I will add nothing to this story that I received from my friend Peter Forrest that asked that it be shared far and wide to as many real Americans as possible. It would be the America I grew up in if all government employees were like General Kelly. We just don’t have enough true Americans to serve anymore and it appears we never will?Clyde BrewerOn Nov 13, 2010, Lt General John Kelly, USMC, gave a speech to the Semper Fi Society of St. Louis, MO. This was four days after his son, Lt Robert Kelly, USMC, was killed by an IED while on his 3rd Combat tour. During his speech, General Kelly spoke about the dedication and valor of our young men and women who step forward each and every day to protect us.During the speech, he never mentioned the loss of his own son. He closed the speech with the moving account of the last six seconds in the lives of two young Marines who died with rifles blazing to protect their brother Marines.“I will leave you with a story about the kind of people they are, about the quality of the steel in their backs, about the kind of dedication they bring to our country while they serve in uniform and forever after as veterans. Two years ago when I was the Commander of all U.S. and Iraqi forces, in fact, the 22nd of April 2008, two Marine infantry battalions, 1/9 “The Walking Dead,” and 2/8 were switching out in Ramadi. One battalion in the closing days of their deployment going home very soon, the other just starting its seven-month combat tour. Two Marines, Corporal Jonathan Yale and Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, 22 and 20 years old respectively, one from each battalion, were assuming the watch together at the entrance gate of an outpost that contained a makeshift barracks housing 50 Marines. The same broken down ramshackle building was also home to 100 Iraqi police, also my men and our allies in the fight against the terrorists in Ramadi, a city until recently the most dangerous city on earth and owned by Al Qaeda. Yale was a dirt poor mixed-race kid from Virginia with a wife and daughter, and a mother and sister who lived with him and whom he supported as well. He did this on a yearly salary of less than $23,000.Haerter, on the other hand, was a middle class white kid from Long Island. They were from two completely different worlds. Had they not joined the Marines they would never have met each other, or understood that multiple America’s exist simultaneously depending on one’s race, education level, economic status, and where you might have been born. But they were Marines, combat Marines, forged in the same crucible of Marine training, and because of this bond they were brothers as close, or closer, than if they were born of the same woman.
The mission orders they received from the sergeant squad leader I am sure went something like, “Okay you two clowns, stand this post and let no unauthorized personnel or vehicles pass. You clear?”I am also sure Yale and Haerter then rolled their eyes and said in unison something like, “Yes Sergeant,” with just enough attitude that made the point without saying the words, “No kidding, we know what we’re doing.” They then relieved two other Marines on watch and took up their post at the entry control point of Joint Security Station Nasser, in the Sophia section of Ramadi, Al Anbar, Iraq.A few minutes later a large blue truck turned down the alley way – perhaps 60-70 yards in length, and sped its way through the serpentine of concrete jersey walls. The truck stopped just short of where the two were posted and detonated, killing them both catastrophically. Twenty-four brick masonry houses were damaged or destroyed. A mosque 100 yards away collapsed. The truck’s engine came to rest two hundred yards away knocking most of a house down before it stopped. Our explosive experts reckoned the blast was made of 2,000 pounds of explosives. Two died, and because these two young infantrymen didn’t have it in their DNA to run from danger, they saved 150 of their Iraqi and American brothers-in-arms.When I read the situation report about the incident a few hours after it happened I called the regimental commander for details as something about this struck me as different. Marines dying or being seriously wounded is commonplace in combat. We expect Marines regardless of rank or MOS to stand their ground and do their duty, and even die in the process, if that is what the mission takes. But this just seemed different. The regimental commander had just returned from the site and he agreed, but reported that there were no American witnesses to the event – just Iraqi police. I figured if there was any chance of finding out what actually happened and then to decorate the two Marines to acknowledge their bravery, I’d have to do it as a combat award that requires two eye-witnesses and we figured the bureaucrats back in Washington would never buy Iraqi statements. If it had any chance at all, it had to come under the signature of a general officer.I traveled to Ramadi the next day and spoke individually to a half-dozen Iraqi police all of whom told the same story. The blue truck turned down into the alley and immediately sped up as it made its way through the serpentine. They all said, “We knew immediately what was going on as soon as the two Marines began firing.” The Iraqi police then related that some of them also fired, and then to a man, ran for safety just prior to the explosion. All survived. Many were injured, some seriously. One of the Iraqis elaborated and with tears welling up said, “They’d run like any normal man would to save his life.” “What he didn’t know until then,” he said, “And what he learned that very instant, was that Marines are not normal.”Choking past the emotion he said, “Sir, in the name of God, no sane man would have stood there and done what they did. No sane man. They saved us all.” What we didn’t know at the time, and only learned a couple of days later after I wrote a summary and submitted both Yale and Haerter for posthumous Navy Crosses, was that one of our security cameras, damaged initially in the blast, recorded some of the suicide attack. It happened exactly as the Iraqis had described it. It took exactly six seconds from when the truck entered the alley until it detonated. You can watch the last six seconds of their young lives. Putting myself in their heads I supposed it took about a second for the two Marines to separately come to the same conclusion about what was going on once the truck came into their view at the far end of the alley. Exactly no time to talk it over, or call the sergeant to ask what they should do. Only enough time to take half an instant and think about what the sergeant told them to do only a few minutes before, “Let no unauthorized personnel or vehicles pass.” The two Marines had about five seconds left to live.It took maybe another two seconds for them to present their weapons, take aim, and open up. By this time the truck was half-way through the barriers and gaining speed the whole time. Here, the recording shows a number of Iraqi police, some of whom had fired their AKs, now scattering like the normal and rational men they were – some running right past the Marines. They had three seconds left to live. For about two seconds more, the recording shows the Marines’ weapons firing non-stop the truck’s windshield exploding into shards of glass as their rounds take it apart and tore in to the body of the ( I deleted) who is trying to get past them to kill their brothers – American and Iraqi-bedded down in the barracks totally unaware of the fact that their lives at that moment depended entirely on two Marines standing their ground. If they had been aware, they would have known they were safe because two Marines stood between them and a crazed suicide bomber. The recording shows the truck careening to a stop immediately in front of the two Marines. In all of the instantaneous violence Yale and Haerter never hesitated. By all reports and by the recording, they never stepped back. They never even started to step aside. They never even shifted their weight. With their feet spread shoulder width apart, they leaned into the danger, firing as fast as they could work their weapons. They had only one second left to live. The truck explodes. The camera goes blank. Two young men go to their God. Six seconds. Not enough time to think about their families, their country, their flag, or about their lives or their deaths, but more than enough time for two very brave young men to do their duty into eternity. That is the kind of people who are on watch all over the world tonight – for you.We Marines believe that God gave America the greatest gift he could bestow to man while he lived on this earth – freedom. We also believe he gave us another gift nearly as precious – our soldiers, sailors, airmen, U S Customs and Border Patrol, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines – to safeguard that gift and guarantee no force on this earth can ever steal it away.It has been my distinct honor to have been with you here today. Rest assured our America, this experiment in democracy started over two centuries ago, will forever remain the “land of the free and home of the brave” so long as we never run out of tough young Americans who are willing to look beyond their own self-interest and comfortable lives, and go into the darkest and most dangerous places on earth to hunt down, and kill, those who would do us harm.God Bless America , and SEMPER FIDELIS !”IT WOULD BE NICE (GREAT!) TO SEE the message spread if more would pass it on. Semper Fi, God Bless America and God Bless the United States Marine Corps… Often Tested, Always Faithful, Brothers Forever. Please share this with everyone you can. Clyde Brewer
My friend, Peter Forrest, sent me these questions and it seems more than interesting to ask your “Liberal Friends” to see if they can explain even one. I want to ask you to please share any answers you might receive as I don’t have even one Liberal” that will speak to me. Even my own liberal family members no longer speak to me. I promise to print any answers but I doubt I will get any feedback as Liberals” never have an answer to anything I ask them. They just shrug their shoulders and walk away. I have no idea who compiled these questions and if anyone knows, tell me so I can give them credits.

Since only 8 million people have ObamaCare, how will 24 million people die after it is repealed? Will 16 million people be randomly shot?
If Donald Trump deleted all of his emails, wiped his server with Bleachbit and destroyed all of his phones with a hammer, would the Mainstream Media suddenly lose all interest in the story and declare him innocent?
If women do the same job for less money, why do companies hire men to do the same job for more money?
If you rob a bank in a Sanctuary City, is it illegal or is it just an ‘Undocumented Withdrawal’?
Each ISIS attack now is a reaction to Trump policies, but all ISIS attacks during Obama’s term were due to Climate Change and a plea for jobs. Why?
After the London ‘Lone Wolf’ terrorist attack government officials have arrested at least eight other ‘Lone Wolves’ who had conspired with the original ‘Lone Wolf’ in planning the ‘Lone Wolf’ attack. Even though all involved are Muslims, you can be assured, the ‘Lone Wolf’ attack has nothing at all to do with Islam, just like the other 1000 plus ‘Lone Wolf’ attacks by Muslims, are completely unassociated with Islam. Why?
We are scolded every day to stop calling “Freebies” ‘Entitlements’. Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, ad nauseum are not entitlements. They are taxpayer-funded handouts, and should be called, What?
Social Security and Veterans Benefits are Entitlements because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients. Why does the Media keep listing them with other Freebies?
If Muslims want to run away from a Muslim country, does that mean they’re Islamophobic?
If Liberals don’t believe in biological gender then why did they march for women’s rights?
If Trump was involved with the Russians hacking the Presidential election. How did the Russians get Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC to steal the Primary from Bernie Sanders? How did Russia get Donna Brazile to leak debate questions to Hillary Clinton in advance of the debates?
Why is it that Democrats think Super-delegates are necessary for their nominations, but they have a problem with the Electoral College? Aren’t they used for the same reasons?
If you don’t want the FBI involved in elections, why did the Democrats nominate someone who’s being investigated by the FBI.
If Hillary’s got paid $250,000 an hour for her speeches, how come no one showed up to her free ones?
The DNC is mad at Russia because they ‘think’ they are trying to manipulate our election by exposing that the DNC was manipulating our election, why?
Just one more thing on Trump’s ‘Locker Room Vocabulary’. Why is it that Liberals and the Media are upset about the words Trump used 11 years ago but they are comfortable with strange adult men using the Ladies Room with your Wives and Daughters? ANON
I feel sure I could keep adding more questions but the Liberals will ignore theses as no one forces them to follow the rules. If we has an honest media and Federal Employees that were not biased it would be nice to watch closely if any of these questions ever appear again. When the FBI can’t be trusted who can you trust?
If the Democrats were made to follow the rules and laws they would never get anyone elected at the national level again. Draining the swamp has been found to be wider and deeper than even Trump expected. Let’s all try to help.
For the past several months possibly billions of dollars of Liberal money has been spent hoping to defeat the recent tax reduction. They have bought 100% of the Democrats in Congress to scream at the top of their lungs that we need tax increases to keep funding our new segment of voters, the unemployed and underemployed welfare army, WHY?
The primary reason is that the over educated, uneducated and under educated American voters coupled with the welfare army can continue the Liberal/Progressive march to Socialism. The really sad thing to watch, if you care, is the and 95% Socialist and Communist professors in our higher education system that poison every day the young minds with their hate for freedoms. The really stupid part is the same professors can easily be imprisoned once they win their mission.
I received the following message from multiple sources that every American with any intelligence should read.
“The Trump administration released their annual Report to Congress on White House Office Personnel. It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees”.
“The report also said that Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary, instead he donated it to an amazing cause! (see below). I was able to check was true, plus Ivanka and Jarred are paid zero”.
“The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money than Obama was. The total annual White House salaries under Trump are $35.8 million vs. $40.9 under Obama, a savings of $5.1 million. Here are Some other key findings”.
“There are 110 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at this point in their respective presidencies”.
“Nineteen fewer staffers are dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS). Currently there are five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. 24 staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009)”.
“However, it’s what the report said Trump did with this salary that has everyone talking. Instead of taking his salary, Trump donated all $400,000 to the Department of the Interior where it will be used for construction and repair needs at military cemeteries! AMAZING! It’s so great to have a President who loves our brave military men and women so much”!
“Oh, and where’s the media coverage of this? Oh, that’s right, they don’t cover anything good that the President does”. ANON
Watching the news “FOX” today it was refreshing to see Walmart share their tax savings with their millions of employees. Since the tax relief legislation was enacted by Congress, without a single Democratic vote, in the House and Senate we watched an amazing number of American companies give significant bonuses to all employees.
Unless you watch Fox News you would never know the real value and help for the average working American. CNN and the other major networks have had lockjaw and little has been shared unless they could possibly gerrymander the facts into a disadvantage for Donald Trump.
I have a suggestion to make to the entire Democratic Party who opposed this help for everyone who works for a living. Let me propose a Democratic program to help all of those on welfare, every prisoner in America, 13 million illegals, 800,000 DACA aliens and the students who have been radicalized by Socialists Professors
Starting with the wealthy Democratic donors, some who hide from exposure, 100% of the Democratic Congresspersons, all liberal Government employees, all Progressives and every liberal employee in the Mainstream Media. You have to a person stated that the tax legislation would only help the rich. If everyone noted above would promise to donate every new dollar they will receive in the tax legislation decrease it could help the designated poor people in America including the aliens they love so dearly.
A picture of Pelosi and Schumer serving T Bones to the prisoners of a Federal “pokey” would be great publicity. A picture of George Soros lounging around with some inner city gang leaders would be dynamite. Watching Bill Clinton marching with a promo sign at a House of Ill Repute would really help show support for the working woman.
Should the “Donkey Party” accept my above challenges it might actually gain enough votes to get control of Congress again.
Let the 2018 political games begin. Trump is leading us to an America that will work for a living again. Then we will have no needs for the army of illegals who get welfare to exist. C Brewer 1-11.18
Stay with this — the answer is at the end.
One evening a grandson was talking to his grandfather about current events.
The grandson asked his grandfather what he thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general..
The Grandfather replied, “Well, let me think a minute, I was born before:
‘ polio shots
‘ frozen foods
‘ contact lenses
‘ Frisbees and
‘ the pill
There were no:
‘ credit cards
‘ laser beams or
‘ ball-point pens
Man had not invented :
‘ air conditioners
‘ clothes dryers
‘ and the clothes were hung out to dry in the fresh air and
‘ space travel was only in Flash Gordon books.
Your Grandmother and I got married first,… and then lived together..
Every family had a father and a mother.
I called every woman older than me, “mam”.
And after I turned 25, I still called policemen and every man with a title, “Sir.”
We were before gay-rights, computer-dating, dual careers, daycare centers, and group therapy.
Our lives were governed by the Bible, good judgment, and common sense.
We were taught to know the difference between right and wrong and to stand up and take responsibility for our actions.
Serving your country was a privilege; living in this country was a bigger privilege.
We thought fast food was eating half a biscuit while running to catch the school bus.
Having a meaningful relationship meant getting along with your cousins.
Draft dodgers were those who closed front doors as the evening breeze started.
Time-sharing meant time the family spent together in the evenings and weekends-not purchasing condominiums.
We never heard of FM radios, tape decks, CDs, electric typewriters, yogurt, or guys wearing earrings.
We listened to Big Bands, Jack Benny, and the President’s speeches on our radios.
And I don’t ever remember any kid blowing his brains out listening to Tommy Dorsey.
If you saw anything with ‘Made in Japan ‘ on it, it was junk the term ‘making out’ referred to how you did on your school exam.
Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, and instant coffee were unheard of.
We had 5 &10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents.
Ice-cream cones, phone calls, rides on a streetcar, and a Pepsi were all a nickel.
And if you didn’t want to splurge, you could spend your nickel on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.
You could buy a new Ford Coupe for $600, … but who could afford one? Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon.
In my day:
‘ “grass” was mowed,
‘ “coke” was a cold drink,
‘ “pot” was something your mother cooked in and
‘ “rock music” was your grandmother’s lullaby.
‘ “Aids” were helpers in the Principal’s office,
‘ “chip” meant a piece of wood,
‘ “hardware” was found in a hardware store and
‘ “software” wasn’t even a word.
And we were the last generation to actually believe that a lady needed a husband to have a baby. No wonder people call us “old and confused” and say there is a generation gap or from the archives.
How old do you think I am?
Are you ready ?
This man would be only 70 years old today. ANON
