefully someday remember that they did not vote for him. What is really scary is, if he could have reduced the voting age to six, he would now be ruler of his own Kingdom instead of a lame duck President. Don’t count him out yet, this may be his next Executive Order?

Hopefully history will recognize that Obama is the slickest con man who ever lived. No wonder Slick Willy is so awe-struck by his performances. Clinton is smart enough to know that Obama will not surpass him when history reports him to even be worse than Carter who barely beat him.

If you are undecided, not on welfare, really don’t care or dead, you need to watch this video over and over again until it soaks in. This is not propaganda it is facts and he does not include the new tax on selling property and the wrecking of both Medicare and Medicaid. Spending and making OPEC rich is the problem and he opposes changing either one. Dick also forgot to mention what super inflation will do when we have to pay the bills. GOVERNMENT GONE TOTALLY MAD!

Watching the news has become the fastest way to increase your pulse. When the recent GSA extravaganza was announced it was no surprise to me. I spent 27 years working on government contracts on hundreds of aviation/space programs. What was a shock was the announcement that the GSA wacko that created this monster was retiring. He pleaded the Fifth Amendment and refused to answer Congressional questions, then was awarded a reported $100,000 a year retirement package. I suppose this removed him from the limelight that interfered with the re-election of Obama and his congressional supporters. It also improved the re-election chances for the Republican’s who support the Pentagon/GSA government waste expenditures.

After my career move to the petroleum industry, I was able to hang a framed adage that was obviously taboo before. It read, “An Elephant is a Mouse that was created on a Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, Government Contract!”

What really increased my blood pressure was the fact that I spent my 27 years and when I elected to receive my pension at age 63, it was $221.47 a month. I feel certain the GSA individual will also get free heath care and other benefits at tax payers’ expense and I received no benefits. 

It is rather obvious that working for the government is the best career path for all Americans who are willing to work for someone else. Two important points are included in this statement:

1. At least they are willing to work, rather than get paid not to work.

2. They have no desire to chase the American dream of owning their own business and create jobs for others.

It took me 32 years of working for someone else to realize that I had not fulfilled my lifelong desire of owning my own business. I had not achieved the goals I had set for myself by serving others. At 53 I charted a new path and created my first company. Over the next 10 years I had saved enough to retire and allow others to seek their destiny.

With Clinton as President my savings actually increased as it had for retirees all of my life. Bush actually started on the path that most retirees had planned for when compound interest at least evened out with increased inflation. This protected your nest egg from erosion.

Then we had the 9-11 disaster that changed the lives of every American. It resulted with the spending frenzy that has wrecked most retired people who had worked hard to provide for themselves. Change was what Obama promised and he has really changed America. In addition to wrecking our investments, he has succeeded in dividing this country by demanding more people be paid for not working than ever before. He has more people on welfare than ever before. He spews hate toward people who did and do work hard to provide for themselves. He has made OPEC nations richer by keeping the poor people poorer. More hate and violence exists in America today that during the civil war.

Instead of news today we have hate mongers like Chris Mathews, Alan Colmes, E. J. Dionne, Thomas Friedman and the list is endless, spewing anarchy to divide Americans. We have Marxist like George Soros pumping billions to help Obama divide America for his Socialist agenda. Why do these people hate America so much? Will they be happy when we have no one to hate?

It is past time for freedom loving Americans to unite and clean house in Washington. If school children do not wish to say the Pledge of Allegiance or pray, they do not have to. If people wish to pray to God, why prohibit this right? If men/women desire to live with one of the same gender, who cares? Does this mean we make a mockery of marriage to satisfy the re-election of politicians who can’t make a living by working?

Since retiring my electricity and grocery bills have increased 100%. My gasoline costs are up 150%. My retirement check will barely cover my telephone bills. Our Medicare insurance has doubled to over $650 a month and is scheduled to be about $900 in 2014. That is $100 a month more than I grossed in salary when we married 52 years ago.

Oh, before you forget it, my pension is still $221.47 a month after 18 years. Interest on my savings is about 10% of the current inflation rate. Something is rotten in Washington and in Denmark as the old saying relates. We can change things if enough Americans will get out and vote in November. It may be your last time to vote for anything.

Watching the Republican Party enter the self-destruct mode again is one of the most disappointing events of my near 81 years. I was born a conservative Texas Democrat like all Texans during the depression. It did take a few years to realize that the progressive liberals like Lyndon Johnson had hijacked the Democratic Party. The first Republican I ever voted for was Eisenhower. He welcomed conservatives and helped bring Americans together as freedom loving people. He helped heal the wounds caused by the loss of so many young Americans who died defending our right to be free.

Kennedy, a conservative Democrat, would spin in his grave if he could see how Johnson, Carter, Clinton and Obama have destroyed our freedoms, religion, ethics and the help thy brother society I grew up in. Now we have a welfare and alien society that expects the government to provide cradle to grave everything. Johnson did more damage to the Republic than every Progressive that ever served as President, including both Roosevelt’s and Wilson.

Nixon’s performance left the Presidency and the Republican Party with a well earned image of ethical failure. Ford then governed on cruise control. These two are responsible for four years of Carter. Carter almost destroyed our military and his foreign relations made Americans look like cowards. Until Obama was elected, Carter would have been remembered as the worst President in modern times. His dismal performance did cause Americans to elect the best President in my lifetime, Ronald Regan.  Reagan did revive the era of togetherness that we had in the Eisenhower years. Daddy Bush followed the path of Ford to not rock the boat and get back on cruise control. He will be remembered for his Foot in the Mouth stance on raising taxes. His weakness gave us Clinton and another race to become a Socialist Democracy instead of a Republic.

Bi-partisanship, proved successful by Regan, died when Clinton was elected. George W. Bush was a revival of the progressive wing of the Republican Party that had been ousted before I was born. He knew how to take advantage of a crisis better than Saul Alinsky and Obama. Bush’s mismanagement of the economy, allowing the illegal invasion to destroy education, healthcare and Medicare Part “D” along with McCain’s nomination signaled the impending death of the Republican Party. The Democrats won the election with Karl Marx Jr. as their nominee using the name Husain Obama.

Obama will be remembered as the best “Snake Oil Salesman” since P.T Barnum. This fellow is a master of deception, smooth with words and as honest as Andy Stern or George Soros. He captivates the women voters and with the help of our progressive university professors, he has hypnotized the young voters to demand a socialist society as the future for America.

As bad as Obama’s performance has been, he still maintained control of his lackeys in the Senate after the last election. What has resulted could be called a stroke of genius if he had actually planned losing control of the House of Representatives. If he ever learns to keep his mouth shut he will win another term as the republicans are destroying themselves.

We have never had a two party system in America. Even if you watch the Progressive main stream media, they report three groups of voters as Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Let me summarize some facts.

A. Democrats have the unions, all government employees, the poor, the weak, the illegal’s, the dead, the inmates and the uninformed that always vote democratic. They also control the majority of academic professors, lawyers and multi-national business leaders. Democrats represent about one third of the voters.

B.  Independents appear to be the people who can be swayed to believe the candidate that has the most money to expose themselves. I like to see them as individuals with few principles of their own. Sadly the majority of senior’s that were never part of the Democratic population noted in “A” above, now reside in this category. They just go with the flow, regardless of ethics and principals, as long as they believe they will get social security and Medicare. Most seniors on Medicare have no knowledge that their Medicare premiums will be increased by 150% by 2014. This group usually represents about one third of the voters.

C. We actually have three Republican Party’s. The Roe vs Wade abortion decision divided them many years ago. Nomination of a freedom of choice candidate will cause one third of the base to just not vote or back a third party. One example is when Ross Perot divided the party and got Clinton elected. Next you have the Libertarian’s who divide the party with their isolationist principals. They split the vote that got Obama elected. Now we have the Tea Party group. They have the support of most conservatives like myself but are not satisfied with orderly transition. You can’t eat a donkey in one bite. Even when all three segments unite they only represent about one third of all voters. The Tea Party will finish destroying the party in 2012 by splitting the Republican vote again.

The Tea Party thinks it can save the Republican Party when in fact they are destroying it with warp speed. The internal bickering happening today in the House of Representatives will be the real reason that Obama will win another term. That is if he will stop running off at the mouth and let the Republicans get him re-elected.

I know I am too old to see another Reagan emerge to re-establish a cohesive Republican Party. No one yet has shown believable leadership characteristics within the multitude running for the Republican nomination.

If Obama can cure his “Foot in his Mouth” disease he will be a two-term President and finish destroying our “Republic” with a Socialist Democracy he was brain washed to accomplish.

Americans prepare to kiss your freedoms goodbye and God help my grandchildren who will not have a better life than I did.

STATE OF WHICH UNION??

 

We have not had just one American “Union” in my 80 years, today we have at least three; “republican”, “democrat” and whatever “independent” means. To me there is only two kinds of true Americans, “conservatives” or “liberals” and the bunch in between the two who are  not yet adults or nitwits. Obama’s perception of a union is a group that pressures our businesses and government to create a power that will destroy the free enterprise system that has made America a world leader. Watch his gift of General Motors to the UAW end up in flames.

Watching our State of the Union (SOTU) messages for the past 65 years has been a mirror image of how far American politics has denigrated. The first one I remember was a radio address in 1945 that inspired all Americans to stay together and win WW11. Most of our earlier Presidents utilized the SOTU to rally the people to support truly bi-partisan issues to advance America’s future. Sadly, all we have seen for the past several years is partisan pep-rallies to keep the people divided as far as possible politically for the purpose of getting what ever party is in power re-elected.

The past three SOTU events, including Tuesday night, have been a continuation of Obama’s only real talent, “Snake Oil Salesman”; these events provide him the maximum exposure to keep the people divided as far as possible. We watch him every day throwing spears and threats at everyone who has a dissenting view. He uses any crisis available as ammunition to keep us divided and hide behind. His false sincerity and somber facial expressions make him a better actor than ever went to Hollywood. His only weakness is not having the ability to do his act impromptu like Clinton. He probably has to use the teleprompter to talk to his children.

The pep-rally in Arizona recently is a perfect example of using any tragedy to sell something. Using the attempted killing of a democratic Representative, to advance his Socialistic goals is sick. The Presidency has provided him the world stage and the bully pulpit capability to destroy our world leadership positions and reduce our freedoms.

Encouraged by the tree huggers, Hollywood’s elite, OPEC and China, he is nearing the power position to increase our buyer nation status by eliminating more of our industrial base. The fastest way to do this is by regulations, and boy does he know how. He has proved that he has the power to ignore Congress to get his way. Allowing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to increase regulations and give Congress the finger, is a perfect example of the power imbalance. It also shows how our Congress is totally incapable of any control over the Executive Branch of our government.

The demoncrats (not misspelled accidently) sit up like a lap dog and do whatever the “King” desires. Reid, Polosi, Durban and Kerry is just some of his hit-men. All he has to do for the rest of them is throw them a biscuit in the form of a bridge, airport, Medicade money or a future place in government power. Just watch when the wave of Senators who just left or the ones who have announced they will leave in 2012, end up as Ambassadors or in well connected government positions. Most of the others will end up as lobbyist sucking on the government teat.

The republicans have been in retreat for so long they need to use the “Greatest Italian Military Invention”, back up lights for tanks, to see where they are going. They get the power back, make rabid speeches, promise to stop the run-away-train, then they fold up when they are pressed into making critical decisions. When they do shut down the government the “demons” always make them look like Simon Lagree attacking orphans and widows. How many cycles do we have to watch for them to admit they have no clue how to match the clever clandestine ability of the demoncrats to use power. One thing the republicans do that is smarter than the “demons” is bypassing the positions of power in government and go directly to consulting and lobbying. The work is easier and the money comes faster and better.  

The only hope we have to stop all of the Washington D.C. spending is for John Bohner to have the courage to stand up and stop it now. He appears to be an honorable man and hopefully a man of his word. Next the entire republican House must get committed and operate as they promised. If they fold this time we need to throw them all out in 2012 and elect at least 537 new people. This is the only way that politics will again be a public service rather than an occupation.
