AMERICANS ARE HURTING – “CONGRESS COULD CARE LESS”!

After you read this send me a message and tell me how Congress and three vindictive Senators can take a month off when people are suffering. Our Congress is inhumane to keep the Obamacare debacle alive. I hope the voters remember every Democrat and the maverick RINO’s when they come up for re-election.

At the same time I can’t fathom why some news service does not compile a special report of actual facts of how health care costs are destroying working and retired Americans. If you hear younger Americans tell us seniors they are tired of paying for our Medicare they are not informed.

I will share some personal facts of how healthcare is effecting my retirement. I will also share two examples of the plight of two middle aged Americans, one is from my family regarding the insurance debacle. The sad part of this insurance disaster is that Congress and all government employees are exempt from the Obamacare disaster. They could care less as they have more than adequate insurance that we pay for most of their premiums with our taxes.

I retired nearly 24 years ago with one pension for 27 years service with what is now Lockheed-Martin. This provides us with a staggering $221.47 each month and no benefits. Now take a look at what Medicare provides and costs. We each pay $107.00 each month in premiums deducted from our Social Security, now named a Federal Entitlement. This is means tested and many retirees pay much more as they have higher incomes. We also pay for the first $185 of costs as a deductible or $370 total each year.

For the uninformed, Medicare only pays for 80% of medical costs and unless you are rich or a fool you have to buy a supplemental insurance policy to cover the 20%. This requires a policy just like those on Obamacare that is so-called competitive as the rates in each State are not the same. These premiums increase each year as you grow older regardless of your health. Being blessed with my 87th birthday this month and you reach this advanced age there is no competitive advantage to shop around for better rates as you are just too old. Currently the costs for Norma and I to be covered is $399.29 each month and these costs have increased twice in the past six months but who cares?

Bush #2 gave us old people another entitlement called Medicare part “D” for our drugs. This program is also competitive as you buy an insurance policy that has many options, choices and different premiums to chose from. These policies are so confusing my insurance agent for our Medicare refuses to even sell or recommend which insurance provider to buy from. As Norma takes much less prescription medication she has a policy with lower premiums and has a co-pay for her medication. In my case I have higher premiums and only have co-pay if their is no generic yet. Currently our monthly costs for prescribed drugs and premiums is about $210. In addition we take doctor recommended vitamins, aspirin, fish oil, bacteria for my colon and other assorted over the counter medical items. The Instaflex for my knees alone is $39 a month. This will easily average over $75 each month.

Speaking of my knees that are both bone on bone. My family doctor can inject steroids in my left knee every three months. I have to drive 128 miles to my referred Orthopedic Surgeon who administers three shots in my right knee every six months. Both doctors do not recommend surgery because I am just too old. Medicare pays for the steroid shots in my left knee and the shots injected by the Surgeon every six months. My main reason to include this information is to document why are there three and six month intervals. If I have to have the shots sooner Medicare will not pay for them. They cost $550 and $1800 each cycle. The doctors both told me there is no medical reason for the time periods but some bureaucrat in Washington decided that was what it would be. I do get a steroid shot in my right knee after four months as the series of shots never last six months.  

We have no coverage for dentistry work. Just yesterday I paid $210 to have my teeth cleaned and a getting a crown re-cemented in that came off when the hygienist was flossing my old teeth. Our average dental costs are $1500 each year.

Because I do not understand or trust the confusing Federal ograms I still maintain a catastrophic policy I have had for 50 years. It has a $25,000 deductible and cost $636 annually

To save you time our annual costs for healthcare is at least $13,279.00 at this time or $1,106.58 each month. Norma has not been admitted to a hospital since 1965 or 52 years ago. I have not been admitted to a hospital since 2004 or 13 years ago which means nothing for our insurance rates.

I hope those who think Medicare is free and are not government bureaucrats become aware of that planning for those “Golden Years” in advance is difficult.

Our daughter is in business for herself and is required to buy an Obamacare policy or pay a hefty tax penalty. She has not been hospitalized in the past seven years. Her policy premiums are some $800 a month and she has to pay $60 per visit any time she see’s her primary care doctor. She has no dental coverage and her policy has some other restrictions. It has a $6000 deductible clause. If her doctor refers her to a specialists the policy pays nothing until she reaches the $6,000. If the doctor send her to get any testing, X-Rays or lab work the policy pays nothing until the $6,000 deductible is met each year. If a generic drug exists they cost $5.00. If no generic drug exists the co-pay is extremely expensive. Some drugs are not even covered and she pays 100%. In the area she lives there are few choices and they keep disappearing as the insurance companies keep dropping out of the market. To keep her doctor she has been with for 25 years was a nightmare of bureaucratic paperwork.  

Can you imagine a government employee and especially a Congressperson screaming if they had a policy like hers or ours. They don’t have to worry as they are the new “Elite” class of Americans. When my grandchildren ask me what field of work to pursue I tell them either “healthcare” or “Government service”. These are the only fields with benefits as Obama killed benefits from most companies and the 40 hours work week. My son works for one of the largest companies in the world that offers no healthcare or retirement benefits to newly hired employees. Anyone who plans to live on Social Security is mindless. Why has this escaped exposure even from Fox News is scary?

I know a friend who works as hard as anyone I know. He is a maintenance worker and has no benefits. His wife also works and they have three small children. If she covers her husband and their children with her insurance she would have zero take home pay. The consequence is he and the three children must use Medicaid care where illegals have priority.

As the media or any well known journalist or commentator or even a well known Blog writer has never attempted to tell the real stories I will publish your story if desired? Maybe just one person in power in Washington might really understand.

I give up on Congress to help as they just play power games. Other matters are understandably important but to just sweep healthcare under the rug is hurting far too many deserving Americans. When two female Senators and John Mc Cain sank the repeal of Obamacare they betrayed their trust. Women I can understand are concerned about abortions and free birth control pill for even those on welfare. McCain who reversed his last vote, just voted no to punish Trump politically. Every pregnant woman who cares for everyone is still being punished because of these three Senators who hate President Trump. A really sad day for America folks when a “has been” Senator killed all hope to fix our healthcare to just stab Trump in the back. They used to call this Treason but Congress persons do not fear or support our laws they can just ignore them. Washington is broken but who cares? I do, do you? VETERANS 1, LIBERALS RUNNING WILD 0.

I volunteered at 17 over 69 years ago to join the US Navy and served nearly five years. I have never had to ask our government for any healthcare and I am now 86 years old. I did get GI home loan that was fully paid back and the State of Texas gave me a veterans loan to buy some acreage that was also fully paid back. I never asked for or received any Veterans Administration (VA) healthcare nor do I intend to.

My 40 years in the work place allowed me to earn Social Security and at 65 I received Medicare healthcare benefits. I have found that many young people believe that Medicare is free. Medicare for my wife and I along with the premiums for the Medicare supplements including Part D drugs exceed $700.00 each month. I have included this information for you to understand why I am fortunate to avoid having to use VA.

Veterans that live in rural areas are provided healthcare and drugs if their income is less than the poverty level. I will use a good friend as my example to share what he faces to get healthcare. We are the same age. If he needs to see a doctor he has to travel 60 miles to Lufkin Texas when he can get an appointment that can take two weeks. If he can be treated and medicated in Lufkin he just has to drive back 60 miles to get home. Should his condition require special testing or a specialists he must board a free bus to travel to Houston some 150 miles.

Now when illegal aliens, citizens without funds need to see a doctor they can go to the emergency room at the Sabine County Hospital and get a aspirin for a headache free. They do not have to get an appointment and they cannot be refused treatment. They have no insurance and “We the People” pay hospital taxes to provide this free service.

Congress and a parade of Presidents have allowed this inequity to exist for over 50 years. The Veterans get promises and the illegals and deadbeats get free local healthcare.

Folks, we finally elected a new President, Donald Trump, who has promised to fix this inequity. If the VA is staffed and managed like other government operations it is likely bloated and never has to be evaluated or regulated like our local hospitals. Congress and the 13 Presidents since I was born just ignore the millions of Americans that have served in our Military either by the draft or like myself volunteered. WHY?

Mr. Trump is not a politician, a lawyer, or a bureaucrat that can’t or refuses to find a job that requires performance measurements like industry. They do not have to make a profit to keep their jobs. We have agencies like the Department of Education, Energy Department that are useless like the Environmental Protection Agency that just crank out useless regulations that add nothing but costs to the products and services we pay for.

I hope and pray that Trump will not only have a performance audit of the VA but actually shut the operation down and make the VA hospitals operate like private hospitals and actually make a profit. Make Government employees work until they are 65 like we do in industry instead of retiring in their 50’s on pensions worth more than those in the work force at 65.

My greatest hope is that President Trump will choose a leader for the VA that is not a lawyer, a bureaucrat, a large doner to his election or a retired General. Officers at retirement do not have to use the VA to get healthcare. I hope he will choose a “Grunt” who has become a success or successful businessman like himself to evaluate and manage the VA.

In recent years auditing of everyday operations or even deeply complicated functions have been imposed on industry and some government operations by qualified and government approved and accredited organizations. Systems are in place to do evaluation audits of any function our government performs. When Congress and a President awaken to use this proven way to evaluate and function the government provides we will see a huge savings for duplication alone.

Trump or at least his management teams are familiar with this asset and process improvement requirements. If he can’t do everything he has promised, please do not forget the veterans. Our recent casualties in fighting wars with no possible advantage for America deserve the same healthcare as veterans of the world wars we have fought for the bankers.

I know he will never see this plea but he is an honorable man and he will help our veterans. His biggest problem will be Congress who have never cared for our veterans. If they did care we would not have over 400 organizations who beg for donations to help veterans. Sadly most use most of their donations to pay for administration that usually consume over half of the money they receive.

The VA let my good friend Bob Klosterman die at age 69 while waiting for treatment this year. He would be alive today if he could have received treatment on Medicare like I receive. Why not put veterans on Medicare and pay for their supplements so they could get treatment locally? C Brewer

HILLARY CLINTON FACTS! Part One

Watching politics for over 80 years reached a new low when Obama was elected the first time. After his re-election I was convinced that the average American has no idea what freedoms they are slowly losing or even care. My last article, “Joys of Muslim Women” will hopefully wake up enough females to at least know what their life will be like under Muslim laws. As I have stated before ladies just get ready to have your Burka ordered. For both parents of daughters make sure you are ready for them to be mutilated by law and suffer the rest of their lives.

I plan to continue this series of articles on what Hillary Clinton will enact or continue if she is elected as our next President.

GAY RIGHTS

During her 2008 bid for the Demoncratic nomination, she refused to support same-sex marriage. My how flexible a politician can be when she flip flopped and endorsed same-sex marriage in March 2013. Two of her quotes were “gay rights are human rights” and “LGBT Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones. And they are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights”.

Now she is in full support of the Obama Muslim invasion and their rights to be American citizens. Any babbling idiot fully understands that the Muslim faith does not accept “gays” in any form. One of the newest Muslim pleasures we have watched live on TV is pushing “gays” from the roof of tall buildings to see if they can soar like an eagle. Maybe Hillary will insist they get free flying lessons in America.

GLOBAL WARMING

Hillary is on record that she believes the Earth’s temperature is warming because of pollutants released into the atmosphere by man’s use of fossil fuels. She has supported cap-and-trade proposals to auction off pollution permits and using the proceeds to invest in green technology. You can be sure that “Old Bill” and her son-in-law have milked the commodity markets and are in the best position to prosper if our petroleum industry is totally destroyed by Obama. It will take the oil industry 20 years to become profitable again. You can be sure the Saudi’s will close the valves again when both the American and Russian oil industries are ruined.

Again Hillary is the “Flip-Flop Queen”. While serving as Secretary of State she also stated that the department was “inclined” to give its seal of approval to the controversial Keystone XL pipeline. At that political moment she he did not need the support from the idiotic tree hugging environmentalists who believe Keystone would result in an environmental catastrophe and increased pollution leading to global warming. Al Gore likely went berserk.

Her latest involvement was the following quote, “We’re either going to be dependent on dirty oil from the Gulf or dirty oil from Canada. And until we can get our act together as a country and figure out that clean, renewable energy is in both our economic interests and the interests of our planet, I mean, I don’t think it will come as a surprise to anyone how deeply disappointed the President and I are about our inability to get the kind of legislation through the Senate that the United States was seeking.”

Facts will be the Chinese will get most of the cheaper oil from Canada, the Saudi’s will cause the price of crude to be at least $100 a barrel again and Burlington Northern railroad and Warren Buffett can enjoy the oil transportation bonanza.

Health Care

Hillary supports universal health care, and championed her cause unsuccessfully during her husband’s presidency in 1993 and 1994. Clinton has said she still carries scars from her political battle to provide health care for all Americans.

One of her quotes was; “From my perspective, we have to lower costs, improve quality and cover everybody. What’s important and what I learned in the previous effort is you’ve got to have the political will – a broad coalition of business and labor, doctors, nurses, hospitals, everybody – standing firm when the inevitable attacks come from the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies that don’t want to change the system because they make so much money out of it”.

The record so far for Obamacare is a total disaster for Americans. Healthcare for the working person is no longer provided by the large Corporations as a benefit. The costs have skyrocketed for every American who is not a government employee including old folks like me on Medicare. I have no idea what Medicaid costs for the 65,000,000 Americans, the flood of Muslims and illegal aliens who pay nothing. Our veterans must use the Veterans Mis-Administration (VA) services which is far worse than those on Medicaid. The VA, like the Post Office, TVA, Amtrak and any other government managed operation is a total business disaster.

I had a new prescription filled yesterday to see if it will reduce the unsteadiness and pain from Neuropathy that is a life changing event. Two medications I have taken have not stopped the scare of falling again or the pain associated with the incurable nerve problems in my legs and feet. My wife and I pay over $800 a month for Medicare and the supplements necessary to avoid catastrophic medical expenses. This one new prescription costs $259.00 for my part for a 90 day period and if it helps it will be a blessing. I never expected to live what will be 86 years in August or to be viewed as a burden by our President, the media or the Congress and Supreme Court…

Taxes and the Middle Class

Hillary has repeatedly called for universal health care and lowering the costs of college tuition, raising taxes on wealthy Americans and helping struggling middle-class homeowners avoid foreclosure.

One of Hillary’s key quotes on helping the middle class by raising taxes on the wealthy: “One of the issues that I have been preaching about around the world is collecting taxes in an equitable manner — especially from the elites in every country. It is a fact that the elites in every country are making money. There are rich people everywhere, and yet they do not contribute to the growth of their own countries.”

Government Spending

Hillary raised concerns about the federal deficit and growing national debt during her tenure in President Barack Obama’s administration. One of her quotes on the national debt: “It poses a national security threat in two ways: it undermines our capacity to act in our own interest, and it does constrain us where constraint may be undesirable.”

Hillary did not blame Obama, however. Instead, she accused his predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, of running up the debt by launching two wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan, in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks at the same time he successfully pushed through tax cuts that benefited the wealthiest Americans.

Another quote; “It is fair to say that we fought two wars without paying for them and we had tax cuts that were not paid for either, and that has been a very deadly combination to fiscal sanity and responsibility.

Do any of my readers have specific subjects they would like me to focus on next? If the entire media, all Progressive-Liberals, current Republican elected leadership, tree huggers, gays, illegal aliens, prisoners, Saudi’s, some European leaders and every registered dead American have their way, Hillary will be anointed Queen next January.

WOW……………………….Guess who will be “King”.

Let me wish every father a happy Fathers Day 2016 a day early. I will be waiting by the phone tomorrow to see how many of my 46 will call me.  Maybe six?

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

My good friend Dan Fussel sent me this analogy of facts that put some interesting emphasis on how screwed up our government has become. America became the most powerful and successful country in the world because we allowed brilliant and creative individuals to improve so much creativity and success.

As our government grew and started creating taxes, regulations and focusing on what we can’t do instead of allowing the creative to help us prosper. Wal-Mart is a perfect example of how America was the land of opportunity. Now we watch Demoncrats doing everything possible to attack their success with demands we raise the minimum wage and provide fringe benefits just like they have in manufacturing things.

The liberals have killed our ability to make anything and we have watched millions of jobs flee America for countries that covet having work for its people. Folks, listen to Donald Trump who at least knows how to make money making things again. We have created a welfare class of citizens that is bankrupting us. 

Then we opened the borders to illegal aliens to work cheap but burden to give them healthcare, education and other social services that accelerate our path to financial ruin. Open your eyes and see that the future for our children will not provide them with the freedoms and success we enjoyed. Trump may be our last chance to fix the government that has gone mad with power and welfare to buy votes.  C Brewer

MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature, it is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 240 years to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 80 years to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 77years to get it right and it is broke.

War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 51 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 50 years to get it right and they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 45 years to get it right and it is broke.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 38 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our “duly elected’ (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

I know what’s wrong. We have lost our minds to “Political Correctness”!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me what is wrong with all the people who run this country!!!!!!

We’re “broke” and can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc. and the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey and now Pakistan (the previous home of bin Laden). literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medicines, and mentally ill without treatment, etc.

Imagine if the GOVERNMENT gave U. S. the same support they give to other countries. Sad isn’t it?

And the Washington elite wonder why so many people identify with Donald Trump’s message – basically all of the above – and don’t trust the dishonest self-promoting Clintons with their self-enriching positions of power plays!

AN OLD CONSERVATIVE’S DREAM!

My good friend and golfing pal, ED Johnson, sent me a message with someone’s dream. I have decided to change the names and make several modifications, additions and express what would be my perfect dream. If someone knows who created the basic outline I will be happy to give them credit. I hope to wake up next November to and hopefully watch my dreams come true.

My dream was watching the inauguration that happened and the actions on and after January 20th 2017. 

1. President Donald Trump and Vice President Ted Cruz are sworn into office.

2. In a rare event on inauguration day, Congress convenes for an emergency meeting to repeal the illegal and unconstitutional Socialist healthcare farce known as Obamacare.  The new Director of Health and Social Services Dr. Ben Carson announces that an independent group of healthcare management professionals is hired to handle healthcare services for poor and low income people. They are also assigned the duty of eliminating Medicare and Medicaid fraud.  Government’s costs for public healthcare are reduced by 90%.  Healthcare insurance premiums for working Americans are reduced by 50%.  The move saves billions of taxpayer paid dollars.  Healthcare service in the U.S improves 100%.

3. Newly appointed department of Homeland Security Chief Marco Rubio announces the immediate deployment of Troops to the U.S. Mexico border to control illegal immigration and the immediate deportation of illegals with criminal records or links to terrorist groups.  New bio-encrypted Social Security ID’s are required by every American citizen.  Birthright is abolished. All immigration from countries that represent a threat to the safety of American citizens is terminated indefinitely. The move saves American taxpayers billions of dollars. Several prisons are closed.

4. Newly appointed Secretary of Business and Economic Development Carly Fiorina eliminates more than half of the Government agencies operating under the Obama administration saving taxpayers billions of dollars. Stocks rise 100%. 

5. Newly appointed Director of Government Finance, Rand Paul announces the abolition of the IRS and displays a copy of the new Federal Tax Return form.  It consists of one page.  The instructions consist of two pages. The Federal Reserve is audited. The move saves American Taxpayers billions of dollars and increases tax revenue.

6. Hillary Clinton is in jail, where she belongs.  Her cell is directly across from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who are serving time for ‘Hate Crimes”.  She bitches at them constantly from behind the bars of her cell in what some might call cruel and unusual punishment.

7. Bernie Sanders is in the “Funny Farm” (asylum), where he belongs. His room is directly across from Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Chris Matthews and Al Franken.  They meet for tea every day at ten and discuss the success and benefits of Communism and Socialism throughout the world. They also wonder when the “Mothership”’ is going to pick them up and return them to their home planets.

8. Windows 12 is released. It is designed for humans, doesn’t try to satisfy the needs of every person on the planet, doesn’t require a degree in nuclear physics to operate and looks just like Windows 7 except it is easier to use.

9. Barack Obama flees the United States under cover of darkness and returns to his homeland of Kenya before his trial for treason begins. He deplanes on a remote jungle airstrip. It was reported that he was last seen wandering through the jungle singing “Hakuna Matata” with a chimp named “Michelle” and two monkeys named “Joe” and “Valarie”.

10. A committee is established to determine what is causing global cooling. Billions of taxpayer dollars are saved. Polar Bears and Seals were applauding the action as the enlarging ice cap was attracting too many hunters who could travel easier.

11. Dead people, illegal aliens, cartoon characters and ACORN are no longer allowed to vote. Most Demoncrat politicians, especially in Chicago, South Texas and all red states are fleeing to other states, changing their names and hiding to avoid prison.

12. The Department of Energy was abolished and the newly reorganized Department of the Interior was made responsible for the drilling, production, transportation, sale, storage and purchase of oil, gas and coal. Initial study found that America would be 100% energy independent by 2020. It was announced that any energy purchased would be from Canada and Mexico. Gasoline prices dropped to 99 cents a gallon when all federal taxes were eliminated.

13. The Department of education was eliminated and every state was notified that any person in any teaching position that made any statements to students that were in conflict with the Constitution would face prison terms. Activity to change the Constitution would be permitted but not in any classroom. In other actions public teachers would be deputized to arrest students and/or parents who do not obey written discipline guidelines.

Suddenly I woke up before I finished listing other actions that should be taken. When I have another dream I will document my dreams as Part Two. If you have suggestions of other actions that should be taken, please send me your comments and/or register them as comments on my blog.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO AMERICA?

If you have never read anything I ever wrote please read and share this with every real American possible. This is a factual story of what happened to two Honorably Discharged Veterans of the US military on Wednesday September 16, 2015. One of these individuals happens to be myself and the other I will protect his identity and just call him “Jim”.

Jim and I were both born in 1930 in Texas. I enlisted in the US Navy reserve shortly after my 17th birthday after graduating from high school at 16 in 1947. Jim was born on December 6th and did not finish high school until 1948 and he enlisted in the Army shortly after his 18th birthday. We both went on active duty in 1948. Our lives took different paths but we are both proud and loyal American citizens living out the rest of our lives in Sabine County Texas.

Yesterday we both had medical issues and how these transpired is sad, unfair, biased and should be criminal charges against every member of Congress, the military, the President and it is a reflection of how warped our values have become in America. I hope everyone running for President would be forced to explain what they intend to do about the way our veterans are being treated but only one, Donald Trump, has had the courage to even discuss this issue.

For those who are unaware, all veterans benefits are means tested and because of my successful business life, I am not qualified to get a free aspirin from the Veterans Administration for the four plus years I served a long long time ago. This article is not about me as I can afford to buy supplemental insurance. Just for those of you who have not reached 65, Medicare is not free, in fact my friend “JIM” is also on Medicare. What you may not know is what is not free. Medicare only covers 80% of medical costs and then you pay the other 20% or buy supplemental insurance. As a benchmark the costs of Medicare supplemental insurance for my wife and I is exceeds $700 a month and our deductible costs each year is over $500.

Even Medicare has limitations on extended costs and to make sure a major medical event dos not deplete our entire savings, we pay some $800 a year for a catastrophic $25,000 deductible insurance policy.

Jim had to arise at 5:30am yesterday and his daughter had to drive him to Lufkin Texas, some 60 + miles to catch a Veterans Administration bus to the VA hospital in Houston Texas. He has suffered a mild stroke a few moths ago and this was a followup visit to see the doctor. They picked up other veterans and arrived at the hospital about 10:30am. They had time for lunch before his appointment at 1pm. The Doctor examined him, found no problems and they got back on the VA bus and arrived in Lufkin at 5:30pm, drove home and he does not have to go back for a year. Tomorrow Jim and his daughter have to return to the small VA clinic in Lufkin for a visit with another VA doctor for another unrelated health issue. Another issue that was a shock to me was that he is not reimbursed for any travel as he and his wife’s combined income exceeds the means test. Listening to this story today made me want to throw up.

Yesterday I had to go to our local hospital to have test run on my legs and feet for circulation evaluations as I am experiencing medical issues that involve my balance and two recent falls that were scary. Old age is not for sissies. I left home at 12:30 for a 15 minute trip to the Sabine County Hospital some 8 miles away. They spent two hours ultrasonically testing my legs and feet. I was home by 3:30. You can easily see that my medical situation was a lot easier to take care of.

The part that makes my blood boil is an illegal alien could have gone to the Emergency Room at the local hospital with a hang nail or a hangover and would have been treated as an indigent person and guess what? Jim and I, along with the rest of Sabine County taxpayers, would have to pay for the treatment, as no one can be turned away.

Folks, if you are happy about this true scenario, you are a raving idiot. Why is Donald Trump and Ted Cruz the only ones running for President being attacked for trying to fix this inequity? America is a wreck because of politics. Watching the recap of last nights GOP debate was another disappointing waste of time. I refuse to actually watch these debates as they have become verbal sword fights between adults, well some of them qualify but watching people self-destruct live is not entertaining and no way informative. Well I suppose watching grown people making an ass of themselves may be most entertaining to Demoncrats (not misspelled)?

America has changed so much in my 85 years that is scares me that my grandchildren will not enjoy the freedoms that people like “Jim”, myself and so many other veterans served to protect that have been destroyed by politicians.  C Brewer 9-17-2015

DONALD TRUMP – PART FOUR

My reason for publishing this series is to document the factual positions that Trump has actually promised he would use to improve every one’s life in America, white, black, and yellow. He has never shown any bias except when dealing with inept individuals. There is no place on earth populated with more inept people than Washington D.C. I will repeat my reason for trying to get voters to make sure we elect a leader with a proven success record. Liking Trump is not a factor and the other individuals who are capable leaders I could support like Cruz, Fiorina, Carson or Kasich have zero chance of being nominated as they don’t have enough financial support. The rest of the candidates are pure politicians that will promise everything and deliver nothing.

If you will get beyond not liking Trump’s boisterous demeanor and focus on his agenda you will see that his overall objectives are aimed at common sense objectives that will help everyone. I don’t agree on some of his objectives or his flamboyant persona but if he can just get jobs created alone he can stop the bleeding. How many of the people running for President, both Democrats and Republicans, have created as many jobs for Americans as Trump has?  

How many politicians have we watched that have promised to fix the federal tax system? How many actually changed the system? None. Trump has promised to not only make it better for all individual Americans, but also to find ways to encourage businesses to remain in the US. He has promised to develop incentives to attract foreign businesses to move to America. His objective is to make America the most attractive place in the world to do business. Sure that is a real challenge but it is possible with a proven leader motivating Congress to perform sensibly again.

He has promised to lower the death tax and the taxes on capital gains and dividends. I have read that this would put more than $1.6 trillion back into the economy and help rebuild the 1.5 million jobs. His plan is to charge companies who outsource jobs overseas a 20% tax. He also wants to create incentives to companies that agree to move jobs back to the USA.

Trumps tax plan would allow Americans to keep more of what they earn and spark economic growth. The facts that I read reveal that his recommended personal income tax plan will be:

  1. Income up to $30,000 will be taxed at 1%.
  2. Income from $30,000 to $100,000 will be taxed at 5%.
  3. Income from $100,000 to $1,000,000 will be taxed at 10%.
  4. Income from $1,000,000 and above will be taxed at 15%.

Trump has gone on record that Obamacare is a “job-killing, health care-destroying monstrosity”. He is convinced it “can’t be reformed, salvaged, or fixed.” He feels certain that allowing real competition in the health insurance marketplace will drive prices down. Trump supports tort reform to eliminate the costs of defensive medicine and the outlandish cost of malpractice insurance. Trump is on record that Obamacare must be repealed. Based on his comments about the Canadian healthcare program I believe that Trump will support a single payer healthcare system.

Unlike most conservative writers, a plan that demands that all able bodied Americans pay into the plan is the only common sense solution to all of the problems. This would help everyone and the doctors who are having to find other occupations because of the insurance penalty. If lawyers were required to pay malpractice insurance, it might even the playing field.

Trump wants Congress to enact severe spending reforms. He pin points that it is only common sense to understand that spending more than you receives in revenue is absolute failure. He has gone on record that if America can’t stop increasing the national debt once it hits $24 trillion, no one will be able to save this country.

He has made it clear that we must cut spending. He has promised that he does not want to harm those on Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security. His plan is to revive and increase the economy by increasing the taxable revenue to pay those costs without cutting the benefits to the recipients.

Trump has documented his objection to the only solution the Democrat’s ever have, which is raising taxes. History has proven that every time they raise taxes they destroy the economy. Trump is right in his belief and history proves that when you lower taxes you create an environment to help businesses grow, hire more workers and those new workers will be paying taxes that increase revenue. This is nothing more than “Business Common Sense 101”. C Brewer

SENIOR CITIZENS BEWARE – PART TWO

Well it took me nearly four years and over 800 articles to successfully stir up a hornets nest. The “Senior Citizens Beware” article I posted recently, sharing the actual experience of a man in Arizona, finally stirred up some Liberals. The recap of his encounter with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or as it is better known, “Obamacare” flushed out some rather radical feedback. Next let me thank everyone that took the time to at least comment, both pro and con as feedback is always a sign that someone at least read your work. I have recapped some of the negative comments I received;

  1. Blatant Liar
  2. George Bush created the problem with “Medical Observations” not Obamacare.
  3. The problem with non-payment for “Medical Observations” has nothing to do with the ACA.
  4. My article is “Completely Inaccurate”
  5. I am a “hypocrite”.

You are free to read every word except #5 if you go to the published article on WordPress. I always approve every comment I receive if the language is civil, even the ones questioning my creditability and/or my sanity. The “hypocrite” accusation came by E mail from one of my golfing friends who said Lyndon Johnson was the creator of Medicare and my being on Medicare and criticizing it was dishonest.

This week I listened to President Obama stand with a straight face on TV and make the following statements;

  1. Our economy is the best shape it has ever been.
  2. Unemployment is not a problem anymore.
  3. I have elevated the respect for America worldwide as when I was elected it lower than China or Russia.

I feel sure my Progressive-Liberal critics and the entire national media would argue and complain about my wording. As usual they will all ignore Obama’s “blatant lies”. If the word “liar” had a picture beside it in a dictionary to describe what a liar looks like it would be President Obama. History will record that Obama was the most successful “Con Man” that ever lived on Earth. No one ever has or ever will be able to divide free people and destroy a nation faster than he has. He has surpassed Hitler in the speed of destroying a nation.

Let me share some facts for anyone who reads my articles, especially the ones who do not know me or my creditability. I volunteered to serve in the US Navy at 17. I spent 32 years in senior management positions for two fortune 500 companies. I started nine different businesses in three countries. I passed the Mensa Exam at the 99th percentile and was honored to be a member of Mensa and Intertel. I worked or visited in 32 countries and 49 states. I wrote a “Standard” for the American Petroleum Institute as an individual instead of by committee. I trained over 30,000 individuals in nine different countries in multiple subjects. I passed the Professional Engineering exam without a technical Degree. I received a Master’s Degree in Management with a GPA of 3.92 without an undergraduate degree. I chaired a National ASME Committee on Offshore oil and Gas Safety Valves for several years. I designed a Quality Management Systems for over 200 companies worldwide. I doubt that some of my own family know all of this.

My parents and God gave me a mind and I choose to fill and use it. I am one of very few people who actually achieved the self-satisfaction of meeting or exceeding every goal I ever set for myself. I am married to my second wife for over 54 years. I currently have 43 kids, grandkids and great grandkids, including spouses. Five are doctors, three are lawyers, several hold technical degrees or serve in management positions or business owners, one is a CPA and four are teachers or education specialists. One is also a member of Mensa and Intertel and passed the exam at 14. They range in age from one to sixty-six and I love them all.

I am fortunate to have many close friends who share their knowledge and correspondence with me that I selectively publish to share knowledge or create articles that are obviously ultraconservative as advertised by the title of my WordPress Blog. I usually try to identify my sources and I don’t or ever will question their honesty or ethics. If you disagree with my articles I always encourage and approve all comments.

Let me summarize the reason I published this article. If my writing annoys, upsets, causes you to suffer in any way, I did not make you read it. Maybe you should “STOP READING MY WORK!”

Until Obama, Hillary or other Progressive-Liberal nut cases get the first Amendment to the Constitution repealed I will write whatever I choose, whenever I choose as long as my two fingers can type. Learning requires full knowledge of a subject and I read more Liberal drivel than you would ever believe. I write to keep my old mind active and there are no charges to read my work. Like subsistence Obama provides for over 40 million lazy Americans it is free. If my writing makes you mad like it does to one of my daughters and two granddaughters, so be it.

For anyone who takes the time to read this and is older than 85, I honor you with my respect. For those younger my first wish is for you to be fortunate enough to live this long. My second wish is that you will share your knowledge and experiences with others.

Writing this article made me feel real good about the life I have lived and I hope it makes at least one other freedom loving American smile. Smiling is a way to make others smile, try it yourself.

SENIOR CITIZENS BEWARE!

It appears some of us have lived to long for Obama and the “Demoncrats” (not misspelled). For anyone over 70 life will be limited, like it or not. I received this from another old friend Allan Moore and just want to share it with as many as possible. Even though you may be younger, growing older may be government limited. Thank your Congressman that gave us the medical finger wave the doctor used to perform. My local hospital administrator commented on this and said it appeared that he should have been to the ER. She also told me there were some circumstances where medical observations could have been covered by Medicare. Regardless life for us old people will never be the same until Congress straightens out this can of worms no one seems to understand.  Seniors it looks like it’s time to get your funeral arrangements completed. Letter from a senior gentleman in Mesa, Arizona:

Dear Family, Friends, Neighbors, and former Classmates, I just found myself in the middle of a medical situation that made it very clear that “the Affordable Care Act” is neither affordable, nor do they care.

I’ll go back about seven years ago to a fairly radical prostate surgery that I underwent.  The Urologist (a personal Friend) who performed the surgery was very concerned that it was cancer, though I wasn’t told this until the lab report revealed it was benign.

Since that procedure, I have experienced numerous urinary tract infections, UTI’s.  Since I had never had a “UTI” prior to the prostate surgery, I assumed that it is one of the side effects from surgery, an assumption since confirmed by my Family Doctor.

The weekend of March 8-9, I was experiencing all the symptoms of another bout of UTI.  By Monday afternoon the infection had hit with full force.  Knowing that all I needed was an antibiotic, I went to an Urgent Care Center in Mesa, AZ, to provide a specimen a requirement for getting the prescription.

After waiting 45 minutes to see the Doctor, I started getting very nauseous and light headed.

I went to the Receptionist to ask where the bathroom was, as I felt that I was going to throw up.  I was told that I would have to wait for the Doctor because I would have to leave a specimen and they didn’t want me in the bathroom without first seeing him.

That was when the lights went out.  My next awareness was that of finding myself on the floor (in the waiting room) having violent dry heaves, and very confused.  At this point, I tried to stand up but couldn’t make it, and they made it very clear they weren’t going to let me get up until the ambulance got there.  By the way, when you’re waiting to see the Doctor and you pass out, you get very prompt attention.

Now, “the rest of the story”, and the reason for sending this to so many of you.

I was taken to the nearest hospital, to emergency.  Once there, I was transported to an emergency examination room.  Once I had removed my clothes and donned one of those lovely hospital gowns, I finally got to see a Doctor.  I asked “what is going on?  I’m just having a UTI.  Just get me the proper medication and let me go home.”  He told me that my symptoms presented the possibility of sepsis, a potentially deadly migration of Toxins, and that they needed to run several tests to determine how far the infection had migrated.

For the next 3 hours I was subjected to several tests, blood draws, EKG’s, and demands for specimens.  At about 7:30 the nurse came back to my room to inform me that one of the tests takes 1- 2 days to complete.  I asked if they (the results) could be emailed, at which point she informed me that I wouldn’t need them emailed because I wasn’t going anywhere.  I started arguing with her, but was told, “If you don’t start behaving, I’ll start taking your temperature rectally,” at which point I became a perfect gentleman.  I did tell her I wanted to see the doctor because I had no intention of staying overnight.

Now, this is what I want each of you to understand.  Please read these next sentences carefully.  The doctor finally came in to inform me that he was going to admit me.  I said, “Are you admitting me for treatment or for observation?”  He told me that I would be admitted for observation. I said, “Doctor, correct me if I’m wrong, but if you admit me for observation, my Medicare will not pay anything.  This due to the Affordable Care Act.”   He said,”That’s right, it won’t.”

I then grabbed for my bag of clothing and said, “Then I’m going home.”  He said you’re really too sick to be going home, but I understand your position.  This health program is going to hit seniors especially hard.

The doctor then left the room and I started getting dressed.  I was just getting ready to put my shoes on when another doctor (the closer) came into the room.  He saw me dressed and said, “Where do you think you are going?”  I simply said “I’m going home.”  To which he replied, quite vociferously, “No you aren’t.  I said, “Doc, you and I both know that under the “Affordable Care Act” anyone on Medicare who is admitted to a hospital for observation will be responsible for the bill.  Medicare won’t pay a cent.”

At which point he nodded in affirmation.  I said, “You will either admit me for a specific treatment or you won’t admit me.”  Realizing he wasn’t going to win this one, he said he would prepare my release papers.  A few minutes later, the discharge nurse came to my room to have me sign the necessary papers, relieving them from any responsibility.  I told her I wasn’t trying to be obstinate, but I wasn’t going to be burdened with the full (financial) responsibility for my hospital stay.

After making sure the door was closed, she said, “I don’t blame you at all, I would do the same thing.”  She went on to say, “You wouldn’t believe the people who elect to leave for the same reasons, people who are deathly sick, people who have to be wheeled out on a gurney.”  She further said, “The ‘Affordable Care Act’ is going to be a disaster for seniors. Yet, if you are in this country illegally, and have no coverage, you will be covered in full.”

This is not internet hype folks, this is real.  I just experienced it personally.

Moving right along, this gets worse.

Today I went to a (required) follow up appointment with my Arizona Family Practitioner.  Since my white count was pretty high, the follow up was important.  During the visit, I shared the experience at emergency, and that I had refused to be admitted.  His response was, “I don’t blame you at all, I would have done the same thing.”  He went on to say that the colonoscopy and other procedures are probably going to be dropped from coverage for those over 70.”

I told him that I had heard that the “Affordable Care Act” would no longer pay for cancer treatment for those 76 and older, is that true?  His understanding is that it is true.  The more I hear, and experience the Affordable Care Act, the more I’m beginning to see that we seniors are nothing more than an inconvenience, and the sooner they can get rid of us the better off they’ll be.

We can have an impact on this debacle by letting everyone in Congress know that their responsibility is to the constituents, not the president and not the lobbyists.  We need to let them ALL know that they are in office to serve and to look after the BEST INTERESTS of “we the people,” their employers, and not to become self-serving Bureaucrats who serve only out of greed.  And if they don’t seem to understand this simple logic, we should fire them. However, our vote is becoming useless!

REMEMBER: Demand your hospital admission is for TREATMENT and NOT for OBSERVATION!

SEND THIS TO EVERY SENIOR AND ALL MILITARY (ACTIVE OR VET) AND LET THEM KNOW THIS IS HOW OUR REPRESENTATIVES ON CAPITOL HILL TREAT THOSE WHO RISK IT ALL SO THEY CAN SIT UP THERE AND ENJOY ALL THE BENEFITS THEY EXEMPT FROM THE REST OF US.

Federal Benefit Check?

I received this message from a good friend today and by chance my “Federal Benefit Check” from the Social Security Administration, arrived three days late. The past several months they have been late and they were always on time for some 21 years. In addition they told me I was not in compliance with a Federal Law by not registering for an electronic payment instead of a check since 2013. I suppose I will soon be arrested along half of the older retirees in the United States who don’t like electronic payments, debit cards and don’t need a bank account.

They warn us it is easy to lose a check but Debit cards can be lost by old folks much easier than the Postal Service can lose our checks. I have received this same message each month for two years. Soon I expect  government regulations that will tell us when and how we have to brush our teeth and wipe our rears.

As I am approaching 85, life in a Federal Prison would be a lot cheaper by not having to buy food, clothes, pay to insure my health and eventually the costs to bury me. I suppose I could divorce my wife of 55 years and give her all of our assets now. Please absorb the following scenario of our government helping you that you may not be unaware of? This older lady is obviously quite upset.

 The Story

Before reading the information below, I’d like to share an incident that happened to me a couple of months ago at a Walgreens. My husband had a new prescription that cost over $200. I have the Balance Rewards card from Walgreens, which honors prescriptions as well as other purchases. So, I asked for the Balance Rewards for this prescription to be added to my Rewards account.

The pharmacist said she couldn’t because I was paying for it with an entitlement. I explained that we have never been on any kind of entitlement program. She stated that Social Security and Medicare are entitlements. I tried not to come unglued, but told her nicely that my husband and I had earned our Social Security and Medicare with money paid into these accounts each and every payday. She said she understood, but it was now called an entitlement, and I couldn’t get the Rewards points. I could care less about the Rewards points, but was livid that the government now called Social Security (that we paid into all our lives) an entitlement!

To be fair to Walgreens, the pharmacist said that there was a federal law that no one on entitlement can benefit from those payments in any way…getting reward points. Wow! The government has their hands in everything! Anyway, now please read the item below…

Unfortunately most did not, and I am one of those whose Social Security funds are direct deposited to my bank, thus, I never see the checks. Once again, our beloved congressmen are playing fast and loose with vernacular. What motive did they have for changing the name of our Social Security? I’m sure they have a plan, and it won’t be to our betterment.

Here we go. JUST REALIZED THAT WITH REQUIRED AUTO DEPOSIT, I NEVER GET TO SEE THE CHECK. ALERT EVERYONE YOU KNOW. THIS AFFECTS ALL OF US.* *Subject:* SOCIAL SECURITY becomes FEDERAL BENEFIT CHECK. Have you noticed, the Social Security check is now referred to as a “Federal Benefit Payment”?

I am writing it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it…

The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a Federal Benefit Payment. This isn’t a benefit. It is earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes. If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that’s close to $180,000 Invested in Social Security.

If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month), including both your and your employers contributions) at a meager 1% Interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you’d have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved! This is your personal investment.

Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you’d receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month. That’s almost three times more than today’s average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration (Google it – it’s a fact).

And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you’re 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.

Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (Knew) that it was OUR money they were taking. They didn’t have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn’t pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently, they’ve told us that the money won’t support us for very much longer. But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they’re calling it a benefit, as if we never worked to earn every penny of it. Just because they borrowed the money, doesn’t mean that our investments were a charity!

Let’s take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government. Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going, for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it.

*Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income.* 99% of people won’t share this. Will you? *You can bet I WILL!* I ALSO THINK WE SHOULD DEMAND THAT THEIR SALARIES AND RETIREMENTS BE CALLED FEDERAL BENEFIT PAYMENTS. THIS WOULD BE MORE HONEST THAN WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY.

I have no idea who wrote this but I hope you will share this with everyone possible. I wonder if we will see Obama, Holder, Hillary and the rest of the people like the IRS lady who ignored the laws when we all get to the federal pokey? C Brewer
