QUALITY- A PROFESSION ELIMINATING ITSELF?

QUALITY from Birth to Death?

This old 88 year old began his career in Quality Control in 1952. Quality Control was a new name for “Inspection” when they blended Inspection with Statistics and a new Department was born. The Inspection function, was made an independent activity during WWII, that separated inspection from manufacturing. The reason was more of a safety issue to help protect the military from human errors in a critical World War.

I helped input and still have a copy of the first Quality Control Manual created for Temco Aircraft Corporation. I was involved with the incorporation of statics and the inspection function. Quality Control gained stature with a Director who reported directly to the President. This type of Quality Control Department is still not active in the small US business world unless it is mandated by the customer. One exception might be if the company had been fined or caused human fatalities that resulted in excessive legal costs. Most just decided on closure and/or bankruptcy.

In the late 1950’s along came NASA and another gain for the Quality professional, I had advanced to the then title of General Foreman of Inspection. The company name had been changed to Ling Temco with no advancement in management reporting or title. In i960 we acquired Chance Vought Aircraft and the company was known as Ling-Temco-Vought or LTV. In the middle 1960’s the company decided to build a separate plant for missiles and space programs and I spent the next 16 years as Manager of administration or all testing functions. At age 47 I completed a Master of Science degree and a proud 3.92 GPA. NASA over the years had been able to remove the name “Control” as we actually controlled nothing but ourselves. NASA also combined Quality, Safety and Reliability into one department. A giant step for the quality function.

My last two years with LTV I served as dead end Manager of Quality Planning with no chance of advancement after two suffering years completing my Masters Degree.

In 1978 I was offered a position with Otis Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Halliburton Corporation. This was a significant stature and responsibility promotion for me. My title was Director of Quality for a company with sales of eight billion annually and I reported to the President and had to have my departmental operating plan presented and approved by the Halliburton Board of Directors annually. My need was the first Quality Program Requirement instituted by the Department of the Interior for design, fabrication and testing for Surface and Sub-Surface Safety Valves and named SPPE-1/-2 used in US offshore oil and gas wells. This program introduced a totally new form of Quality for the oil and gas industry. This program was a derivative of NQA-1/-2 created for the Nuclear industry earlier, This was like taking a still inspection industry far beyond itself into the NASA/Nuclear world in one giant leap. This leap was a common giant step for all suppliers. During my time with Otis my department required over 425 employees worldwide

This was a new leap for me as instead of dealing with Air Force, Navy, Army or Nasa the agency that managed the Nuclear and SPPE programs was the American Society for Mechanical Engineers or ASME. This was only the second program that was ever required deal with third party agencies instead of Government agencies. This form of Quality functioned through a committee structure that was responsible for its operation. Operating as ASME Committees the structure was a Representative for what as named the Main Committee and there were committees for Surface Safety Valves, Sub-service Safety Valves, A Quality Committee and a Committee for Testing. Each Committee had a member from the ASME, a member from the Department of the Interior, am member from the manufacturer of each device, a member from the testing organization and a member from the public, Each committee elected a Chairman and a Secretary and meetings were scheduled quarterly. These meetings rotated and usually lasted 4 days. In addition the Chairman of  the Main Committee, the ASME Director of Accreditation, the Department of the Interior representative met semi-annually in Reston Virginia and at ASME headquarters in New York City.

These two programs were the beginning of the current ISO third party, accreditation and registration programs that began later as ISO 9000-1/-2 Requirements that began in the late 1980’s. For credibility reasons I was chairman of both the Main and Quality Committees for over 5 years. Two as the Manufacturer representative and three as the Public representative as I left the Halliburton Cooperation after 5 years to further my career in Quality Training and Consulting that lasted eleven more years before I retired in 1994.

My remaining eleven years of Quality work was both public and in-house training on three continents with a partner for the first several years, Richard, Dick, Kleckner, We trained some 40,000 individuals in both Quality System Auditing and familarism with the ISO 9000 Standards This took us to four Countries and likely 25 states and we also had a special Auditor program for the airline industry that trained people from every airline in the free world. We both had separate Consulting businesses and we did several programs together for some of the larger industries/airlines including an in-depth audit of Eastern Airlines shortly before it went bankrupt.

Another join venture was the forming of a company in 1990 to be accredited to issue ISO 9001/-2 registrations. Quality Systems Registrar, QSR, became the first American owned company to be Accredited to issue ISO Certificates. QSR is still in business with over 400 customers. Being smaller than the giants of Registration we have always limited our size to make sure we can develop bonding relationships and some of our customers have been with us since our Accreditation. I still serve as a member of our Board of Governors that assure credibility to QSR’s operation. There may still be other Quality professionals still functioning that are my age but all of the giants of Quality like Dr Juran, Dr. Demming, Phil Crosby for a few were acquaintances or friends have long ago departed. The only other friend still working is Hank Farlander, another Dallas friend I first met when I was Chairman of the Dallas Chapter of what was still the ASQC in the early 1980’s,

My reason for taking the time to create this article is I am now watching the Quality leadership of today slowly destroy all of the barriers I helped remove to gain stature for the Quality Profession and the Quality Professional. I tried hard to not create a book but without explaining the wars I helped fight for stature many Quality professionals have no idea how hard it was to gain stature for a function that adds no value to the large companies except improved operations and reduced waste. In my career I worked in twenty three countries, visited in nine more and worked forty nine States. In my last eleven years I flew over 3,000,000 miles and spent over 2200 nights traveling. I started or help start nine different businesses in 4 countries.

I wrote this a few weeks ago and sure enough the following events are unfolding. Greed finally tripped up the leaders as predicted.

Watching today’s accreditation organizations like the ANAB, an AQC subsidiary, join with the foreign accreditation bodies keep trying to expand responsibilities for Quality into risk management, and other fields that will fail eventually when the costs of Accreditation and Registration exceed the increasing beyond any possible savings will kill the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg. When the last cycle of increased costs were introduced a couple of years ago I tried to warn the ANAB they were swimming in uncharted waters and I was ignored. If the AQC does not make certain the top leadership is aware of the shark filled waters Quality as a profession will get the first self inflicted black eye in my 65 plus years. I doubt that the AQC will have the honesty to print this article and at least generate discussion to prove me a wingnut or get some sanity involved before the bloodbath begins. I have nothing to lose or gain as my days are numbered. I just can’t believe the wild intrusions into other areas like design are an act of wisdom.

America’s Biggest Enemy Today….America!

The political divide we have in America today is the most serious event that has reared its ugly head in my 88 years of being born a free American male. Until the uprising between Americans began, because of the war in Vietnam, America had normal instead of serious problems with race, equality and even immigration issues. Internal issues have been the major reason for every country failure that has happened in history. At this point America’s second Civil War preparations actually are underway with programmed events that seem to force the hatred and increased civil disobedience in far too many places. States and Cities are now openly ignoring Federal Laws and inciting citizens to destroy property and maim or kill each other.

America’s first internal battle with itself was the Civil War in the 1860’s. Approximately 620,000 soldiers died from combat, accident, starvation, and disease during America’s first Civil War with itself to settle the Slavery issue. Even with the war, no outside country attempted to attack America during its recovery. The saddest thing happening again is the division of families where brothers and sisters detest their fathers/mothers and even other brothers/sisters. The scariest fact is that this had not happened again in my lifetime until the mainstream media started fanning the fires to incite civil strife, assisted by Government employees leaking fake news and hoping for open warfire now.

I have grandchildren and possibly other family that have no desire to be associated or let great grandchildren even know I exist because of political beliefs. That’s “HATE”.

I am not alone and wish to share an exchange between a friend and his son who shall remain unknown. These exchanges show how diverse politics can be. Unfortunately one can see the hope for a Trump failure and the wisdom of the father hoping to calm diverse feelings.

EXCHANGES

Son.. Today has been quite a whirlwind day for the Trump inner circle. Two close, former allies, admitting and being convicted by a jury, of federal crimes.

Dad.. Messrs Cohen and Manafort convicted!  Do their convictions change what I think about POTUS?

I never thought Trump was a choir boy or someone who preferred sack cloth to Harris tweed.

As an “entrepreneur” and world class business person, it is unlikely that he had no skeletons in his closet.

As someone who was on the verge of building a grand hotel in Moscow, he made all sorts of connections with Russians.  And, one assumes, that he knew or should have known, that these Russian connections were most likely agents of the KGB or whatever the alphabet soup of Soviet security organizations that are included in the KGB orbit.

His decision to run for the Presidency was a known risk, that he decided to take.

What drives a man like “The Donald”?  Ambition, ego, greed and all the rest of the flaws that a businessman would collect, in an effort to make and keep a million or a billion dollars!  What I think is that more than 60 million American voters pulled the lever for him despite his flaws and baggage. Has he made mistakes, well duh!!

What did we expect….the perfection of political correctness?

How many political friends or insiders did he know or have as friends, during his business career and how many appointments did he have to make to populate his government?  He had to rely upon the advice and counsel of others, almost exclusively to make hundreds of appointments, of people he didn’t know. That’s what happens when someone from outside the Washington Swamp gets elected, to try and drain some of the contaminated water, he quickly finds himself in chest deep. He appointed Jeff  Sessions as AG as a reward for prior support and loyalty; however, that was not a good decision. Sessions should now resign, before Trump is forced to fire him. The reason Sessions cited for recusing himself was inappropriate, as was the basis for his action, because there was no conflict of interest.

If he remains healthy, i’ll be amazed. The pressure on him to say and do the right things at every occasion, at every meeting, at every opportunity, must be overwhelming.  Yet, he volunteered! No one pushed him, other than his own alter-ego!! As for Manafort, specifically, his convictions were well deserved. However, the crimes were for activities well before he joined the Trump team & very late in the campaign. As for the lawyer, well, I don’t have a lot of respect for the legal profession, to start with and even less after he squealed like a trapped rat and bargained for his life.

Son.. The implications for POTUS are horrible. This is not gloating at all.

Dad.. Let me assume you’re referring to the possibility of the Republicans losing its majority’s in the Congress?

That seems to be the driving force for every living Democrat and, the logical extension from that, is an effort to impeach him out of office. Nothing has changed in my view of what was once the concept of a “Loyal Opposition”.

In American politic’s. The daggers have been out for him since before his inauguration; sour grapes and animus are now the face of the Democrat Party. The hatred for him is palpable in the national media that echoes throughout acountry and, prodded by biased political pundits who were so unbelievably irate that they were so wrong. Whatever happened to the concept of “keeping your mouth shut, if you can’t say anything positive!”?  I have to walk out of the room whenever whiney Chuck Schumer reads another hateful diatribe against the man. The not so loyal opposition is trying to undo an election because they can’t believe and won’t accept, that their highly flawed candidate wasn’t anointed as their ideological savior.

Son.. I really would like to know your thoughts…..do you still see Trump in the same way?

Dad.. What way is that?  My basic opinion hasn’t changed because I started out with no illusions and knowing he was a mortal man with foibles & flaws. I knew that he would be torpedoed by holdovers from previous administrations and the increasingly corrupt FBI, CIA and DIA.  I feel sorry for those Americans who can’t accept that Trump beat a bad candidate for the highest office in the land. The nation needed someone to try and undue some of the damage that BHO had done to the country and to our standing in the world. Obama’s actions to disarm our military, suck up to Socialist/Communist regimes and apologize for being  the greatest nation in a hard and cruel world, were just some of what Trump promised to undo. Hear, Hear!!

Son.. Are his indiscretions and those close to him, i.e., Cohen, his long-time fixer, important to you?

Dad.. Not really!!  I have concern that the Democrats will now intensify their opposition to Trump’s SCOTUS nominee, Justice Kavanaugh.

The collective naiveté expressed by the fawning press, is as disgusting as usual.  I am usually not inclined to justify bad behavior by citing similar behavior by others. Just as other people have been toppled from their lofty perches, those less powerful, less successful, enjoy chipping away at the top dog; it’s an example of what the Aussies call the “Tall Poppy” syndrome”. In other words, they enjoy cutting the big dog down to size; it’s fast becoming our national pastime.

Son.. You have been very quiet lately, since the clearance issue has come up. Thoughts?

Dad.. Yes, a few! I appreciate you asking. Believe it or not, I have a few other interests beyond national politics. Here at “God’s Waiting Room”, we have lost several good friends lately and I have been attending memorials, as well as getting ready to teach my Refresher Course in Contract Bridge.

Closing Comments

One of the reasons we have so many differences we have slowly removed many ways we used in the past to make sure the next generation had a historical education of the past. Just in my lifetime we have slowly phased out the older phases of American history and today we have few historians left and have nearly phased out both American as well any State history. This was not accidental, it was planned, programed over 100 years ago by President Teddy Roosevelt and has been perpetuated, paid for and performed by the Progressives who have never worried openly about how long it would take to Socialize America. For the first time in my life Socialism is supported by 30% of American voters.

The only American alive today with the Gonads to stop the race to socialize America is Trump. The Progressives know this and fear him more than Putin or any other world leader. They know if he can be eliminated America can be neutralized without ever firing a shot. Watching this self-destruction in action is painful.

CIVIL WAR IS HAPPENING NOW!

My friend and fellow golfer, Ed Johnson. sent me this dynamite article that is the best illustration of what is happening today in America I have read. Jack Minzey, the author, was a perceptive genius and penned this outstanding  comparison a war without arms. If someone does not stop the Mueller exploitation and Witch Hunt the shooting could be next.

The actions described lead me to believe some powerful Democrats, Progressives, Liberals are hoping to increase the shooting and killing and to further divide Americans. They control the media and have far too many Federal Judges to create chaos, hate and diversions. When you analyze who has been amassing guns and ammunition preparing to defend their rights any armed conflict appears to be one sided. I would like to stimulate some dialog? Clyde Brewer.

A few weeks ago, Jack Minzey, sent what was to be the final chapter in the long line of books and treatises which he had written.

Jack went to be with the Lord on 8 April 2018.

Professionally, Jack was head of the Department of Education at Eastern Michigan University as well as a prolific author of numerous books, most of which were on the topic of Education and the Government role therein.  His interest in Conservative Politics was exceeded only by his intellectual ability.

This is the last of his works:

 Civil War

How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge.  That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the first time they’ve done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.

That’s a civil war.

There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship.

Your very own dictatorship.

The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat’s system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything. He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has ‘discretion’ to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the ‘discretion’ to reverse him. That’s how the game is played That’s how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fight.

When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries.

The Constitution has something to say about that.

Whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can’t serve in if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. And Trump isn’t in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren’t in the club with him.

Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That’s not a free country.

It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an ‘insurance policy’ against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win did.

Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

What a great perception. CB

Two Choices

I just recieved this from my friend, Ron Jenkins. It would have been easy to “Forward” or “Delete”. I chose an option most don’t have which is to publish this story and share it with nearly 800 folks that I possibly could. The least you can do is share it with everyone you can. Will you?

What would you do?….you make the choice.

Don’t look for a punch line, there isn’t one.

Read it anyway.

My question is: Would you?

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. ‘I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.’

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, ‘Do you think they’ll let me play?’ I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.
I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, ‘We’re losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we’ll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning..’

Shay struggled over to the team’s bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt.. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay’s team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay’s team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.  At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn’t even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the  Plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay’s life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. ou have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school tht serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its Dedicated staff, he offered a question:‘When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.  Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.  Where is the natural order of things in my son?’

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman’s head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, ‘Shay, run to first! Run to first!’

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, ‘Run to second, run to second!’

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball.

The smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher’s intentions,

so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman’s head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, ‘Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay’

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base,

he shouted, ‘Run to third! Shay, run to third!’

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams,

and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, ‘Shay, run home! Run home!’

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

‘That day’, said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face,

‘the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world’.

Shay didn’t make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:

We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate.

The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you’re thinking about forwarding this message, chances are that you’re probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren’t the ‘appropriate’ ones to receive this type of message. Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the ‘natural order of things.’

So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it’s least fortunate among them. You now have two choices:  ANON

LEADERSHIP?

I decided to search for quotes, statements, and positive positions of Senate leaders. I selected the significant news event of Supreme Court Justice Kennedy’s retirement to illustrate the positions and concerns of the Senate leaders.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, with the suave of “Puff the Dragon” and demeanor of the Devil himself stated “the Senate should not vote on a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy this year, an election year”.

Chris Matthews, the host of MSNBC’s “Hardball”, “threatened the Democratic leadership who will have hell to pay with voters if the party fails to block President Donald Trump’s pick to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy”.

Matthews, The self appointed brains of MSNBC,  “said that because Senate Republicans, led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, refused to even meet with former President Barack Obama’s pick to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia, Democrats have to do everything in their power to stop Trump’s pick from being confirmed.

“I don’t think the Democrats should allow even meetings to occur with Trump’s nominee to fill this vacancy by Justice Kennedy,” Matthews said. “I think they have to fight eye for an eye for what happened in ‘16 where the Republicans, led by Mitch McConnell, refused to even consider or even meet with Merrick Garland.” Folks, people like Mathews are the reason we have ZERO cooperation in our government today.
If case you forgot President Obama still had nearly a year remaining in his second term when Justice Scalia was eliminated. McConnell said that the vacancy should not be filled in an election year and that the nominee should be up to the next president. Mathews and Schumer failed to remember that Obama did not wait and nominated Merrick Garland to replace Scalia.

Despite screams and hate filled articles McConnell and Senate Republicans refused to consider Garland and he was not granted a hearing. Instead, the Supreme Court operated with eight justices until Trump took office and nominated Neil Gorsuch.

It appears that McConnell does not intend to follow the precedent set in 2016, saying that the Senate will vote on a Trump nominee to the Supreme Court this fall. That would ensure that Trump’s pick is confirmed by a Republican-controlled Senate, even if the Democrats managed to regain a majority in the election.

Matthews fanning the fires of hate stated that if Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., allows Trump’s nominee to go forward it would anger the party’s core voters.

It appears that much of the Democratic leadership agrees with Matthews. Schumer announced on the Senate floor yesterday that “Our Republican colleagues in the Senate should follow the rule they set in 2016 not to consider a Supreme Court justice in an election year.” “Millions of people are just months away from determining the senators who should vote to confirm or reject the president’s nominee and their voices deserve to be heard now, as Leader McConnell thought they deserved to be heard then.”
“Anything but that would be the absolute height of hypocrisy,” he added.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., cited the “McConnell Standard,” set with his opposition to Garland, as the reason not to consider any nominee until after the midterm election.

Let the cannons be loaded. Not surprisingly, President Trump said the process to replace Kennedy on Supreme Court will ‘begin immediately’

The opposing guns are loaded and the California forces of Senator Dianne Feinstein and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced that “the future of our democracy is at stake”. If the war reaches a pitch that the Senators can stir up it will be the best opening in my lifetime to insist that electing Congresspersons be with term limits. These people have elevated themselves to an elite status that must be destroyed.

I fully agree that the future of our democracy is at stake. The people deserve a voice in a decision that will radically alter the course of American justice for decades. What do you think?

FIVE TO FOUR VOTES?

At least our forefathers had the wisdom to create our Supreme Court to have an uneven number of Justices. It has baffled me my entire life how our law schools educate our smartest lawyers to be able to use political reasons to vote on every issue for my 88 years. It is a shame that duels were banished as a way to settle tie votes but I suppose we would run out of lawyers otherwise? This might be a way to assure we never had a tie vote?

I wonder how many of the Judges, law clerks and even the news folks involved with the latest issue on travel to and from beautiful places like Somalia. Have you ever been to Somalia? They have been solidly against banning travel and you would think they understand the safety/dangers in this country. How many of these political decisions would have been made if they were made to travel to these places alone for a week to prove everything was safe before ruling it was? It would sure give me some secure feelings to see one of the 9th Court wave or the Hawaiian Judge so certain I would be safe there before I departed. How about you?

I have had the occasion to visit the Muslim world from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia. I did not use the word pleasure as little pleasure exists for Americans in most Muslim countries. I can assure you none of my visits were in the countries specified by President Trump’s travel ban. What idiot American would visit in the countries or wish to have a visitor from the same countries other than family.

I still wonder why we allow anyone in the world to emigrate to America when we know for certain they will never become Americans. A true Muslim cannot ever become an American and these liberal judges know this or should know they will never accept our pledge of allegiance.

The three female Justices of the Supreme Court who voted to allow these threats to the safety of just one American should be ashamed. They can hate our President, despise conservative Americans and spit on the flag but when they openly vote for political reasons they should be impeached as Justices.

What are your feelings as an American citizen?

TRUMP’S DECORUM IN QUESTION??

I received this from my friend, Wally Kittman and and I decided to share it hoping for feedback from any possible Progressive Liberal who can understand the exchange.  Wally stated it was originally written & published on July 17, 2017 by Evan Sayet. He stated there are copies attributing it to Dr. Marshall Kamena, the onetime mayor of Livermore, but that’s incorrect. This is the original.  Enjoy, pass it on and comment if you feel it’s worthy of such. C Brewer

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #Never Trumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum.  They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.” Here’s my answer:

We Right-thinking people have tried dignity.  There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency.  We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney?  And the results were always the same.

This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

I don’t find anything “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper” about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party.  I don’t see anything “dignified” in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don’t see anything “statesman-like” in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent.  Yes, Obama was “articulate” and “polished” but in no way was he in the least bit “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper.”

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ‘60s.   To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale.  It has been a war they’ve fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one – the violent take-over of the universities – till today.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war.  While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end.  Donald Trump is America’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors.  Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming. Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today.   Lincoln rightly recognized that, “I cannot spare this man. He fights.”

General George Patton was a vulgar-talking, son-of-a-bitch.  In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum, then Hitler and the Socialists would barely be five decades into their thousand-year Reich.

TRUMP IS FIGHTING.  AND WHAT’S PARTICULARLY DELICIOUS IS THAT, LIKE PATTON STANDING OVER THE BATTLEFIELD AS HIS TANKS OBLITERATED ROMMEL’S, HE’S SHOUTING, “YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS, I READ YOUR BOOK!”  THAT IS JUST THE ICING ON THE CAKE, BUT IT’S WONDERFUL TO SEE THAT NOT ONLY IS TRUMP FIGHTING, HE’S DEFEATING THE LEFT USING THEIR OWN TACTICS.

THAT book is Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – a book so essential to the Liberals’ war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton’s senior thesis.   It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump’s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do.

First, instead of going after “the fake media” – and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri – Trump isolated CNN.  He made it personal. Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as “the most powerful weapon of all.”

Everyone gets that it’s not just CNN – in fact, in a world where Al Sharpton and Rachel Maddow, Paul Krugman and Nicholas Kristof are people of influence and whose “reporting” is in no way significantly different than CNN’s – CNN is just a piker.

Most importantly, Trump’s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position.  With Trump’s ability to go around them, they cannot simply stand pat. They need to respond.  This leaves them with only two choices.

They can either “go high” (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery.

The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve.  It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive.

Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama’s close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright’s, church.

Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration’s weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration’s cover-up.

This makes “going high” a non-starter for CNN.  This leaves them no other option but to ratchet up the fake news, conjuring up the next “nothing burger” and devoting 24 hours a day to hysterical rants about how it’s “worse than Nixon.”

This, obviously, is what CNN has chosen to do.  The problem is that, as they become more and more hysterical, they become more and more obvious.  Each new effort at even faker news than before and faker “outrage” only makes that much more clear to any objective observer that Trump is and always has been right about the fake news media.

And, by causing their hysteria, Trump has forced them into numerous, highly embarrassing and discrediting mistakes.   Thus, in their desperation, they have lowered their standards even further and run with articles so clearly fake that, even with the liberal (lower case “l”) libel laws protecting the media, they’ve had to wholly retract and erase their stories repeatedly.

Their flailing at Trump has even seen them cross the line into criminality, with CNN using their vast corporate fortune to hunt down a private citizen for having made fun of them in an Internet meme.  This threat to “dox” – release of personal information to encourage co-ideologists to visit violence upon him and his family — a political satirist was chilling in that it clearly wasn’t meant just for him.  If it were, there would have been no reason for CNN to have made their “deal” with him public.

Instead, CNN – playing by “Chicago Rules” – was sending a message to any and all: dissent will not be tolerated.

This heavy-handed and hysterical response to a joke on the Internet has backfired on CNN, giving rise to only more righteous ridicule.

So, to my friends on the Left – and the #NeverTrumpers as well — do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be “collegial” and “dignified” and “proper”?  Of course I do. These aren’t those times. This is war. And it’s a war that the Left has been fighting without opposition for the past 50 years.

So, say anything you want about this president – I get it, he can be vulgar, he can be crude, he can be undignified at times.  I don’t care. I can’t spare this man. He fights.

Do you have time to add your comments, questions, accusations, lies or facts you would like to share?  I pray that God and Trump can and will save America before I croak.. C Brewer

MY MEDICAL EVENTS – KNEE REPLACEMENT!

My last article was a review of medical events over my first 88 years. Well, I will be 88 on August 31st and I have just lived through two more major events in my lengthy life. I had to wait until I could visit with my new Cardiologist yesterday to try to find out what happened..

I arrived at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin Texas at 7am Monday June 4th 2018 to get prepped for replacement of my right knee. My Surgeon, DR. Jason Carter, advised me he has shifted a couple of minor surgeries ahead of me and who am I to hurry him up? I just responded to be careful, I was in no hurry as my next probable tee time would be sometime in July.

Some time later, I guess it was about midnight on Wednesday, I awoke in Critical Care among total strangers, hungry and a sore right knee. I remember people discussing therapy, heart monitor surgery. My number one objective was to make sure I was to have therapy at the hospital in Hemphill. My planning was extremely detailed to match plans to care for my wife, Norma. I Was quite confused as to why I was still in Lufkin instead of Hemphill.

As I became cognizant my fear was lack of therapy on my new knee. Being in Critical Care established priorities based on crisis and my poor knee was not a priority.

My best guess is a Pacemaker was installed on Sunday evening, June 10th. This was a procedure that reminded me on my years working on Space Programs for NASA. The people were awesome as they performed about three hours of tedious operations as a team, well prepared and with flawless precision. I felt like a “Chicken on a Stick’ being roasted up in the air suspended.

I was excited that I might get moved on Monday to the hospital in Hemphill but the news was horrible. The Pacemaker had a loose wire and it required a new Device be installed Monday evening that took another 3 hours.

The testing required Tuesday was successful and after a long talk with the Cardiologists they approved moving me to the Hemphill Hospital.

They would not let me ride in the car with my son for reasons they would not explain and I was running a week behind my desired tee time schedule because I now have a Pacemaker.

The ambulance ride from Lufkin to Hemphill was an event never to be forgotten. I Just thought I was stabilized for the ride of a lifetime. We arrived physically about 4 pm but it was at least 8pm before my mind arrived.

I had two days of therapy before my golf friends came to visit on Friday afternoon. I was still trying to reconstruct the events that happened in Lufkin when I was notified I would be returning to Lufkin Tuesday Morning to visit with the Surgeon and the Cardiologists. I was scared that it would require another ambulance ride and ecstatic when I found out I could use my car and whoever I desired to drive me both directions.

My friend Tim “T” Picked me up about 9:30 Tuesday morning for the first appointment with Dr. Jason Carter. They X-Rayed my knee, advised me the new knee was doing great and the nurse proceeded to remove the staples from my knee. As the Surgeon had completed his work before anything happened connected to the Pacemaker I still had no clue what caused the Pacemaker.

We proceeded to our next appointment with the Cardiologists who had visited with me and was instrumental in the Pacemaker I am wearing today. They ran another EKG and spent a long time with paperwork.

I asked the Doctor if he knew why I got the Pacemaker. He told me he was on duty in the ER on the 4th. He said he was summoned to ICU where I was located and I had fallen out of the bed and was lying on the floor. He said I was not coherent and I am sure I may will likely never know what happened or why I now wear the Device?

My stay continues in the Swing Bed re-hab program at Sabine County Hospital. We are so fortunate to have our hospital managed and manned by caring and professional Doctors, Nurses and the support staff of Healthcare Professionals. This program allows my family to care for my wife Norma while I am being prepared for my new “Bionic” phase of life. The story will continue.

My beautiful Bride and I will celebrate 58 years of marriage tomorrow, June 23rd.

Ten Things That Will Disappear?

Unfortunately I do not know who shared or created these predictions with me. I likely will miss some of these events but I question the second item, The Check, will not be a near term thing to disappear. It will happen but not so fast. It will be around for at least 20 years in my opinion. I have made some minimal personal comments and several when you reach the summary  observations headed with “Logic is dead”.  C Brewer

  • 1. The Post Office

  • Get ready to imagine a world without the post office. They are so deeply in

  • financial trouble that there is probably no way to sustain it long term.

  • Email, Fed Ex, and UPS have about wiped out the minimum revenue needed

  • to keep the post office alive. Most of your mail today is junk mail and bills.

  • 2. The Check

  • Britain is already laying the groundwork to do away with check by 2018. It

  • costs the financial system billions of dollars a year to process checks.

  • Plastic cards and online transactions will lead to the eventual demise of

  • the check. This plays right into the death of the post office. If you never

  • paid your bills by mail and never received them by mail, the post office

  • would absolutely go out of business.

  • 3. The Newspaper

  • The younger generation simply doesn’t read the newspaper. They certainly
  • don’t subscribe to a daily delivered print edition. That may go the way of

  • the milkman and the laundry man. As for reading the paper online, get ready

  • to pay for it. The rise in mobile Internet devices and e-readers has caused

  • all the newspaper and magazine publishers to form an alliance. They have met

  • with Apple, Amazon, and the major cell phone companies to develop a model

  • for paid subscription services.

  • 4. The Book

  • You say you will never give up the physical book that you hold in your hand

  • and turn the literal pages I said the same thing about downloading music

  • from iTunes. I wanted my hard copy CD. But I quickly changed my mind when I

  • discovered that I could get albums for half the price without ever leaving

  • home to get the latest music. The same thing will happen with books. You can

  • browse a bookstore online and even read a preview chapter before you buy.

  • And the price is less than half that of a real book. And think of the

  • convenience! Once you start flicking your fingers on the screen instead of

  • the book, you find that you are lost in the story, can’t wait to see what

  • happens next, and you forget that you’re holding a gadget instead of a book.

  • 5. The Land Line Telephone

  • Unless you have a large family and make a lot of local calls, you don’t need

  • it anymore. Most people keep it simply because they’ve always had it. But

  • you are paying double charges for that extra service. All the cell phone

  • companies will let you call customers using the same cell provider for no

  • charge against your minutes.

  • 6. Music

  • This is one of the saddest parts of the change story. The music industry is

  • dying a slow death. Not just because of illegal downloading. It’s the lack

  • of innovative new music being given a chance to get to the people who would

  • like to hear it. Greed and corruption is the problem. The record labels and

  • the radio conglomerates are simply self-destructing Over 40% of the music

  • purchased today is “catalogue items,” meaning traditional music that the

  • public is familiar with. Older established artists. This is also true on the

  • live concert circuit. To explore this fascinating and disturbing topic

  • further, check out the book, “Appetite for Self-Destruction” by Steve

  • Knopper, and the video documentary, “Before the Music Dies.”

  • 7. Television Revenues

  • To the networks are down dramatically. Not just because of the economy.

  • People are watching TV and movies streamed from their computers. And they’re

  • playing games and doing lots of other things that take up the time that used

  • to be spent watching TV. Prime time shows have degenerated down to lower

  • than the lowest common denominator. Cable rates are skyrocketing and

  • commercials run about every 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I say good riddance to

  • most of it. It’s time for the cable companies to be put out of our misery.

  • Let the people choose what they want to watch online and through Netflix

  • 8. The “Things” That You Own

  • Many of the very possessions that we used to own are still in our lives, but

  • we may not actually own them in the future. They may simply reside in “the

  • cloud.” Today your computer has a hard drive and you store your pictures,

  • music, movies, and documents. Your software is on a CD or DVD, and you can

  • always re-install it if need be. But all of that is changing. Apple,

  • Microsoft, and Google are all finishing up their latest “cloud services.”

  • That means that when you turn on a computer, the Internet will be built into

  • the operating system. So, Windows, Google, and the Mac OS will be tied

  • straight into the Internet. If you click an icon, it will open something in

  • the Internet cloud. If you save something, it will be saved to the cloud.

  • And you may pay a monthly subscription fee to the cloud provider. In this

  • virtual world, you can access your music or your books, or your whatever

  • from any laptop or handheld device. That’s the good news. But, will you

  • actually own any of this “stuff” or will it all be able to disappear at any

  • moment in a big “Poof?” Will most of the things in our lives be disposable

  • and whimsical? It makes you want to run to the closet and pull out that

  • photo album, grab a book from the shelf, or open up a CD case and pull out the insert.

  • 9. Joined Handwriting (Cursive Writing) This is a huge mistake that will haunt America for a long time, Signing your name should never be eliminated in my opinion. CB

  • Already gone in some schools who no longer teach “joined handwriting”

  • because nearly everything is done now on computers or keyboards of some type

  • (pun not intended)

  • 10. Privacy

  • If there ever was a concept that we can look back on nostalgically, it would

  • be privacy. That’s gone. It’s been gone for a long time anyway.. There are

  • cameras on the street, in most of the buildings, and even built into your

  • computer and cell phone. But you can be sure that 24/7, “They” know who you

  • are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates, and the Google

  • Street View. If you buy something, your habit is put into a zillion

  • profiles, and your ads will change to reflect those habits.. “They” will try

  • to get you to buy something else. Again and again and again.

  • All we will have left that which can’t be changed…….are our “Memories”.

  • Logic is dead. I question that logic will ever be dead. CB

  • Excellence is punished. We started punishing excellance in the 1960’s with quotas which resulted in the rewarding of Mediocrity. These two actions have caused our need to import help in nearly every educational segment of our lives. This is self inflicted  stupidity by our Congress and the 28 continous years of Progressive leadership from Bush one to Obama who dumbed down our population to satisfy quotas in our education system. If the people clean out all of the Congressional quota weaklings and let Trump implement modern educational changes we can reduce the need for foriegn help. CB

  • Mediocrity is rewarded. The saddest thing that ever happened in my long lifetime. CB

  • And dependency is to be revered.. This will take 50 years. CB

  • This is present-day North America. Obviously the hardest thing to change. CB

  • When crooks rob banks they go to prison.

  • When they rob the taxpayer they get re-elected    ANON Sound logic for sure. CB

HAS ANOTHER CIVIL WAR STARTED?

My friend, Ed Johnson, shared this powerful scenario that supports my articles predicting that we are dangerously close to the beginning of another civil war. This is a masterful collection of facts and events that are scary. I wish I knew who actually wrote this “Warning” that everyone with a scintilla of common sense better wake up. When the FBI is involved with plots and plans to overturn an election we are in deep dangers. C Brewer

When the search for truth is confused with political advocacy, the pursuit of knowledge is reduced to the quest for power………..Alston Chase

I did not write this, but the sentiments it presents are thought-provoking and far more accurate than we’d like to believe.  Good news is that the guns in the streets hasn’t happened…yet.

The mentality that has brought us to this point has been an implementation of a strategy of indoctrination through our public schools and universities coupled with an insertion over the past several decades of communist reasoning as delivered via Sol Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and the United Nation’s “Agenda 21.”  George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Pocahontas Warren, Bernie Sanders, and their acolytes are but the tip of the iceberg toward bringing Orwell’s “1984” to reality. If the progressives run President Trump out of office or get control of Congress, our country may very well be put on a track from which there is no return.

Our Civil War

So, what did they do?

A Democrat in the White House has “discretion” to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the “discretion” to reverse him. That’s how the game is played. That’s how our country is run.

Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That’s not a free country.

It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win won.

Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

That is how WARS START from within. Pass this along.
