WHO RUINED THE AMERICAN DREAM?

The average American over fifty dreams of those golden years of their life that they worked so hard to enjoy. Unfortunately far too many do not take the responsibility to adequately prepare themselves. What scares me is that more than half of all Americans today depend on someone else to work and pay for them to just survive. Can you imagine the chaos when these people reach retirement and the welfare “well” goes dry? Thanks to Obama, Eric Holder and the Democrats, the Dead, those on welfare and illegals can still vote in most states but they don’t pay taxes.

Why does Congress, our President and the media ignore the basic facts that our country used to be the most creative, successful and free society to “EVER” last over 225 years. We did this because people from all over the world saw an opportunity to be free from ruling power oppression. They came here, or were raised like myself, to work hard, create their own opportunity and enjoy their dreams.

We had leaders who understood that people must have jobs to even be able to ever retire. What happened to change our government’s objective to provide opportunity to continue to enjoy our freedoms to that of just buying those votes and let someone else worry about the chaos later? Will my generation be the last to even dream about having any golden years?

The Golden years should be a time in your life when you should not have to worry about anything. Eliminate the alarm clock, walk in the park, go fishing, play golf, pray if you want to and smile when you wake up each day. Ignore all of life’s distress and the people who create it. Smile all day, surround yourself with friends and family who make you laugh. Love those who treat you well, pray for the ones who are unable to be happy for whatever reason. Life is too short to be sad or worry about anything. If our government would refocus its desire and create jobs everyone could again focus on the American dream.

Think about some important facts. There must be peace within all Americans. Every American and most legal immigrants used to understand that you are exactly where you are meant to be. All people are born to achieve every possibility that your health and mind can perceive. We are all filled with infinite possibilities that are born in yourself and others. Use these gifts to meet every objective you set for yourself. Pass on the love that was given to you. Accept the facts of any physical or mental defects you inherited and just try harder. Be yourself just the way you are.

What can you do to support the critical need to refocus our Congressional priorities, vote for those who pledge to stop the destruction of our Republic form of Government? Vote for those who promise to create jobs instead of entrenched Democrats who just promise more welfare to keep the poor people poor. Poor people and illegal aliens can’t create jobs.

Ladies, you are primarily responsible for the leaderless government we suffer with today, so I have two questions.

1. Is having free contraceptives for men and women, old and young, your prime reason to vote for Democrats?

2. Is having free contraceptives for your teen age daughters your prime reason to vote for Democrats?

Ladies, birth control is a parent’s responsibility, not the governments. Roe vs Wade is the law of the land and no one is powerful enough to reverse it now or ever. We need jobs instead of more illegals who do the work we pay lazy ass Americans on welfare to avoid that work. This is just “common sense” not rocket science.

Vote on November 4th to restore the American Dreams.

RAMBLINGS OF A RETIRED MIND!

Even children, now have the status symbol of today, a cell phone. Some wear those devices over their ear, others wear them clipped to their belt or purse and some flash them to get attention. As technology passed me by and to look cool, I disguised my hearing aid, wear a garage door opener on my belt and carry an empty i phone case when I am shopping or at public events.

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn’t like me anyway.

I was thinking that women should put pictures of missing husbands on beer cans!

I thought about making a fitness movie for folks my age and call it “Pumping Rust”.

I’ve gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That’s when your chest is falling into your drawers!

When people see a cat’s litter box, they always say, ‘Oh, have you got a cat?’  Just once I want to say, ‘No, it’s for company!’

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency. I think you should write, “A Good Doctor”!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older. Then, it dawned on me.  They were cramming for their finals.

As for me, I’m just hoping God grades on the curve.

Birds of a feather flock together . . . . Then poop on your car.

A penny saved is a government oversight.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

The easiest way to find something lost is to buy a replacement.

He who hesitates is probably right.

Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you likely have someone in mind to blame.

The sole purpose of a child’s middle name is so he can tell when he’s really in trouble…

Did you ever notice:  When you put the 2 words “The” and “IRS” together it spells “Theirs”?

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know “why” I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and a lot of the roads weren’t paved.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth. AMEN

Thanks Allan for sharing your thoughts.

SAVE FOR THE FUTURE, WHY?

My father lost all of his savings when the banks failed in the 1930’s. Never the less he taught me to aim my sights on saving for my future. There was no social security when I was born in 1930. I got my card in 1938 when I helped a blind man in a news stand at 8 years old. Americans then and now who planned for social security to provide their retirement income are mentally imbalanced.

We did not have much when I grew up but neither did our neighbors. It took me most of my life to accumulate enough savings to retire in 1994 and I have deeply enjoyed my last 17+ years. When the economy in 2008/2009 tanked it wiped out some 30% of my savings. When the second wave hit a few weeks ago I had been able to regain about 80% of my losses and the axe fell again.

Having more than my share of children and grand children to advise like my father, I also urged them to avoid some of the bells and whistles and save for their future. Nothing could be worse for me than have to rely on my heirs to get me through old age. I imagine I am not alone in my feelings. I never had to support my parents and they made it to 83 and 94 by themselves. My dad never owned his own home or a plot of land but he was happy. When my mother died at 94 she has enough resources to cover her funeral with little to spare. No one ever left me anything and nothing was expected.

When the economic downturn came I got calls from my children for advice on protecting their savings as some had followed my advice. They were aware that my savings had been depleted and expected council on what to do.

Looking back on traveling all over the world to be successful, including over 2500 nights in hotels the last ten years I worked. This work was in 32 countries and 49 states and countless flights from 9 to 16 hours in the air. I have suddenly decided my decision to provide for my retirement was possibly flawed. In addition to losing some 25% of my savings value, inflation has diminished my buying power significantly. Why?

I go to the grocery store and stand behind fully able people use food stamps, yet they have I phones, nice clothes, a decent car and usually with a handicapped parking permit. I have paid income taxes all of my life to support their lifestyles. Why?

I watch my children scrape by to make sure their kids get more education by borrowing and I have helped some of my grand children get student loans as a co-signer. Then I study how Pell grants and reduced tuition is available for those who will not work and a President and many in Congress who are proposing that the government pay to educate illegal aliens for a path to citizenship. Why?

I do not know how other successful Americans feel about busting their buns to share the wealth but I am mad as hell. Watching the politicians discover new ways to rob us of our savings to support people who won’t work is not the American dream I told my kids to seek.

I feel that our Congress and President have an obligation to serve all Americans. They pamper the very people that keep them in power by buying their votes. They spend more money finding dead people to vote for them than they do to actually help anybody.

I suppose I should tell my family to just spend all you have and when you are out of money the government will take care of you. Kids get free meals, families get free food stamps, free healthcare and free education if you do not have any resources. If this is the American way then I am glad my days are nearly over. The progressives have ruined this great country and the majority of the people really do not even care. Why? There is no longer the incentive to be successful as Washington will find a way to take your savings one way or another. Why should anyone save for the future if they have to share with those who refuse to even try to be successful? Home ownership savings have been destroyed for the next several generations by greedy politicians.

I encourage anyone to challenge my positions with facts. I hope someone out there can tell me what to tell my children about investing for their future. My good friend, Tadpole, told me to invest in gold. Those who put their life savings in gold will have their savings wiped out; it’s just a matter of time. The people will awaken someday and demand that Congress and the President stop the ill fated path to a Socialist Democracy. Decent people will always hopefully desire to have a better life without using someone else’s money.

EDUCATION- A SUMMARIZATION

For the past several weeks I have written and posted numerous articles on https://cb75948.wordpress.com . All of the articles on education in Texas have been printed in the Sabine County Reporter thanks to Stephanie Corley.

The surprises I have discovered from factual sources have been unbelievable. Unfortunately less than one percent of the source information has been found in the main stream media. Mountains of information are available on the internet and I wonder how much is read by the general public? Based on the feedback I have received, most people other than teachers; really do not care about children’s education. I suppose that parents today are too involved with other matters and expect teachers to formulate both education and discipline for their children.

For those of you who live in a state with unionized teachers and administrators, you have let the politicians destroy public education. Unions and liberal elected politicians have sold their soul at the expense of your children. It is sad to read about the waste of adequate education to feather the bed of supposed professional educators with retirement benefits that are outlandish at best. Teachers who are paid in excess of $100,000.00 a year to do nothing, because they can’t be terminated because of tenure, is stupid. Creation of Fraudulent insurance arrangements that line the pockets of the unionized teachers is shameful.

In Texas we do not suffer with unionized teachers, yet. Unfortunately a teacher must align with a teachers group if they desire to purchase liability insurance. In Texas our politicians have let the university level educators create so many shadow groups aligned with or part of the Texas Education Agency (TEA); K-12 education is being destroyed. Sadly these tenured professors and money hungry administrators have our Governor and legislators mesmerized with trying to make every student a rocket scientist, doctor, and God forbid a lawyer.

Spending time with administrators in our local K-12 district has awakened me to the fact that we have major problems in the future. Professionals at this level have not even been contacted regarding the impact of additional credits now required to graduate from high school. The majority of these children will never attend a college or university. The peer pressure of lower grade diplomas will create an increase in drop outs of academically limited students. I have not read one article in the media that has addressed this obvious train wreck. Texas politicians will never understand what they have allowed to happen if it ran over them in the parking lot.

Texas allocation of funds to local school districts is a mockery of common sense. Politicians created the mess when they screwed up the property tax system. Rather than admitting they blew it, they spent millions developing a system no one understands called WADA. This added more costs to the small school districts that I have already posted. The new STAAR testing program, that I previously reported will go down in flames but we will have wasted a billion dollars. By then the State Senators who allowed this to happen will be retired and care less. It would be nice to know if any of our legislators own stock in the testing contractor.

As the Texas legislature has yet to finalize the massive budget reductions for education, it is impossible to evaluate the impact locally for the children. I will continue to monitor the situations and report my findings.

SENATOR ALAN SIMPSON

Calls Seniors

‘The Greediest Generation’..

This person is PISSED!!!!  Wish I was the one that sent this to the beloved Senator!!!!  The isn’t a wordthat is false and I am believing that many Americans are beginning to think along these same lines……

From a man in Montana ….who – like the rest of us – has just about had enough.

Hey Alan, Lets get a few things straight…

As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS…I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63)…My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud…Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN…

I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills…I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay of YOUR debt…

To add insult to injury, you label us greedy for calling bullshit on your incompetence. Well, Captain Bulls**t, I have a few questions for YOU…

How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career? At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers? How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance? What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bulls**t, and your political co-conspirators who are greedy.

It is you and they who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers.

And for what? Votes. Thats right, sir.

You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers.

You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

By the way how do you feel, let me hear if possible.  CB
