“LIFE”, A MOUNTAIN EVERYONE WILL CLIMB! PART ONE.

After writing my last article, “Life is an Interesting Journey”, I received an interesting comment from my friend John Booker. “Clyde, I admire you for your attitude on your health problems”. For those who don’t know John Booker, I hope he will someday let me write some stories about his 94 year trip through life. It would be a best-selling book. John has been one of my inspirations during the climbing of my own mountain. He has inspired me again and if you wonder how your trip compares or what to expect is coming hang on to your seatbelt.

Have you ever wondered why some old people seem to just disappear when they get old? Until earlier this year I never really considered myself being “old”. In fact my mother lived to be 94 and except for her last couple of months she never even seemed “old”. It amuses me that when some folks discover I just celebrated my 85th birthday, they have different reactions. The one reaction that younger people have is, “you don’t look a day over 65 or 75”? A few of them have not looked in a mirror recently and most are just being kind.

Some of the things you will read were originally intended to be shared as another chapter of my life with just my family. I have already chronicled the details of my work and personal life with my family that included my personal goals, achievement’s and other major events, good and bad, for my future heirs to understand and hopefully be successful.

Now I have decided to share my perception, facts, highlights and expectations of what to expect nearing the end of the aging process with anyone who has an interest. I am sitting at my PC and my right knee throbbing with arthritis after 18 holes of par three golf this morning with five of my friends who ranged in age from 51-89. I will begin what may be a multi-chapter autobiography of pain, happiness, success, failure or boredom, who knows? Are you ready?

To set the stage, how many people do you know who have matched some of my highlights so far, in their trip climbing their mountain?

A. Had every childhood disease known except polio and had the chicken pox and measles at the same time.

B. Graduated from high school at 16.

C. Served 2 years in the US Navy, married and became a father before I was 20?

D. Entered Management at 24, passed the Registered Professional Engineer exam, received a Master Degree and became a member of Mensa and Intertel in my late 40’s without any undergraduate education.

E. Between the ages of 45 and 75 I lost half of my stomach because of ulcers, had a gall bladder that nearly ruptured, suffered shellfish poisoning, diverticulosis, high blood pressure, gout along with the arthritis in both shoulders and my right knee.

F. Visited and/or worked in 32 countries and 49 states; flew over three million miles of air travel; worked 32 years for Lockheed and Halliburton; started 9 businesses in 3 different countries and retired at 63 years old.

G. Married to my second wife and partner Norma for 55 years; fathered seven children and currently have 45 heirs including spouses ranging from 2 months to 66 years old.

Now let me begin explaining life as it happens after you know you have started the decent down the other side of life’s mountain.

Fasten your seatbelt again.

Earlier this year I started having a tingling sensation in both feet after having cold feet ever since I suffered the shellfish incident some ten years ago. This summer, while on vacation with some 32 of my family and friends I had a saliva gland stop up and get infected and appeared to have been cold cocked in my left jaw. One of my family posted a picture of this on Facebook with me at a Margarita machine that looked like I had a mouth full. Gout stopped my drinking life at 60, a long time ago.

Shortly after getting the infection medicated I lost my balance, fell, tore a muscle loose in my left thigh and arm and put a knot on my head. Norma said, “The cedar post my head encountered had more damage than my head”, indicating that I am hard headed. If you know me you know it’s all true. The torn muscle in my leg is and likely will always be tender as it will never heal. The tingling sensation in my feet had now reached my knees by the end of every day.

About a week later I fell again and tore another muscle in my left ankle, scraped the hide off of both lower legs and sluffed it off as being clumsy. Then driving home one day I had a light headed sensation and when I shared all of this with my doctor, Chad Moody, he decided I needed to see a cardiologists again. This happens about every 10 years and after another series of test they again found that I do have a heart and it is working like it is supposed to.

While visiting the cardiologists he noticed a twitch in my left index finger while resting my hands on my knees. He had me stand with my feet together and close my eyes and then stopped me from falling. His prognosis was I was in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease and immediately scheduled me with a Neurologist.

Well, after the Neurologists examined me, I was advised I am suffering from Neuropathy. I have read everything possible and there is no cure. I have never given up hope in my life and I will see this doctor again tomorrow to find out what to expect as my journey down the mountain progresses. If you care, I will continue to share my experience. I will tee off again in the morning with my friends before my 3pm appointment in Nacogdoches.   C Brewer

SENIOR CITIZENS BEWARE – PART TWO

Well it took me nearly four years and over 800 articles to successfully stir up a hornets nest. The “Senior Citizens Beware” article I posted recently, sharing the actual experience of a man in Arizona, finally stirred up some Liberals. The recap of his encounter with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or as it is better known, “Obamacare” flushed out some rather radical feedback. Next let me thank everyone that took the time to at least comment, both pro and con as feedback is always a sign that someone at least read your work. I have recapped some of the negative comments I received;

  1. Blatant Liar
  2. George Bush created the problem with “Medical Observations” not Obamacare.
  3. The problem with non-payment for “Medical Observations” has nothing to do with the ACA.
  4. My article is “Completely Inaccurate”
  5. I am a “hypocrite”.

You are free to read every word except #5 if you go to the published article on WordPress. I always approve every comment I receive if the language is civil, even the ones questioning my creditability and/or my sanity. The “hypocrite” accusation came by E mail from one of my golfing friends who said Lyndon Johnson was the creator of Medicare and my being on Medicare and criticizing it was dishonest.

This week I listened to President Obama stand with a straight face on TV and make the following statements;

  1. Our economy is the best shape it has ever been.
  2. Unemployment is not a problem anymore.
  3. I have elevated the respect for America worldwide as when I was elected it lower than China or Russia.

I feel sure my Progressive-Liberal critics and the entire national media would argue and complain about my wording. As usual they will all ignore Obama’s “blatant lies”. If the word “liar” had a picture beside it in a dictionary to describe what a liar looks like it would be President Obama. History will record that Obama was the most successful “Con Man” that ever lived on Earth. No one ever has or ever will be able to divide free people and destroy a nation faster than he has. He has surpassed Hitler in the speed of destroying a nation.

Let me share some facts for anyone who reads my articles, especially the ones who do not know me or my creditability. I volunteered to serve in the US Navy at 17. I spent 32 years in senior management positions for two fortune 500 companies. I started nine different businesses in three countries. I passed the Mensa Exam at the 99th percentile and was honored to be a member of Mensa and Intertel. I worked or visited in 32 countries and 49 states. I wrote a “Standard” for the American Petroleum Institute as an individual instead of by committee. I trained over 30,000 individuals in nine different countries in multiple subjects. I passed the Professional Engineering exam without a technical Degree. I received a Master’s Degree in Management with a GPA of 3.92 without an undergraduate degree. I chaired a National ASME Committee on Offshore oil and Gas Safety Valves for several years. I designed a Quality Management Systems for over 200 companies worldwide. I doubt that some of my own family know all of this.

My parents and God gave me a mind and I choose to fill and use it. I am one of very few people who actually achieved the self-satisfaction of meeting or exceeding every goal I ever set for myself. I am married to my second wife for over 54 years. I currently have 43 kids, grandkids and great grandkids, including spouses. Five are doctors, three are lawyers, several hold technical degrees or serve in management positions or business owners, one is a CPA and four are teachers or education specialists. One is also a member of Mensa and Intertel and passed the exam at 14. They range in age from one to sixty-six and I love them all.

I am fortunate to have many close friends who share their knowledge and correspondence with me that I selectively publish to share knowledge or create articles that are obviously ultraconservative as advertised by the title of my WordPress Blog. I usually try to identify my sources and I don’t or ever will question their honesty or ethics. If you disagree with my articles I always encourage and approve all comments.

Let me summarize the reason I published this article. If my writing annoys, upsets, causes you to suffer in any way, I did not make you read it. Maybe you should “STOP READING MY WORK!”

Until Obama, Hillary or other Progressive-Liberal nut cases get the first Amendment to the Constitution repealed I will write whatever I choose, whenever I choose as long as my two fingers can type. Learning requires full knowledge of a subject and I read more Liberal drivel than you would ever believe. I write to keep my old mind active and there are no charges to read my work. Like subsistence Obama provides for over 40 million lazy Americans it is free. If my writing makes you mad like it does to one of my daughters and two granddaughters, so be it.

For anyone who takes the time to read this and is older than 85, I honor you with my respect. For those younger my first wish is for you to be fortunate enough to live this long. My second wish is that you will share your knowledge and experiences with others.

Writing this article made me feel real good about the life I have lived and I hope it makes at least one other freedom loving American smile. Smiling is a way to make others smile, try it yourself.

AMERICAN “ROYALTY”- PART ONE

Over the next few weeks I will share a vision of a transformation I have watched as a Texas boy,  man and now an 80 year old senior citizen. The recent election, news reports of how Congress and the President have reacted prompted me to share these facts with anyone interested in living in a free country. Is is a fact that we are spending ourselves into a position that “will” reduce the most powerful country in the history of the world, to a second class society. Our President is hell-bent on re-aligning our country from a “Republic” of freedom to a socialist democracy.

For those who are interested in creditability I have been retired for nearly 17 years. I served in manager and executive positions for 27 years in the aerospace industry, 5 years in the oil industry and some 10 years in management consulting and training. I am a retired Registered Professional Engineer with a Master Degree in Management I am a retired member of Mensa, Intertel, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Petroleum and the American Society for Quality. My entire work life was associated with “Customer Satisfaction/ Quality”.  I have been fortunate to have worked or visited in 32 countries and 49 States. I have worked in;  Kingdoms and Emirates in the middle east; Socialist countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France and others; Algeria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Scotland, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore; Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, Canada. You will note that many of these countries are dominately Muslim. I have also done work for companies in Columbia and India. I joined the U.S. Navy at 17 and served nearly 3.5 years on active duty before my 21st birthday.

Growing up in Texas in the 1930’s was not as pleasant as life today. My first 9 years of school were in Corsicana, Texas. A town of 33% gentiles, 33% Colored, 33% Jewish and 1% who had some money. As most families were either poor, poorer and poorest I never realized we were poor. Texas had nothing but conservative democrats, and Lyndon Johnson. My first realization that people who did have money were not all misers. We had a Andrew Carnegie library that provided me the opportunity to read and learn free at my will. I give this library credit for the beginning of my ability to reach my full potential and success in my life at 63. None of the above countries where I have worked provide the freedoms to allow you to reach your full potential. What scares me is that my heirs will lose this freedom if we the people do not reduce the power of government and alter the current plans of the “American Royalty”.

Over the years we have seen political office holders at every level from County, State, and nationally change from public servants to full-time “Royalty”. Now political offices are full time occupations. The level of “Royalty” is adjusted at each level. When you get to Congress, the Executive and the Judicial branches of our government, the advantages of “Royalty” increase exponentially higher.

To capture your interest in following this series let me use one example that has been predominate in the news this week. This involves Mr. Charles Rangel. The only thing I have in common with Mr. Rangel is that we are both 80. To illustrate the fact that Mr. Rangel has “Royalty Status”, let me state some facts.

1. He has been charged of hiding $600,000.00 in assets ( he says it was an oversight). 2. Failure to pay income tax on offshore assets (he says this was an oversight). 3. Paying his lawyers with illegal funds ( nothing said yet). 4. Zoning infractions in his home district offices ( a misunderstanding). 5. Misuse of free mailing privileges ( I have not heard his response). This is just a sample of the 13 charges he was tried on by a congressional committee just this week. He was convicted on 11 of the charges. I have seen nothing in the news to even say he has paid the back taxes which I doubt as an individual. Let me go on record today, 11-18-2010, and say that his punishment will be, at most, a slap on the wrist and some form of documented sanction that will mean nothing.

Now let me compare this using me, just a common person, as an example of the way us “Non-Royals” would be treated. Hiding assets would get me a prison term, a fine and ruin my life. Income tax evasion would get me a penalty, a fine and an audit every year for the rest of my life. Using illegal funds would get me a fine and prison sentence for money laundering. Zoning infractions would result in a fine as a minimum. Mis-use of the postal system would get me a fine and prison sentence for mail fraud.

If these events alone do not convience you we have a “Royalty” class in America, just read the entire series.

The democratic/progressive/environmentalist leaders had their hand called in the race to socialize America in the last election. Now the republicans have one more chance to show they can manage and lead the country. If they fail this time America will be a one party system and a virtual Kingdom. I will explain my reasoning for this in Part Two.
