THE LAWYERS’ PARTY, WOW!

My friend, Peter Forrest sent this to me and without question this research is astounding facts that tell a real story. The author asked this to be shared and it gives me great pleasure to share this with everyone I know and a request that you do the same. It is a shame that even FOX will not share this. The media is owned by lawyers too.   C Brewer

A LAWYER WITH A BRIEFCASE CAN STEAL MORE THAN A THOUSAND MEN WITH GUNS.

This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way.

The Lawyers’ Party

By Bruce Walker

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers Party.

Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a lawyer.

Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer.

John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards was a lawyer.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate).

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:

Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush is a businessman.

Vice President Cheney is a businessman.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

Newt Gingrich was a history professor.

Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.

House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.

The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail?…Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation. This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become adverse parties of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big.

When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the world’s lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97 % of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

Please — DO PASS THIS ON

I just did.  Trump has proved he is not a lawyer. CB

DONALD TRUMP – A PREDICTION!

I have no idea who wrote this but in today’s world nothing would surprise me. I am posting this because I agree that if he gets nominated there are not enough people to protect him from danger. In my 85 years I have never seen as much opposition and hate expressed for one single American as what is surrounding “The Donald”. He will make life miserable for every power broker and career politician in America as well as the cartels in Mexico. I ask you to save this message and then see how long he lasts if elected. America needs Trump but he has a target on his back larger than any American in history. C Brewer

The Prediction……ANON

They will kill him before they let him be president. It could be a Republican or a Democrat that instigates the shutting up of Trump. Don’t be surprised if Trump has a heart or attack or an accident…

Agree or disagree? Why?

The dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump. For him or against him, this is an interesting read… It’s going to be an exciting year with Donald in the race…

Some people are getting very nervous: Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and Jon Corzine, to name just a few.

It’s about the unholy dynamics between big government, big business and big media. They all benefit by the billions of dollars from this partnership, and it’s in all of their interests to protect one another. It’s one for all and all for one. It’s a heck of a filthy relationship that makes everyone filthy rich — everyone except the American people. We get ripped off.

We’re the patsies.

But for once, the powerful socialist cabal and the corrupt crony capitalists are scared. I’ve never seen them this outraged, this vicious, this motivated or this coordinated. Never in all my years in politics have I seen anything like the way the mad dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump. The over-the-top reaction to Trump by politicians of both parties, the media and the biggest corporations of America has been so swift and insanely angry that it suggests they are all threatened and frightened like never before.

Donald Trump can self-fund that amount tomorrow and still have another billion left over to pour into the last two-week stretch run before Election Day. No matter how much they say to the contrary, the media, business and political elite understand that Trump is no joke. He could actually win and upset their nice cozy apple cart. It’s no coincidence that everyone has gotten together to destroy The Donald. It’s because most of the other politicians are part of the “old boys club.” They talk big, but in the end they won’t change a thing. They are all beholden to big-money donors. They are all owned by lobbyists, unions, lawyers, gigantic environmental organizations and multinational corporations like Big Pharma or Big Oil. Or they are owned lock, stock and barrel by foreigners like George Soros owns Obama or foreign governments own Hillary with their Clinton Foundation donations.

These run-of-the-mill establishment politicians are all puppets owned by big money. But there’s one man — and only one man — who isn’t beholden to anyone. There’s one man who doesn’t need foreigners, or foreign governments, or George Soros, or the United Auto Workers, or the teachers union, or the Service Employees International Union, or the bar association to fund his campaign. Billionaire tycoon and maverick Donald Trump doesn’t need anyone’s help. That means he doesn’t care what the media says. He doesn’t care what the corporate elites think. That makes him very dangerous to the entrenched interests. That makes Trump a huge threat. Trump can ruin everything for the bribed politicians and their spoiled slave masters.

Don’t you ever wonder why the GOP has never tried to impeach Obama? Don’t you wonder why John Boehner and Mitch McConnell talk a big game, but never actually try to stop Obama? Don’t you wonder why Congress holds the purse strings, yet has never tried to defund Obamacare or Obama’s clearly illegal executive action on amnesty for illegal aliens? Bizarre, right? It defies logic, right? I’d guess many key Republicans are being bribed. I believe many key Republicans are being blackmailed. Whether they are having affairs, or secretly gay, or stealing taxpayer money, the National Security Agency knows everything.

Ask former House Speaker Dennis Hastert about that. The government even knew he was withdrawing large sums of his own money from his own bank account. Trust me: The NSA, the SEC, the IRS and all the other three-letter government agencies are watching every Republican political leader. The government even knew he was withdrawing large sums of his own money from his own bank account.

They know everything. Many Republicans are petrified of being called “racists.” So they are scared to ever criticize Obama or call out his crimes, let alone demand his impeachment. Why rock the boat? After defeat or retirement, if you’re a “good boy,” you’ve got a $5 million-per-year lobbying job waiting. The big-money interests have the system gamed. Win or lose, they win.

But Trump doesn’t play by any of these rules. Trump breaks up this nice, cozy relationship between big government, big media and big business. All the rules are out the window if Trump wins the presidency. The other politicians will protect Obama and his aides — but not Trump. Remember: Trump is the guy who publicly questioned Obama’s birth certificate. He questioned Obama’s college records and how a mediocre student got into an Ivy League university. Now, he’s doing something no Republican has the chutzpah to do. He’s questioning our relationship with Mexico; questioning why the border is wide open; questioning why no wall has been built across the border; questioning if allowing millions of illegal aliens into America is in our best interests; questioning why so many illegal aliens commit violent crimes yet are not deported; and questioning why our trade deals with Mexico, Russia and China are so bad.

Trump has the audacity to ask out loud why American workers always get the short end of the stick. Good question. I’m certain Trump will question what happened to the almost billion dollars given in a rigged no-bid contract to college friends of Michelle Obama at foreign companies to build the defective Obamacare website. By the way, that tab is now up to $5 billion.

Trump will ask if Obamacare’s architects can be charged with fraud for selling it by lying. Trump will investigate Obama’s widespread IRS conspiracy, not to mention Obama’s college records. Trump will prosecute Clinton and Obama for fraud committed to cover up Benghazi before the election. How about the fraud committed by employees of the Labor Department when they made up dramatic job numbers in the last jobs report before the 2012 election?

Obama, the multinational corporations and the media need to stop this. They recognize this could get out of control. If left unchecked telling the raw truth and asking questions everyone else is afraid to ask, Trump could wake a sleeping giant. Trump’s election would be a nightmare. Obama has committed many crimes. No one else but Trump would dare to prosecute. He will not hesitate. Once Trump gets in and gets a look at “the cooked books” and Obama’s records, the game is over. The gig is up. The goose is cooked. Holder could wind up in prison. Jarrett could wind up in prison. Obama bundler Corzine could wind up in prison for losing $1.5 billion of customer money. Clinton could wind up in jail for deleting 32,000 emails, or for accepting bribes from foreign governments while secretary of state, or for “misplacing” $6 billion as the head of the State Department, or for lying about Benghazi. The entire upper level management of the IRS could wind up in prison. Obamacare will be defunded and dismantled. The Obama crime family will be prosecuted for crimes against the American people. And Obama himself could wind up ruined, his legacy in tatters. Trump will investigate. Trump will prosecute. Trump will go after everyone involved. That’s why the dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump.

Yes, it’s become open season on Donald Trump. The left and the right are determined to attack his policies, harm his businesses, and, if possible, even keep him out of the coming debates. But they can’t silence him. And they sure can’t intimidate him. The more they try, the more the public will realize that he’s the one telling the truth. And the left can’t stand that.

Wow, this got my attention and as I said, nothing would surprise me anymore as America has been moving toward self-destruction at warp speed for too many years. I pray that Trump gets elected so I can watch the fat lady sing before I croak. CB

MERRY CHRISTMAS ANYWAY!

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends, but it is so difficult in today’s world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So, I met with my lawyer yesterday and on his advice, I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the solstice holiday, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2015, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that our country is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the recipient.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

Disclaimer: No trees were harmed in the sending of this message. However, a significant number of electrons were slightly inconvenienced. Happy ______ … whatever floats your boat!

Thanks Dr. Forrest for sharing this message and let me wish everyone a very Happy New Year.  C Brewer

AFFORDABLE ATTORNEY ACT!

The recent article I posted, “THE AFFORDABLE BOAT ACT”, resulted in over 1000 people who I hope realized how ridiculous Congress and Obama’s vision is for America’s future. Obama and his band of Progressive-Liberal Democrats, have created more need for an “Affordable Gun Act” as their scare tactics have armed Americans for a war with each other. The increased price of guns and ammunition has far our paced healthcare. Can you imagine a government subsidy for poor people and illegal aliens to buy guns and ammo to steal more wealth from the people who create jobs and saved for their retirement?

The “ObamaScare Act” was just another illusion designed to nationalize and control this huge portion of our economy. This has been another step in nationalizing anything the Progressives desire. They are not in a hurry as we watch them intensify the destruction of the finance industry. Makes you wonder what comes next after they allow 13 million aliens to become American citizens.

Do you honestly believe that we would have the current healthcare debacle if Doctors, instead of Lawyers and bureaucrats, were allowed to improve our healthcare system? Lawyers can’t even agree on what the current law actually implies or how it is applied and controlled. We have nine Supreme Court Justices, all law school graduates, who can’t even read our Constitution the same way. Lawyers and members of Congress are required by law to be honest and ethical but look who evaluates their performance? Lawyers and members of Congress, not business men, Doctors, plumbers or even the jury system unless they kill someone.

Lawyers and members of congress should be required to buy malpractice insurance as they destroy the lives of more Americans that all of the doctors in the world. Listening and reading about the reduced coverage for seniors and the unrealistic cost increases for working Americans to have insurance coverage is unbelievable. ObamaScare was enacted 100% by the Progressive-Liberal Democrats to wreck the healthcare insurance industry and to eventually enact “HillaryCare” they tried to force on Americans 20 years ago. These demented leaders will never be satisfied until the government can finally eliminate all “States Rights” and control every aspect of our lives from Washington D.C.

Hang on to your seatbelt and prepare yourself for 100% government control of every aspect of healthcare from cradle to grave. You will receive whatever coverage some bureaucrat decides is best for the government. All doctors will be paid the same amount for every procedure from a snotty nose to organ transplants. The incentive for young people to become a doctor will be nothing as they will continue to be paid less than a plumber as they are today.

I was advised last week that reimbursement for my annual PSA test will no longer be paid for by Medicare. It appears that most preventive tests for people over 75 will be part of the cuts in our coverage. I am 83, blessed in rather good health, and my mother lived to 94. Prostate cancer is inevitable for every man if he lives long enough. The local fee for the PSA test is $156.00. Can you imagine how much it will cost if I get cancer. I suppose the bureaucrats pray it will be fatal rather than lingering as it certainly will not be cheaper if I receive medical treatment. Would my doctor or accountant agree? No.

I still correspond with a doctor that saved my life a few years ago, long before Obamacare. He shared with me some of the unnecessary and expensive paper work required to treat seniors like me under Medicare. About five years ago he closed his practice and became a “Hospitalist Doctor” in another State. He was sick of the paperwork, reporting requirements, waiting months to be paid for his work and spending more time with paperwork than “doctoring” actual people. He sent me a message one day telling me he experienced a stopped up toilet and it costs $150 an hour to get a plumber to fix it. A few days later his computer went berserk and he had to pay the “Geek Squad” $125 an hour to find and eliminate the little gremlins running wild inside the box. The point he made was that he was paid $96 an hour to save people’s lives which seemed an inequity. He finally gave up Doctoring and is now working in the financial industry that is more rewarding as the Lawyers don’t know how to totally screw them up, yet. They are trying and Congress has enacted some laws to attempt to control them closer. The only losers are those of us who depend on savings to enjoy retirement. They will eventually enact enough new laws to destroy the free enterprise system which is also a Progressive-Liberal long-term goal.

I gathered some very interesting statistics I wish to share. We currently have 100 Senators and 60 of them are Lawyers. We have 435 members in the House of Representatives, 162 of them are Lawyers. That computes to the fact that 43% of Congress members are Lawyers. To let you see the balance we have 33 doctors in Congress.

Those statistics did not surprise me but when I dug a little deeper I now understand why we are in deep dodo. These figures coupled with common sense certainly justify the need to enact the “Affordable Attorney Act” (AAA), and fast. The latest numbers I could find were for 2008, this was no surprise. In 2008 we had 303,824,640 people in the United States. We had 1,128,729 Lawyers and 661,400 Doctors and that blew my socks off. We have two Lawyers for every Doctor.

The last time I needed legal help I was quoted a fee of $400 an hour. The last hour I spent with my Doctor, Medicare was billed for $110 probably paid $60. The Doctor helped me and the Lawyer fee made me sick. Poor people are screwed if they need legal help but Congress is hell-bent on punishing Doctors by reducing and controlling what they can be paid.

Congress has totally screwed up healthcare. It is now time for the “AAA” but never fear it will never happen. We should nationalize all of the nation’s law schools and standardize exactly what a Lawyer can do and how much he can charge. Why not cap the payments for Lawyers like we do for Doctors. Allow them to charge $500 for a divorce, $200 for a will, $2,000 to defend a murderer and no more for an hour of their time than a Doctor can charge. The only ones who will scream about this are Lawyers and the Lawyers in Congress who can’t make a living chasing ambulances and become career politicians. Progressive-Liberal Democrats have about as much common sense as a drunk monkey. Unfortunately if they nominated a drunk monkey for our next President, too many women, most young folks, all welfare receivers, all aliens and enough dead people will elect “It”. I used the term “it” on purpose as it appears our next President will be Hillary.

Demand that we allow Doctors to control the best healthcare system in the world before the Lawyers completely destroy it. Let the insurance companies cross State lines, eliminate frivolous law suits and force all Lawyers to face the same malpractice exposure when they take a case and lose it.

How do you feel??????????????????

LEADERSHIP

God and my parents gave me a mind and I made the decision to learn as much as possible in my lifetime. My goal every day is to learn something. Over the last three years I have posted over 630 articles on this blog in an attempt to share my conservative values and 83 years of experience, education and life as a free man. Two things motivated me to take the time to do this. One of my closest friends urged and helped me create this blog to share my writing ability. The second reason was watching America slowly lose its desire to be free and watching the rabid environmental extremists, Christian hating lawyers and politicians destroy the very things that made this country so great.

I sat down recently and made a list of traits that history has recorded as the reason we became the greatest free society in history. I have written two recent articles on Respect and Honesty and now, Leadership. I plan to continue to remind all Americans of how we have lost direction by comparing individual traits to current events or individuals. I am documenting factual comparisons to hopefully wake up those who are as disappointed as myself with the way our Republic is being destroyed from within. I am using Wikipedia as my source of defining the terms to stay consistent.

“Leadership has been described as “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.”

I found that there are hundreds of other in-depth definitions of leadership. Next is an additional Wikipedia quote.

“Leadership is “organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal. The leader may or may not have any formal authority. Studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, function, behavior, power, vision and values, charisma, and intelligence, among others. Somebody whom people follow: somebody who guides or directs others”.

Now, I could bore you to death by quoting thousands of other philosophical passages that history has recorded. I am certain you expect the rest of this article to be another messed about the complete lack of leadership in our government. If I chose to just list the specific lack of our current supposedly leaders we have today, I would never finish. Before I reveal a specific event to watch, just absorb the following.

George Washington was a “Leader” and was surrounded with many others, too many to list. With maybe a few Presidents who actually tried to lead America we now have the worst leader in history who is nothing more than a raciest hell bent on destroying America. He has convinced 90% of African Americans to believe they control America and its future forever. To quote someone unknown, “If our forefathers had even dreamed what is happening today they would have picked their own cotton.” Today’s Black leaders in power are dividing America rather than actually becoming Americans instead of Black Americans. They will fail over time and look back and I hope remember my quotation. “Black Americans will regret the days they choose to go on welfare rather than pick vegetables for a living.”

Obama and his hate filled team has degraded, attacked, threatened, and thumbed their nose at the growing Hispanic population. The really surprising thing to me is he has conned the majority of white weaklings and 99% of all Hispanics to follow him to the like the Pied Piper leading the rats to the ocean to drown. He has no future worries as he is a multi-millionaire, destined for a lavish retirement in Hawaii, protected by the Secret Service, worshiped by the media and paid for by you for the rest of his life.

My primary objective with this article is to discuss how leaderless the Hispanic people are, have been and sadly look like they always will be. Someday if they ever wake up and find someone that they will accept as a leader who makes them Americans rather than Cubans, Mexicans, etc. they can return America to its past greatness.

Living in Texas gives me a perspective and vision of just how leaderless the Mexican people are following a bunch of leaders who are as bad as or worse than Obama and his mesmerized racist band of rabid Blacks like Eric Holder.

Trying to turn Texas into a Mexican territory like California is a big mistake. If they ever become smart, change direction and become Americans they can lead their people into a better and productive life and escape poverty their current leaders beg for. They could then teach the Blacks how to mow yards, pick vegetables and stand on the street corners in Houston begging for work and being exploited.

There are current Hispanic leaders emerging who know that sharing the welfare with Blacks is stupid. We have Black leaders who fully understand this but the Blacks will never follow them. You have read my feelings in other articles and I have predicted that the Hispanics will wake up and follow a real young leader like Ted Cruz someday. He is a leader and if he can just get support of his people, will lead them to a prosperous future.

A note to all Blacks who have no common sense, you had your opportunity to become leaders and choose a con man rather than someone with integrity to follow.

A similar note to all Hispanics with any common sense, learn to speak English, find a real leader and live a free and better life than your ancestors.

A note to all Americans who have lost their minds. We don’t have any leaders to follow because and we have let the tree huggers totally destroy nearly everything we once enjoyed. Before all of the unnecessary regulations anyone that wanted to work could find a job. Teenagers could work instead of joining gangs. Kids could sneak a smoke on a grapevine instead of drugs. Boys married the girls they knocked up and helped raise the child. Arabs still have the worlds greatest reserves of sand instead of our currency as we buy oil instead of producing it. Remember who to thank, as someday you will be the ones mowing yards and picking vegetables again. Thanks to Eli Whitney and technology we have machines to pick and process cotton today. Prepare yourself for the next civil war I have previously written about.

My next subject will be on “Success” which is the opposite of “Failure”. We have suffered without enough common sense far too long.

REPUBLICAN SUICIDE WATCH- AGAIN!

It never seems to amaze me how conservative republican politicians can be so egotistical to destroy each other. When they do get elected they choose to openly find ways to disagree with each other and never find a cohesive plan to present to the voters.

All the democrats have to do is create chaos; delay everything; force the republicans to fight with each other; revive all of their dead voters; overfund the unions; promise the sky to the loafers on welfare; then sit back and watch the republicans slaughter each other. It does not take a wizard to see that the republicans will eventually create another third party and lose again by family “incest”.

Just watch next week as the republicans desert their conservative promises and see the democrats win the battle for more spending. Why can’t we find republicans brave enough to shut the government down and straighten up the spending madness? Someone will when we go bankrupt.

I was born a conservative democrat as we had no admitted republicans in Texas. After Lyndon Johnson’s successful ability to enhance our march towards socialism, I became a republican. Nixon created a lot of doubt for me with his ego trip that ended his term in shame. Reagan made me proud to openly admit I was a republican. Daddy Bush got caught up in a democratic trap and his tax increases doomed his tenure as President. Clinton strengthened my belief in the need for conservative leadership and finally we outlasted his assault on freedoms and our military when his term expired. Next we got George, “RINO”, Bush who is a progressive republican and his race to make the Muslim world love democracy. He proved we can’t buy love from anyone. I did not forget Carter and Ford; I just could not remember anything they did that was sensible and work consumed most of my time.

After eight years of Bush my loyalty to the Republican Party disappeared. I voted for McCain only because his progressive record compared to Obama’s made him look like Attila the Hun when it came to being conservative. So far Obama has made Carter look more like Lincoln when you compare the scale of their damage to free enterprise. Obama has done more to destroy our freedoms than FDR, LBJ, Carter, Nixon, Clinton combined. These people served a total of some 34 years as President and Obama has surpassed their total malpractice in less than 3 years.

The 2010 elections that returned the House to republican control really boosted my spirits. Politicians from nearly every state flooded my mailbox begging for my contributions. I actually felt like we were going to see some real backbone show up to rescue us from mismanagement. That lasted about two months and then the newly elected republicans divided the party and choose to attack each other. This made the future for the progressives look better each day as they have the republicans backed against the wall again.

If this is not bad enough we have nine egomaniac’s trying to get the republican nomination. The media, including Fox News, has exploited this group into destroying each other. They just can’t seem to challenge Obama’s madness as a team and maybe defeat him next year. Listening and watching them exploit the weakness of each every day is sad. The wealth of mistakes they have exposed on each other is the most valuable thing Obama will have to defeat the one who survives next year. This is like a coach giving his play book to his opponent and wondering how they knew how to win the game. I have seen so many weaknesses exposed by the “Nasty Nine” it will be difficult to decide which one to vote for knowing they will lose anyway.

Who in their right mind, other than an egomaniac or an ambulance chaser, would really desire to run for elective office at any level? Our growing welfare society is now in control of every politician. Look at the pandering of all politicians to gain the support of the illegal aliens as an example. Any politician in Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California who openly challenges the aliens is destined for defeat. No politician has the courage to enforce our immigration laws and it is just a matter of time until our official language will be Spanish.

I suppose I am destined to just keep voting against the most liberal one running and pray a conservative will win some day. You can be sure of one thing I will do is vote at every level possible trying to save our Republic from Socialism or worse.

God Bless Texas and God Bless America.   CB

EDUCATION TEXAS- A TOTAL DISASTER

Just when I thought no one could outspend Obama, this article was sent to me by a daughter who gets a newspaper. Living in rural Texas limits ones access to daily newsprint. Can anyone with any common sense explain to me the logic associated with this unbelievable fiasco, other than stupidity? The Texas education program is beyond stupid. Our Governor, legislature and the Texas Education Agency have created so many unfunded programs to require more teachers, then cut the budgets so success is impossible. I am now convinced that Washington D.C. may have more incompetents but Austin Texas has to have more per capita. I hope this reaches as many Texans as possible. CB

Texas Taxpayers Finance Formula One Auto Races as Schools Dismiss Teachers

By Darrell Preston and Aaron Kuriloff

Texas, which may balance its budget by firing thousands of teachers, plans to commit $25 million in state funds to Formula One auto racing each year for a decade.

Four years after motorsports’ most popular series left the U.S., Texas investors including Clear Channel Communications Inc. co-founder B.J. “Red” McCombs are building a 3.4-mile (5.5-kilometer) track to bring the event to Austin. Comptroller Susan Combs has agreed to pay $25 million for races through 2022, a subsidy questioned by critics and lawmakers as the state cuts costs to close an estimated $15 billion two-year deficit.

“I don’t understand why 25 people in Austin could not put up $1 million each if they thought this was a good opportunity instead of the state making a $25 million commitment,” said Senator Dan Patrick, a Houston Republican. “The developers should find the money through private sources.”

As many as 100,000 teachers in Texas may be fired because of spending cuts to cope with the state’s budget crisis, according to Moak Casey & Associates, an Austin-based education consultant. For $25 million a year, the state could pay more than 500 teachers an average salary of $48,000.

“I have to wonder why the state of Texas is all over funding for this racetrack and not the school-funding crisis,” said Ewa Siwak, 44, who teaches German in the Austin Independent School District and whose job at Bowie High School is being cut. “Tax dollars for education should be a higher priority.”

No Traction

Formula One races have failed to gain traction previously in the U.S. Since the 1970s, the series has been hosted by Long Beach, California, as well as Las Vegas, Detroit, Dallas, Phoenix and, most recently, Indianapolis. The races there ended in 2007 on declining attendance.

With 20 million Texans within 250 miles of Austin and a growing Formula One fan base in Mexico, the city’s annual race will be successful, Steve Sexton, president of track developer Circuit of the Americas LLC, said in a telephone interview.

By building the Circuit of the Americas track, backers aim to attract automakers such as Fiat SpA (F)’s Ferrari Group, Renault SA (RNO) and Daimler AG (DAI)’s Mercedes that compete in Catalonia, Shanghai and Istanbul. Racing-team owners include U.K. billionaire Richard Branson and Indian liquor magnate Vijay Mallya. Races from Montreal to Sao Paulo draw thousands of fans, including those paying $1,200 apiece for a seat in Monaco’s grandstands.

Each race in Austin is projected to generate enough tax revenue to recoup the $25 million from a state Event Trust Fund pool, according to Allen Spelce, a spokesman for Combs, a Republican. He said the plan calls for putting the $25 million into a revolving account for paying annual event-related costs.

$250 Million Subsidy

If the financing works as projected, the decision will use $250 million in state tax revenue for the races over 10 years.

“With places struggling, spending that much money on an essentially one-off event is tough to do,” said Michael Cramer, a former president of baseball’s Texas Rangers and hockey’s Dallas Stars who runs the sports and media program at the University of Texas at Austin. “It’s a very high cost of entry.”

Texas, like other states cutting budgets for schools, nursing homes and basic services, uses economic-development spending to bring in jobs and seed growth. That often involves giving up tax revenue generated by a project to pay part of the cost. New Jersey is providing $200 million of tax-increment financing to help develop the American Dream in the Meadowlands, which will be the biggest mall in the U.S. when it opens.

“I’m not sure of the wisdom of using tax dollars to fund a racetrack,” said Siwak, the Austin teacher. “They’re giving so much tax dollars away I don’t think they could make it up with the racetrack.”

Economic Outlook

Combs’s office estimates a Formula One race in Austin next year will spur $300 million of spending, Spelce said in an e- mailed statement. Construction of the $242 million track, which has begun, is projected to add 1,300 temporary jobs and pump $400 million into the economy. The venue will seat 120,000 fans.

The state isn’t investing in the track development, Spelce said in the e-mail. He said the Legislature authorized the use of the money from the Major Events Trust Fund in 2009.

“The funding generated by the activity offsets the state’s investment,” Spelce said. “It is important that the state continue to generate new economic activity to ensure that Texas continues to grow.”

Formula One racing attracts the wealthy who sponsor teams and draws fans from around the world, said Zak Brown, chief executive officer of Just Marketing Inc., an agency based in Zionsville, Indiana. JMI, as it’s known, focuses on motorsports.

Sport for Wealthy

“It’s a lifestyle of the rich and famous,” Brown said in a telephone interview. “The whole industry has a lot of wealth around it, a lot of politics.”

The cost of holding races has made it too expensive for sponsors without a public subsidy, said Mark Cipolloni, president of AutoRacing1 Inc. in Robbinsville, New Jersey. The company runs a website that covers motorsports.

“It isn’t cost-effective for an independent race,” Cipolloni said. “Most races in major cities wouldn’t be held without public support.”

The state’s $25 million is being paid to London-based Formula One Management Ltd. to hold the race in Austin, Sexton said. Formula One, owned by London-based CVC Capital Partners Ltd., a private-equity firm, is run by Bernie Ecclestone, the chief executive officer of the series.

“It’s going to Mr. Ecclestone and Formula One to get them to bring the event here,” Sexton said.

Outside Intended Use

Paying such a fee goes beyond the intended use of the state fund, which was set up to support bringing annual events to Texas by rebating increased taxes they generate to cover costs including security and traffic control, said Richard Viktorin, an accountant with Audits in the Public Interest. The Austin- based group opposes government support for the races.

In the past, the event fund has been used to subsidize professional football’s Super Bowl championship game, college basketball’s Final Four tournament and business meetings such as a Chick-fil-A Inc. convention.

“It’s off-balance-sheet financing for a rich man’s sport,” Viktorin said. Combs is “supposed to be a fiscal officer for the state. She’s not controlling that fund.”

Formula One participants and sponsors have wanted to return to the U.S. since 2007, when the last race was run in Indianapolis, Ecclestone said in a telephone interview. Indianapolis began hosting the event in 2000. Interest waned after defective tires led most entrants to withdraw in 2005.

U.S. Venue

“No one wanted to hold it,” Ecclestone said, until the Austin promoters stepped in. “Carmakers and team sponsors are also keen to have a race in the U.S. to help leverage their backing of teams.”

Formula One’s popularity has declined in the U.S., partly because there haven’t been any races in the country in recent years and partly from a lack of successful American drivers since Eddie Cheever and Mario Andretti, JMI’s Brown said.

“It’s moved around,” said Brown, who praised the Austin track’s design. “There was a 10-year period where there was no Grand Prix,” or Formula One race, in the U.S, he said.

The Austin event is expected to benefit from its proximity to Mexico and South America, where the series has grown in popularity, said Ecclestone. Austin’s city government also may invest $4 million a year in tax revenue to facilitate the event, the Austin-American Statesman reported. The city hasn’t been asked to provide any incentives, said Matt Curtis, a spokesman for Mayor Lee Leffingwell.

Tourism ‘Booster’

“It’s going to be a major booster in our convention and tourism industry,” Curtis said. The “return is very significant.”

Formula One races won’t be the track’s only use. Developers have booked international championship motorcycle races, called MotoGP, starting in 2013, Sexton said. He said they’re also trying to bring in concerts, conferences and other events.

Austin and the state are unlikely to recover their investment directly, Cipolloni said. However, the race will expose the city to a wide audience of tourists and executives that could help recruit companies and create jobs, he said.

“They won’t collect tax money equal to the $25 million” from the state, Cipolloni said. “It’s just a way to get exposure for the city.”

Sexton, a former president of Churchill Downs Inc. (CHDN)’s horse track in Louisville, Kentucky, which hosts the Kentucky Derby, agreed that events at the Austin circuit will do more than just generate new tax revenue.

“It will bring in an affluent audience that has never been to the city,” Sexton said. “It should have a substantial economic impact.”

EDUCATION- A SUMMARIZATION

For the past several weeks I have written and posted numerous articles on https://cb75948.wordpress.com . All of the articles on education in Texas have been printed in the Sabine County Reporter thanks to Stephanie Corley.

The surprises I have discovered from factual sources have been unbelievable. Unfortunately less than one percent of the source information has been found in the main stream media. Mountains of information are available on the internet and I wonder how much is read by the general public? Based on the feedback I have received, most people other than teachers; really do not care about children’s education. I suppose that parents today are too involved with other matters and expect teachers to formulate both education and discipline for their children.

For those of you who live in a state with unionized teachers and administrators, you have let the politicians destroy public education. Unions and liberal elected politicians have sold their soul at the expense of your children. It is sad to read about the waste of adequate education to feather the bed of supposed professional educators with retirement benefits that are outlandish at best. Teachers who are paid in excess of $100,000.00 a year to do nothing, because they can’t be terminated because of tenure, is stupid. Creation of Fraudulent insurance arrangements that line the pockets of the unionized teachers is shameful.

In Texas we do not suffer with unionized teachers, yet. Unfortunately a teacher must align with a teachers group if they desire to purchase liability insurance. In Texas our politicians have let the university level educators create so many shadow groups aligned with or part of the Texas Education Agency (TEA); K-12 education is being destroyed. Sadly these tenured professors and money hungry administrators have our Governor and legislators mesmerized with trying to make every student a rocket scientist, doctor, and God forbid a lawyer.

Spending time with administrators in our local K-12 district has awakened me to the fact that we have major problems in the future. Professionals at this level have not even been contacted regarding the impact of additional credits now required to graduate from high school. The majority of these children will never attend a college or university. The peer pressure of lower grade diplomas will create an increase in drop outs of academically limited students. I have not read one article in the media that has addressed this obvious train wreck. Texas politicians will never understand what they have allowed to happen if it ran over them in the parking lot.

Texas allocation of funds to local school districts is a mockery of common sense. Politicians created the mess when they screwed up the property tax system. Rather than admitting they blew it, they spent millions developing a system no one understands called WADA. This added more costs to the small school districts that I have already posted. The new STAAR testing program, that I previously reported will go down in flames but we will have wasted a billion dollars. By then the State Senators who allowed this to happen will be retired and care less. It would be nice to know if any of our legislators own stock in the testing contractor.

As the Texas legislature has yet to finalize the massive budget reductions for education, it is impossible to evaluate the impact locally for the children. I will continue to monitor the situations and report my findings.
