Snopes On Verge of Financial Meltdown

Snopes has been a tool of the Progressive-Liberals as I have reported for a long time. They have twisted the facts and far too many people who have challenged my words and now they can apologize, but will not.  My thanks to Peter Forrest for sharing this article with me this morning. Obviously Snopes will deny everything. The media may take Trump down but I hope the American people will rise up and smack them in their pocket boo and force Congress to enter the world of modern communication. Making McCain actually be in his throne in the Senate Chamber to vote is unbelievable ignorance. We are living in 2017 not 1817 that Congress lives in.   CB  7-27-17

In the new liberal war on information, the very definition of the word “fact” has been called into question in order to create doubt among their voter base.

While Hillary Clinton was floundering in the 2016 election, spin-masters in the mainstream media, along with her campaign advisors, found themselves struggling to find a scapegoat for their “inevitable” candidate’s coming demise.  They had previously tried to attack Donald Trump on several fronts, but to no avail.  It seemed as though Hillary Clinton’s purported, and later proven, corruption was too far embedded in the character of her candidacy.

That’s when the democrats decided to try something desperate:  They would fight a war of perception.

Instead of arguing with journalists and outlets with whom they disagreed, the democrats and the mainstream media would simply decide that those outlets were “fake news”.  It was a quick and easy dismissal to use, and the concept went viral.  Soon, any and every conservative news outlet found themselves on some imaginary “list”, concocted by some low-level liberal arts professor at You Name It Community College.

In short, it was a mess.  Who, then, would validate the validity of these claims?

Enter Snopes.com, one of the earliest authorities on the internet.  As the advent of the world wide web created a need for verifying the identity of those Nigerian Princes and getting the real story behind that photo of the guy on top of the Twin Towers, Snopes became the de facto destination for separating the wheat from the chaff of internet urban legends.   As the internet grew, so did Snopes, who began branching out into real world legends shortly after.

As the war against Fake News continued to devolve into pure madness, with no authority truly able to right the ship, Facebook and Google decided that Snopes was the answer.  These two liberal leviathans of the online world would give the job to the husband and wife team behind the debunking website, and then forcefully interject the Snopes opinion in their own search results.  The obviously flawed plan is currently still in place.

But for how long?

“So-called ‘fact-checking’ website Snopes.com is reportedly on the verge of financial collapse since one if its founders has been accused of using company cash to fund his contentious divorce and to pay for fancy vacations with his new wife, a former escort and porn actress.

“The financial situation has apparently become so dire that Snopes owner David Mikkelson launched a crowd-funding website to solicit donations, according to London’s Daily Mail. Readers contributed more than $500,000 in just the first 24 hours.

“Snopes.com’s founders, former husband and wife David and Barbara Mikkelson, have been embroiled in a lengthy and bitter legal dispute in the wake of their divorce. At one point, Barbara accused the CEO of using company money for prostitutes. Barbara Mikkelson also accused her ex-husband of embezzling more than $100,000 in company funds. She urged the court to limit access to David’s bank account because she said she feared he would drain the company funds due to his wild spending habits.

“David claimed Barbara took millions from their joint accounts and bought property in Las Vegas. He has since remarried to a former escort and porn actress, Elyssa Young, who is one of the site’s staff members. Young, who was a Las Vegas escort until at least 2015, charged $500 for her services. She also starred in porn films as ‘Erin O’Bryn.’”

This, folks, is the group in charge of determining “fake news” for the liberals.

(and who will fact-check this one?!)

FLAG BURNING SURVEY – HOW DO YOU FEEL?

I have spent over five years writing nearly 1000 articles for several reasons. This started with a challenge from my old friend “Tadpole” Keel to use my knowledge gained having worked and visited in so many countries worldwide and in forty-nine of our fifty states.

Another old friend and mentor, Phil Sizer, who was my boss at OTIS/Halliburton made one of the sojourns that took us to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Abi Dhabi, Dubai. Qatar, Kuwait, Norway and The Netherlands twice. When I started this blog, he has challenged me to broaden my horizons with challenges to explore clandestine organizations like the Federal Reserve System in America and a scary group called Tavistock. If you wish to broaden your knowledge and see how these two secret organizations function, read my summarizations.

What prompted me to write my first article asking for your inputs was twofold. Any writer functions on feedback. Unfortunately, my efforts have never motivated more than a dozen people to have ever commented, criticized or praised the effort. Currently, there are 612 people worldwide who subscribe to receive my articles. Another 275 friends on Facebook and Twitter.

My second reason was to try another approach asking for you to please respond to this article. Help me find out how many people agree or disagree that burning our flag should be a lawful freedom. Our President-elect has fanned the flames of hate that he feels this flag burning expresses and should be punishable with jail time and loss of citizenship. How do you feel? I would like to use this feedback to share specifically respond.

I will start with my own feelings. With my parent’s consent, I joined the US Navy at 17 and made a commitment to give about four years of my life to my country. We had just ended WWII a couple of years earlier and America was united and everyone loved this great country. Then the bankers created the Korean war that added another year to my committed enlistment. My love for this country has never lessened for any reason.

Sadly, the bankers and one of the weakest administrations in American history got us involved in Viet Nam. This unleashed a new era of communists inspired dissident young Americans to start the hate campaign and flag burning incidents. For those who did not know both Hillary and Bill Clinton were two of these dissidents. The most hate-filled American was Jane Fonda and eventually John Kerry who is our Secretary of State now hugging every Muslim he can find. What he and Hillary have done to suck up to the terrorist world should be punishable by loss of their citizenship in my opinion.

Obviously. I agree with Trump that burning our flag that I learned to salute at 17 should be a federal crime. My punishment would be more severe as I feel that loss of citizenship should be forever and that the offender should be imprisoned or banished. How a Supreme Court allowed this to be legal is beyond belief. I feel certain that if a vote were held today the four Democratic zealots on the current Supreme “Political” Court would uphold this despicable decision.

America needs to be reunited and Trump is the first President to at least try. After eight years of hate-filled rhetoric that has divided America we need peace unification to survive.

Please share your feelings and let me follow up this posting with another article denoting how you feel.

AMERICAS FUTURE. ARE YOU PREPARED?

I received an E mail from my old friends, Mike & Emma Cobb that aroused me to post this article. All of the facts quoted were from the message and I have paraphrased and added some commentary to better describe the speed and impacts of these major changes we face “NOW”. I am not prepared for this, are you?

I have watched the invention of so many new changes in my 84+ years it makes my mind swirl to even think of what is upon us today. I have seen the telephone revolution from crank phones and live operators to ones today with more options than the first IBM computer. My first “bag phone weighed over 5 pounds. I communicated with customers in the early 1990’s by cable grams. In Asia at that time I could not even reach my wife by telephone except in large cities like Singapore and Tokyo. Get ready folks we have some real adjustments headed our way at warp speed.

Get ready to imagine a world without a Post Office. They are in financial trouble that even Congress will have no way to sustain its operation much longer. Email, Fed Ex, and UPS have just about wiped out the revenue required to just keep the post office alive. Most of your mail today is catalogs you don’t use, charities begging for donations usual junk mail and bills.

I read that Britain is already laying the groundwork to do away with checks by 2018. It costs the financial system billions of dollars each year to process checks. Credit and debit cards coupled with online transactions will be the only way to pay your bills unless you go in person. We already pay some bills by having the seller debit your bank account. I still get my SS check by mail but the same government that supports the Post Office is demanding I accept a direct deposit in my bank. If we can’t get bills or pay bills by check the Post Office can’t survive with Valentine, birthday and Christmas cards to even pay its retired employees. Walmart could make a profit running the postal service and they have the stores in place.

Next is the Newspaper. The younger generation simply doesn’t read the newspaper. They certainly don’t subscribe to a daily delivered print edition. I get a request to subscribe to the internet versions of the Austin newspaper today by E mail. Printed newspapers will disappear like the iceman, milkman and laundryman that were in business when I was a boy. I read that the newspapers are meeting Apple, Amazon, and the major cell phone  companies to develop a model for paid subscription services.

Some will never give up the physical book that you hold in your hand and turn the literal pages. Some people can’t handle any change. Now you can download books, movies, live TV and music at a fraction of the cost of a book, DVD or an album. Times have changed the market and reduced the costs. As an example you can now download music from iTunes and just by the one song you really wanted instead of the entire album.

Land line telephones are already an unnecessary expense unless you have a large family, make a lot of local calls or have a Fax machine. Most people, like me, just keep it simply because I have always had one. If you still have a land line you are paying double charges for that extra service. All of the cell phone companies will let you call other customers using the same cell provider for no charge against your minutes.*

Television revenues are down dramatically. Not just because of the economy. People are watching TV and movies streamed from their computers. They also play games, visit Facebook, Twitter, etc, cable get the news from blogs and lots of other activities that consume the time that they used spend watching TV. Cable and satellite rates are increasing and we now have to endure an increased volume of commercials about every 4 minutes.

Another thing that older Americans were made to learn was cursive handwriting. Many schools no longer even teach “joined handwriting” because nearly everything is done now on computers or keyboards of some type.

Privacy was a right all American enjoyed that is now a thing of the past. It’s gone. In fact it’s been gone for a long time. Now we have cameras on the street, in most of the buildings and even built into your computer and cell phone. The government, and God only know how many others know who you are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates and the Google Street View.

If you buy something, your buying habits are known by anyone who desires to buy them. Living in a rural area like I do makes buying from the internet a necessity rather than an option. I can purchase or just shop on the web for a pair of shoes and when I go to the Weather Channel five minutes later I will see an ad for the exact shoes I just bought or looked for.

Saving the best item to close with from the article I received was one thing that Obama, Congress, the Supreme Court or anybody else on earth can’t change is our “Memories”

Along with myself, many have already lost or can’t remember some already!

I wish I could give credit to the person that wrote the article I received but the message and even my commentary should be a warning that our biggest enemy is our own government. You can be assured they will find ways to make it worse, more difficult and tax it to maintain our welfare systems. Keep the poor, poorer to get re-elected.

DISCOURAGED

Three years ago my close friend “Tadpole” encouraged me to share my thoughts with a larger audience. I had been rather vocal sharing local my professional observations with “Letters to the Editor” locally and regionally after I retired in 1994. With his computer talent, more patience and his youth (he is only 74) he set up my blog on WordPress. WordPress has been a wonderful way to share my knowledge and views. “TAD” is still is disappointed I do not use pictures like he does, but I am just a man of words. He has since moved away but if I beg hard enough he helps me when I get in trouble. You will find a link to his Outdoor blog on my blog. His homespun humor and great pictures are enjoyable for all ages. One other friend, Kenn Fong, has helped me with questions and designed my Constitutional background. He also set up my internet address I can never remember. I feel I have worn out my friend with questions and at 84 I am certain that I will ever be computer literate. If you ever need professional help you can connect with Kenn from the link on my blog.

God gave me a mind and two parents who taught me to be successful at anything I attempted. The 1930’s had limited resources for entertainment but a local Carnegie library gave me a way to learn as much as I desired free. So I decided to fill my mind with knowledge because money to do the things kids do today was not possible. I currently have 42 kids, grandkids and great grandkids that would have never been able to cope with having nothing but three meals a day, two loving parents and no car, cell phone, TV or pocket money until they were grown. Even then it was tough and I was 23, married and had two children before I could afford to buy a 14 year old car I was blessed with opportunity. Unlike most today, I choose to take advantage of those options. Now a car at 16 is demanded.

Opportunity was whatever you were willing to seek when I graduated from High school at 16 in 1947. Jobs were just not available so I joined the Navy at 17, spent 32 years working in corporate management and started my first of nine businesses at 52. I worked, enjoyed visiting or both, in 32 countries and 49 states. I have seen cultures that most Americans only read about or watch in the news, especially in the Middle East and Asia. Became a Registered Professional Engineer at 45, gained a Masters Degree at 47, became a member of Mensa and Intertel at 48. I list these facts for two reasons; One. I am proud that my wife and partner for 54 years, Norma, not only encouraged me but she raised our four kids to be a credit to society while I traveled the world to make a living; Two. I have learned and observed so many things in my lifetime I enjoy sharing them with anyone willing to read or listen.

Why in the world would I be discouraged? I spend some 30 hours each week reading or listening to world events as I love America and the freedoms I used to have. It hurts me deeply to see how our country has changed in my lifetime. My youth was so different than today as we were free from government controls that have destroyed our rights to religion, privacy and free enterprise and made the federal Government the enemy of the people. These are the things that I try to share with my writing. The sad part it is my efforts are free and few, even friends and family, seldom even acknowledge that they read the articles.

Let me share some statistical facts. I have posted 771 articles since we created the blog. 37,126 people have visited the site, 141 people receive a copy by E mail, 14 follow my work on Twitter and 97 friends are notified of a new article being posted on Facebook. I want to thank each and everyone that has had the opportunity to read my work. I have no idea how many people actually read the articles. I do know that I have logged 1028 comments which is what is so discouraging. Even worse, 128 of these comments were my responses to a comment. I try to make a difference for some who do not have the 30 hours a week to keep up with factual events that are distorted by the most biased media of my lifetime. Comments are what any writer needs to encourage their work. I enjoy my critics equally with my supporters as it give me a chance to possibly improve dialog, my own knowledge and debate issues to share with as many as possible. I know everyone is busy but just hitting the” like” icon on Facebook lets me know you read my work.

I will get maybe five people, I can even name them, that will comment and tell me to keep writing. I will get another five that will take the time to hit the “like” icon on Facebook. That my friends is why I am discouraged and considering that my work is probably a waste of time.

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW!

It is really hard for this old man to believe that over 60% of American voters really don’t care if we abide by our Constitution anymore. The millions of young Americans that have died protecting our freedoms in wars with ourselves and others must wonder what they died for.

In the palatial palaces we call the White House, Capital, and the stone and marble structures of the Justice Department and Supreme Court, ethics has disappeared. The individuals that we elect and appoint have decided that our laws no longer apply to government employees. We have just one Constitution but government employees have decided they are the only ones who decide what laws are applied. Why?

The IRS is the most intrusive agency as they have the power to swat you down like a bee, just because you want to force the government to abide by the Constitution. Witch hunts to punish conservatives or any American without cause is unacceptable. Their admitted actions is a violation of our laws and the Justice department just ignores punishment. Why?

When our President lies like he does nearly every day, it is against our laws and everyone ignores it. He has perfected the practice of lying even when evidence is crystal clear with his own words and the majority of American voters really don’t care. He knows he lied during his speech to the UN about Benghazi but says on TV he never covered up the real reason we sacrificed the four American lives to get him re-elected just this week. Why?

Eric Holder, the Attorney General of this once great country has made a mockery of ethics and honesty because of his “HATRED” of white Americans. The Justice department tapping the telephones of the Associated Press is the scariest violation of our freedoms that I have ever heard about. The real question is how many more of these violations have happened that we are unaware of, yet? When Harry Reid questioned Mick Romney’s tax documents during the last election, how did he know what was in the tax documents? Obviously it was provided by the IRS. That is a violation of our Constitutional law and why was he not prosecuted? Holder ignores law violations of Democrats and the IRS leaks. His actions to ignore the Constitution and lie under oath are unacceptable and he is a wild mad man on the loose that no one can corral. Why?

Hillary Clinton, recent Secretary of State, can make fun of Congress for trying to find out why we let the four Americans die in Libya with statements that must have made the families wonder if their loved ones died in vain. The loss of one American by the hands of any terrorist, should never go unexplained. She really does not care why as the election is over now. She knows that she has three plus years for people to forget, before she runs for President again in the 2016 elections. Why?

Have you ever read out Constitution? It is available on the Internet and it’s free. I have read it and I am astounded that we have a Supreme Court that can’t ever agree on what is says. The wording is quaint by today’s language and the interpretations by the lawyers appointed for life to protect our freedoms are based on feelings rather than facts. Why?

I believe I have the answer. Of the hundreds of law schools we have in the United States, each one teaches their students different ways to read this simple document. Statements like we heard from President Clinton cemented my opinion. “It all matters on what the term “is, is means.” Our Law professors have taken it upon themselves to embed their political views and to hell with the Constitution. This appears to be consistent in every law school in America today. They have designed at least one semester to teach students how to “LIE” along with the associated dramatics required to smile when they perform. Why?

I realize that liberals who run our country will never read my work. I have doubts that the independent young people and women who joined with the Democrats to elect the best con man in history can even read English.

Over 100 friends and other bloggers subscribe to and receive an E mail every time I post anything. Nearly 28,000 people have visited the site since I started a couple of years ago. Sadly most of the comments I see are from friends and family who post something on Facebook and unfortunately those comments are not shared with others. The time it takes to comment on the myriad of different sites wears me out. In addition, it does not allow me to share my responses with others. I realize that liberals who run our country will never read my work. Feedback is what keeps me motivated to spend the time to share my views. Revenue is obviously not my mission.

Does anyone out there really care “why” we have allowed our Constitution to be ignored by government employees???
