LIFE’S MEDICAL EVENT’S!

When you read this you will know why you will receive nothing from me next week. I will have knee replacement Surgery early in the morning, June 4th 2018. I wanted to share some medical history that you might encounter in your lifetime. If you do not know me and hope to live as long as I have this might help you get better prepared to grow older. This is the first bionic implant for me.

When you are blessed with a life as full as mine has been about the only major event before you croak is one more operation. When I was 12 I jumped off of a fence and had a rusty nail go all the way through my right foot. Got a tetanus shot from a nurse and never saw a doctor. My mother wrapped my foot with gauze ans soaked my foot in kerosene for a week. At 15 I had a Dermoid Cyst removed over my right eye. This was the first Doctor I ever saw in my life. A large scar is still visible. I broke my only bone at 17 when I slipped and broke my right thumb. With a cast from my fingers to my elbow for 16 weeks was uneventful.

Three and a half years active duty in the Navy only left me with a crown on a wisdom tooth. The next 27 years in Aerospace got me 3 stitches in a finger when I shoved a screwdriver 3 inches up my left middle finger installing an oil filter on the engine of an F-47, WWII fighter plane when I was 22. I had half of my stomach removed due to ulcers at age 45. At that point in my life I had 3 children with my first wife and four with my second wife, Norma, who I will celebrate my 58th anniversary June 23rd.

I saved the other medical moments until I retired at 63 in January 1994. In my 46 year work life I visited 32 countries and worked in 23 and in 49 States. Flew over 4 million miles and never even has a sick day away from home. In the last 16 years I worked I spent over 2500 nights in Hotels, Motels and some strange places in remote areas of Saudi Arabia, Aba Dhabi, Dubai, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Thailand and never had a medical event.

I have been retired now over 24 years. Starting with the Golden Years my first event was loss of my gall bladder with an 11 inch scar, 12 days in two hospitals and after 4 days of 104 fever they finally operated. Some 15 years ago I spent two different seven-day stays in the hospital with high fever and blood problems before they deduced I was suddenly allergic to shell-fish. Many of the remote areas where shell-fish was the main diet would have finished me off half way around the world. It took 2 years for Dr. Jay Holleman to get my medications adjusted and I am still on the basic regimen he had me on all of these years.

My next experience as new lenses for both eyes that was a piece of cake. I was offered lifetime lenses but at a cost of $4000 I decided I would not live long enough to spend the money. That was 14 years ago and I am now buying 1.25 glasses at the Dollar Tree.

Thirteen years ago I had what appeared to be a seizure, fell and ended up falling and nearly bit my tongue off. Twenty one stitches in my tongue. Norma caught up with me in the ER in Nacogdoches. When she walked in the ER they had just finished sewing my tongue together. I do not remember anything for 4 days but she told me I raised up, pointed at her and said, “She did it”. This cost me a 3 carat diamond ring. After four days in the hospital that I mentioned I do not remember and a follow-up sleep study proved my problem was sleep Apnea. I have slept with a C-Pap ever since.

We were packed 8 years ago to travel to celebrate our 50th anniversary and at 3 am I woke up and felt like I had digested a ball of fire near my appendix. Satisfied it was serious I left Norma a note that I had gone to the Emergency Room sure it was appendicitis. She found me, mad as a hornet, at the ER. This turned out to be Diverticulitis and a few miserable days healing.

The last 8 years have been spending a fortune trying to save my teeth and suffering with pain from Arthritis in both shoulders and both knees. Drugs and a golf swing have eliminated the pain in my shoulders but my knees have been a different story. For five years my left knee was AOK. The right knee was calmed down with steroids. Two years ago the left knee started needing steroids and my right knee graduated to “Rooster Comb” shots and a trip to Lufkin every six months. Last December my shots in the right knee did not help the unsteady right knee. The Orthopedic Surgeon did not even wish to discuss surgery on this 87-year-old  person. I will be 88 on August 31st, I hope?

Well, my family doctor, Dr. Chad Moody, contacted the Surgeon and convinced him my age was an issue but my physical condition was above average for most younger. Thanks to Dr. Moody, Dr.Jason Carter will replace my right knee on June 4th. Everyone has helped by telling me stories in detail about the pain and agony of the therapy that follows the operation. I visited the therapists recently and offered bribes for painless therapy. I have purchased an empty bullet to bite on to help with the pain. I asked for a sound proof room at the hospital to muffle my screaming.

I am now feeling sure I have scared the daylights out of my children who range from 52 to 69 as well as younger folks who read my articles. I promise that after I recover I will share the agony and happiness of recovery and my trip back to playing par three golf again. Should this story end before I resume golf my ride through life has been more fun than most could ever dream about. My biggest disappointment will be I missed my final bucket list dream of being shot at 105 by a jealous husband.

Wish the medical folks that will care for me patience and compassion listening to my stories about life. Feel sorry for the families sanity helping Norma nurse me back to playing golf every day. I may write a book preparing folks for getting old when the day comes that my golfing days are over even if I last until I am 105.

Just wish me luck.

RUSSIA or CHINA…………….WHATS YOUR CHOICE?

Let me preface that I am not a Diplomat, Politician, elected for anything, a Progressive or a liberal Demoncrat. I am a conservative American who has lived much longer than most of you that are younger than 86. I enlisted at 17 and served in the US Navy for some five years during the Korean war. I am a retired member of Mensa and Intertel by passing exams that placed me in the 99th percentile of Intelligence  Quotient. I had a successful career serving in every level of management after 27 years with Lockheed-Martin, 5 years with Halliburton and eleven years starting 8 companies. I worked in 32 countries and 49 states. I started this blog some 5 years ago and I have published over 1000 articles. I am proud of my life and I have been married to my second wife for 56 years and currently have 46 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren counting spouses.

I did not write the above introduction to seek anything but confidence that I am not a blowhard or braggart. I write my articles to express my feelings, share my experiences, possibly encourage others to learn something each and every day. I receive no revenue for my work and encourage anyone to share my work as nothing is copyrighted.

I want to talk about Russia and the wild excitement expressed the Demoncrats and the Republicans in name only (Rino;s) like John McCain and Lindsey Graham who are as Progressive as the Clinton’s and used every underhanded way ever designed to get Hillary elected President. These people have created the poor people and have kept them poor for 50 years. They better have their seat belts fastened when Trump is sworn in this month. They have tried to destroy Israel just for the fun of it and it is about to bite them in the butt.

They have tried to antagonize Russia and Putin which is stupid in my opinion. I hope when I finish my postulations about the world’s future it will make sense to those who have closed minds. As a paper boy I watched train loads of scrap metal leave the Bethlehem Steel plant in Corsicana Texas  every day in the late 1930’s destined to be shipped to Japan. Why, Japan was building up the arms necessary to plunder and kill thousands over most of SE Asia. If they had not attacked America they would have likely ruled all of that part of the world today. One of the main reasons Japan conquered more land mass was they were isolated and were populating too fast for future land needs.

Watching China building man-made islands in the international waters should at least spark an interest in why. The United States is watching and spying on this massive undertaking. The American media has shown no interest other than report that China captures one of our spying devices that was identified as a scientific probe of international waters. This is just another insurance that our media is owned by the White House now. They know they antagonized the new President and will soon have to rely on much lower level government moles to get their news. President elect Trump has found that he can communicate with average Americans and the world that elected him via social media like Twitter and Facebook. People and Nations will get the same news at the same time.

While the Demoncrats fight Trumps every move domestically for the next four years the China will have less pressure preparing for the next world conflict. The building of islands in the sea is likely a smoke screen of preparations to make the same move the Japanese did in the 1930’s, again when I was a boy. They will not be looking at overpopulated land areas like Japan, Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines,  India or Pakistan. They will likely avoid  the Middle East unless a petroleum shortage is evident. What they will want is Malaysia and parts of Indonesia that are underpopulated and have petroleum reserves. I doubt that Mongolia or eastern Russia will be an early target as the weather at the equator is fan better than the winters in the north. This area will be secondary after they use all of the natural resources and relocate millions of Chinese immigrants to the South first.

I feel certain the views I have shared will be scoffed at by every liberal on earth as madness. I have no problems with China but their growth does not provide an easy way to control population needs like we have seen used by Mexico. They do not have the easy way to disburse their second class citizens into the United States like Mexico and the other Central American countries have enjoyed.

I will likely not live to see if I was correct. Inside me I pray the world will never see another war that took so many young American men in my lifetime. Unfortunately if natural disasters do not slow the Worlds eventual population growth it will far exceed the ability to feed everyone. I will not overlook the world wars or even smaller wars like the Korean war I was involved with or the war with Viet Nam that were concocted  by the politicians who had their pockets filled by the banks. The banks have caused more conflicts and wars than the Romans did several centuries ago. Read my articles about our own Federal Reserve and the scary group that still exists called Tavistock.

Now go back to sleep and watch the Demoncrats and Rino;s wriggle, scream, riot, plunder, hug trees, block highways and ignore the next potential disaster. Hopefully see Donald Trump drain the Washington swamp, create jobs and skewer the media. He appears to see that Russia is a much better partner than China to ease world tensions. I hope he throws out the United Nations or at least stop funding it totally. Unfortunately he will probably be assassinated like Kennedy by powers that have never surfaced yet. The money was there somewhere.

ANOTHER FOUR YEARS of WHAT?

We happen to be in Houston this week licking my wounds from the election and baby sitting our youngest granddaughter. So far in addition to hoping I make it until 2016, I have watched another $50,000+ disappear from my retirement savings. The future is now controlled by the Socialist Democrats as we have over half of the people living off the government. The Republicans will make one last losing attempt to stop the change to a Socialist Democracy but when they get stomped in 2014 and lose control of the house it will be all over. This country has lost its will to be free while in search of Utopia that is merely a pipe dream.

The Republican party has died by self-inflicted suicide. The radical right of the GOP has never given up on overturning Roe vs Wade even though they have to know the women will never let this happen. Their last breath will be in 2014 when they lose everything one more time.

Look at the vote of the Hispanic population and it will eventually be the biggest voting block of the future. Change  must happen and it will as they will have control of Texas in the next few years. If we don’t relax the immigration rules, the African-Americans will have to get off welfare and go back to work to educate and manage their healthcare. Without the Hispanics paying some taxes, they would be better off in the future to go back home as the welfare will be  running dry.

I did a lot of work in Mexico and the Mexican worker there is a hard-working individual and is handicapped by having a lousy and crooked government to deal with. Now we have the same lousy and crooked government here to deal with.

What prompted me to write this article was an experience at lunch about 30 minutes ago in Baytown Texas. Norma and I went to visit a 96-year-old friend who is in an assisted living home there. On the way back to our daughters house, we stopped for lunch. The only language spoken by the people surrounding us was Spanish.

I worked in 32 countries to save enough to enjoy my old age. When I was in Japan it was my problem to communicate and everything printed was in Japanese. Same thing in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Norway, etc. They had no responsibility to make sure I could understand anything.  None of these places were interested in changing their culture to satisfy my desires.

Why can’t someone in our government say whoa and explain that we accept them as Americans like we did the Germans, Polish, Italian and other immigrants that made this country great in the past. We do not print ballots in German or the other languages because these people wanted to be Americans.

I believe the American people would welcome anyone willing to work as an American. Why can’t the Hispanic people, who send most of their earnings back home, just agree to be Americans and all opposition would be softened? If they insist on changing America into a Hispanic country, they will never be welcome by the majority of Americans or by me.

We have spent billions pacifying Hispanics with special treatment and they continue to refuse to even learn our language, that is wrong and I could care less if you disagree.

I beg anyone who reads this article to comment on my suggestion, yea or nay, so some hopeful dialog will help wake up the people to demand that we establish English as our language. If we are going to have multiple languages accepted by our society, then make everyone learn Spanish and make it our official language. We are supposed to be one people, so let’s be one people again. Just do something to bring happiness back in America where people used to like each other regardless of where they were born.
