Obama Daughters are Michelle’s ‘Senior Staffers’.

Michelle was caught cheating on her expense report. What a show of arrogance!

This information was obtained by Judicial Watch March, 2012. The administration had to be sued to get this through the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT.

Michelle Obama listed daughters as ‘Senior Staffers’ to justify her expensive African vacation and safari.

On October 5, 2011, Judicial Watch said the U.S. Air Force provided a C-32 ( a Boeing 757 ), modified by the military for the purpose of flying big-wigs around the world, to fly the First Lady and her entourage to and from Africa , at a cost of $424,142. Another $928.44 was listed as ‘bulk food’ costs per meal for the 192 on board meals for the 21 people who made the trip. Lobster isn’t cheap when you fly it around the world.

The Obama daughters were listed on the manifest as senior staff. ‘This trip was as much an opportunity for the Obama family to go on a safari as it was a trip to conduct government business,’ said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. ‘This junket wasted tax dollars and the resources of our over-extended military. No wonder we had to sue to pry loose this information.’ The nation is suffering with the economy sputtering, the national debt soaring and Obama’s economic rescue policies not only failing, but actively making things worse.

Meanwhile, the First Lady justifies an expensive trip to Africa to take a vacation and safari with her daughters by saying its ‘official business’ and even going so far as to list her children as staffers. The level of arrogance and dishonesty on display here is nothing short of shocking.

But, ‘hope for change’ – when?

This a true story. Check out these links and read it for yourself:

Thanks Ray I am doing my share to expose this mess.  God bless Judicial Watch.

Some people are Liberal because they are lazy, some because they are crooks, some because they are dumb, some because they were brainwashed and some because they are dead. I challenge any sane person on this earth to justify why we have a Department of Energy and especially why we allow what are likely thousands of other debacles like the one described in this article to exist? No one on earth can justify this insanity to continue but Congress and our Executive branch of government. These hidden waste are allowed by Congress to exist by just ignoring them. This is not just a Democratic problem and it will never be stopped until the people demand term limits for every elected official in America. If you are asleep read David Stockman’s latest article in the papers this weekend. Wake up America and scream.

Listening to the news this morning about another scandal within the DOE about how they skirt the salary limits for thousands of consultants that are used as employees peaked my interest. I have admitted that I gather most of my news from blogs as the national news media ignores 99% of wasteful spending by our government.

This snippet on Fox News enticed me to scour the blogosphere for tidbits of facts to pass on to my readers. The following is a summarization about just one facet of the total waste of having a US Department of Energy that is so bloated it should have been axed 30 years ago. I located these facts in a blog, “Maggie’s Notebook”, written on February 14, 2013. I suppose it was read locally but escaped notice from the media. Why would any American care how much is wasted by our government? Well, I do!

A Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located in Colorado, was forced to hand over documents requested by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) filed by Watchdog.org and Judicial Watch. This laboratory is 100% funded by your and my tax dollars and provide a way to hide waste and pay above government scale salaries to outside consultants and political friends.

The Manager of (NERL) is Mr. Dan Arvizu is paid nearly $1,000,000.00 million per year, He has two others that report to him that are paid more than $500,000 each. There are nine other people who are paid more than $350,000 each.

According to Judicial Watch, “federal employees” at NREL are “encouraged to” use Twitter and Facebook. Kerrilee Ann Crosby, told employees of Watchdog.org they deserved to die.

In 2010, the funding for (NERL) was a $181 million, up $40 million from 2009. NERL is a laboratory for solar, wind, biomass and biorefinery, hydrogen, geothermal, and water power. In 2010, Ampulse Corp published “A Case Study on Technology Transfer in U.S. Department of Energy Laboratories.” NREL’s job is to transfer what they learn to private companies. Ampulse worked with NREL. Remember Abound Solar, one of the U.S. government-funded bankruptcies? Abound received $70 million of a $400 million DOE loan guarantee.  When Abound closed shop, Ampulse hired Former Abound VP President of Global Sales Erik Mikysa and he is not the VP of Business Development at Ampulse.

Not only was the Abound solar project not profitable, the once-company was under investigation for “misleading investors and a bank.”

Company employees have since come forward saying Abound officials knew their solar panels were defective and sold them anyway in order to meet benchmarks, so the company could get the Department of Energy loan.

NREL delves into exciting research with our tax money. One project that we should all embrace was a “Feasibility Study of Anaerobic Digestion of Food Waste in St. Bernard, Louisiana.”

Feel free to visit their website to review more of these important projects that just “make work” for government leeches. Please remember that we were promised that waste in government would be eliminated with old “Trust me, Joe Biden”.

I wonder that if someone in Congress decided to really care about stopping this nonsense they would demand that the Department of Energy be eliminated. I feel certain that if details in each of the DOE bankruptcy scandals was made public the DOE would be gone. It would be interesting to know exactly how many cases just like Abound would we find connected in some way with the NREL. There must be hundreds of other DOE Laboratories like Sandia that was in the news today.

Does this bother anyone but me?

Thousands of American teenagers scheduled tours of the White House on their spring break this year. Unfortunately the President abruptly cancelled all White Hours tours as the government could not afford the costs. Without a doubt this was the meanest abuse of power by a politician in my 82 years of life. With no way to reschedule or receive refunds Obama ruined a spring vacation to observe American history for these kids.

Now that he can’t be re-elected, he can extend his reign of misery for most Americans, including children of the people who re-elected him “Emperor” of the Universe, or that’s what he believes he is.

President Barack Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, are spending their spring break from school in the Bahamas. The luxury of your tax money was supported by a rash of opinions ranging from comments that the girls need to relax due to all the stress of being in the White House to other comments that were extremely critical of the young girls being on such a costly trip when the nation’s economy is dealing with a severe budget crisis which has forced Obama to close the White House to public tours.

Let me refresh your memory of Malia’s spring break last year. Judicial Watch had to file suit to obtain this information as the White House fought to keep this from public view. They will do the same this year for sure.

Take a look at the following expenses of the March 2012 trip.

Ground transportation: $23,964.81

Lodging: $21,682.92

Airfare: $47,767.34

“Vouchers”: $21,636.14 (not itemized)

Support Charges: $449.66 (travel for one from Mexico City to Oaxaca, not itemized)

Total $115,500.87 plus the expenses and salaries for 25 Secret Service agents, but who cares?

This 2012 spring break trip erupted in controversy after the Obama White House ordered the removal of press reports detailing the trip. On March 19,2012, numerous online press outlets reported that the president’s 13-year-old daughter, Malia, was on a Spring Break trip to Mexico accompanied by 25 U.S. Secret Service Agents and as many as 12 of her friends. However, shortly after the press reports surfaced they were quickly removed from the Internet. The trip took place shortly after the Texas Department of Public Safety issued a statement advising students on Spring Break “to avoid Mexico.”

Last year the President of Judicial Watch, Tom Finton, asked “In these economic times, with huge public debt and high unemployment, spending taxpayer funds on a Spring Break trip to Mexico is inappropriate.  Is this what Americans are being asked to pay higher taxes for?”

The National media still refuses to report these luxurious waste of our tax payer’s money for both the Executive, Congressional and Judicial branches of our government, why? With the debts our nation faces, there is no justification for these vacations and ego trips like Biden’s recent trip to London and Paris, I recently reported.

The taxpayers owe a debt of gratitude to organizations like Judicial Watch for climbing these legal walls of secrecy that we have permitted the government to erect.

President Obama,  do what you promised the American people, “Tear down these walls”. With some hard work you can climb one notch above Jimmy Carter and be the second worst President in my lifetime.

Go to the website for them in the link below and sure enough, on the right side of the page, there is an application for food assistance PDF file in English, Spanish and Arabic!
Have we gone completely nuts!!?

Many Muslims have immigrated into the U.S. and brought their 2-3-or 4 wives with them, but the U.S. does not allow multi marriages, so the man lists one
wife as his, and signs the other 2 or 3 up as extended family on
welfare and other free Government programs!
Michigan has the highest population of Muslims in the Unites States.
When President Obama took office the United States paid several
millions of dollars to have a large number of Palestinians, (All
Muslim), immigrated here from Palestine. Why? I have no idea, do you!
We don’t pay for other persons to immigrate here, and I’m sure
that some of those Muslims moved into Michigan with the large current
number of Muslims already established there.
So now in Michigan when you call the Public Assistance office you are
told to “Press 1 for English. Press 2 for Spanish, or Press 3 for
Every time you add a new language to an American program it requires
an additional number of persons fluent in that language to process
those persons who refuse to learn English in order to live here at an
additional cost to the taxpayer! Why are we even allowing persons to
immigrate here who cannot provide for themselves, and putting them in
our welfare system?
Press 3 for Arabic ..
This is quite alarming!!! This seems to have happened clandestinely,
for, as far as I know, no public announcement, or opportunity to vote
on this was offered to the American people. They’re just adopting
an official stance, and very likely using tax-payer money for it, in
various capacities, without public knowledge or approval.
The following link takes you into the State of Michigan Public
Assistance page, (as in Food Stamps etc). You won’t have to
scroll far before you see the assistance-letters options for…(get
this)….._ English, Spanish, and ARABIC !!!
When did the ARABIC option sneak into our culture? Will we soon have
to listen to our governmental offices, stores, and other venues offer
us the option of “pressing 3 for ARABIC?”

Check it out for yourself.

I just read an interesting article in the NY Times, by Michael Winerip that makes more sense than anything I have ever seen regarding teacher improvement. I would like to paraphrase some of the highlights to share with others.

The Montgomery County, Maryland, Public School system has a program for evaluating teachers that is the closest thing to common sense I have ever seen. They provide teachers professional support if they are performing poorly and dismiss those who can’t or won’t improve.

Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) uses successful teachers to mentor new teachers as well as veterans having problems. If unsuccessful, the PAR panel — made up of eight teachers and eight principals — can vote to fire the teacher.

In one recent case, 11 of the 12 panel members present voted to follow a principal’s recommendation and discipline the teacher; in  a second case, they decided in a 10-to-2 vote to reject a principal’s recommendation and support the teacher.

Since the PAR concept was introduced 11 years ago, 200 teachers have been dismissed, and 300 chose to leave rather than go through the PAR process. The superintendent of the Montgomery County system, which enrolls 145,000 students, stated that in the ten years before PAR five teachers were fired. “It took three to five years to build the trust to get PAR in place,” he explained. “Teachers had to see we weren’t playing gotcha.”

Maryland’s state superintendent of schools stated that PAR was an excellent system for professional development. The United States Department of Education has studied the program, and Montgomery County officials have gone to Washington to explain how it works.

Unfortunately, federal dollars from the Obama administration’s Race to the Top program are not going where they need to go. Montgomery County schools were entitled to $12 million from Race to the Top, but the superintendent said he would not take the money because the grant required districts to include students’ state test results as a measure of teacher quality. He does not believe the tests are reliable. He said. “You don’t want to turn your system into a test factory.” This is exactly what Governor Perry and the Texas Legislature are imposing on our teachers, which are not only sad, but a big waste of money. Sadly everyone is ignoring the students.

Race to the Top was designed to improve our student’s education by improving teacher quality. That is exactly what Montgomery County is doing. Sad to say, the district is getting the right results the wrong way. Common sense moved out of Washington D.C. and now it is moving out of Austin Texas.

84 percent of Montgomery County students go on to college and 63 percent receives degrees. This is what President Obama said was a true measure of academic success. 2.5 percent of all black children in America who pass an Advanced Placement test live in Montgomery County, more than five times its share of the nation’s black population.

12 states that were awarded the billions of dollars in Race to the Top grants are using student scores as a measure of teachers’ worth. The US Department of Education appears gratified that Race to the Top money has pressured states to adopt this senseless approach to measure anything. The Maryland state superintendent said the administration made it clear that if a state wanted to win a grant, the proposal had to include a formula for calculating student growth. Maryland toed the line and was awarded $250 million.

The state requested an exception for Montgomery because of the PAR program’s history of success and was told that no modifications were allowed. Districts are not permitted to appeal to federal officials, said the director of the Implementation and Support Unit at the U.S. Department of Education.

So, Montgomery’s PAR program, which has worked beautifully for 11 years, is not acceptable. But the Maryland plan — which does not exist yet — meets federal standards. This is irresponsible leadership and a waste of education funding. Who loses the students?

The major fallacy of Race to the Top’s teacher-evaluation system is that it is being imposed from above rather than being developed by the teachers and administrators who will use it. People don’t tear down what they help build.

Governor Perry and the hand full of legislators who are micromanaging Texas education should visit a PAR meeting. That would be a common sense approach, long ago ignored by politicians.

Over the past several weeks I have posted a series of articles about the proposed reduction of state funds for educating our children. At this juncture I can make one solid statement that our Governor and Legislature are so wrapped up in politics; they have no concept of the real Texas education administrative costs. Most of the blame expressed by the politicians is waste at the local school district level and action at that level certainly needs focused attention.

I have spent several hours on the internet collecting some actual facts that are available for public review. Although all of the actual figures are not directly related to education, you should find some of the numbers interesting, I did. I found most of these facts at THE TEXAS TRIBUNE website.

The 25 highest paid state employees are all education related. The highest paid is Mack Brown, University of Texas (UT) head football coach, whose annual salary is $2,511,667.00 (ESPN’s website shows his salary to be over $5,000,000.00). Second place go’s to another UT coach, Richard D. Barnes at $2,916,667.00. Fourth place is Texas Tech coach, Thomas Tuberville, at $1,500,000.00. Thirteenth place is UT coach, Gail A. Goestenkors, at $930,834.00. Eighteenth place is UT coach, August E. Garndo, at $760,000.00 and at 25th place is Clarence Byme, Texas A&M athletic director at $711,434.00. The other eighteen individuals on the highest 25 paid state employees are all professors at various medical schools. Their salaries ranged from $700,000.00 to $$1,750,000.00.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has a total of 1054 employees doing something. The highest salary is $480,000.00, lowest is $21,015.00 and the average is $60,875.00. This produces a total salary only expense for the TEA of $64,162,250.00. Do they actually teach the student anything?

I found another state agency I was not aware of, the Texas Teacher Retirement System. This agency has 511 employees with the highest salary being $480,000.00; the lowest is $20,217.00 and the average of $56,116.00. This amounts to an annual salary only expense of $28,675,276.00.

The Tribune reports that there are 1154 school superintendents in Texas. Apparently some of the 1265 districts do not have any superintendents. Many of the school districts are charter schools. A review reveals that the Beaumont ISD superintendent, Carrol Thomas has the highest salary of $347,834.00. There are 78 that make more than $200,000.00; 511 earn between $100-200,000.00; 475 earn between $50-100,000.00 and 90 that make less than $50,000.00. Other than the outlandish salary in Beaumont, school superintendents are not overpaid. When you compare most to business leaders they are underpaid. The University of Texas alone has 190 positions that pay salaries over $200,000.00. The President, William Powers, salary is $511,491.00. The wide separation between the pay for a college professor and a K-12 school superintendent is another concern that Austin and the TEA have priority problems.

Wow, it would be nice to really know the true costs of education at the state level. If I had a staff to research this I would. It would be interesting to know if our Governor or Legislators had even a foggy idea of what a business would call overhead. At most only 25 of the above would ever come face to face with a student. Can you imagine what these costs would be if fringe benefits were available to review?

While I was accumulating these facts I decided to look at the entire State of Texas salary structure. The Tribune reports that the state currently has 660,000 employees. They report that we have 434,210 who have a salary up to $50,000.00; 203,795 with a salary from $50-100,000.00; 14,728 with a salary from $100-150,000.00; 2,783 with a salary from $150-200,000.00; 1,404 with a salary from 200-250,000.00; 786 with a salary from $250-300,000.00 and 2,294 with salaries from $300,000.000 to the $2,511,667.00.

By the way we pay Governor Perry $150,000.00 a year plus fringes. If every student in our universities had the brains to accumulate this knowledge, they would be idiots if they did not pursue a career in public service. You can’t blame this situation on the republicans now in power as the roots of these systems were created during democratic majority years. When you multiply this by all 50 states and throw in the education waste generated in Washington, it should tell the common folks that it is time to demand change.

What we all can do is blame the current republican leadership in Austin if they fail to understand and correct the problems that are so evident. Shifting the burden to the next generation to fix this is unacceptable to me. Are you satisfied? Please send me your comments and send your questions to your state Senator and/or Representative.

The sad part is the K-12 children are at the bottom of the priorities in Austin. That is probably because they can’t vote.

How to get Union Dues Refunds

This article was posted on Big Government.com yesterday and I am posting it today. The money is not used evenly as any moron would know and is utilized to promote the Progressive effort to “Socialize” the United States. Unions are promoting the “New World Order” to share our successes of free hard working citizens with everyone.  C Brewer

Last summer, unions spent an estimated $10 million on the Democratic primary in Arkansas in a failed attempt to defeat then-Senator Blanche Lincoln. It was $10 million worth of their members’ dues that was wasted.  Unions did not waste their members’ money because Blanche Lincoln opposed higher wages or better benefits. Union bosses wasted their members’ money because Blanche Lincoln fell out of union bosses’ favor for not by backing the job-killing Employee Free Choice Act (aka card-check).

On the mid-terms, unions spent hundreds of millions on voter registration, campaign donations, TV ads, manpower and GOTV efforts. Nearly all of that money went to union-bought Democrats.

In 1988, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that union members who object to having their union dues spent on politics can get a refund for the portion of their dues used for politics. Since then, however, many union members have found the process of getting their dues refunds an burdensome process.

This week, at CPAC, Republican Saul Anuzis (a former member of the Teamsters) announced the launch of a new website specifically designed to give union members assistance in getting refunds for the portion of their dues used on politics.  It is not “anti-union,” it is a site with one purpose—to help union members who do NOT want their dues money used

According to UnionRefund.org:

UnionRefund.org is NOT a political action organization. It is not tied to any political party. It does not run candidates for election, and it does not financially support or endorse candidates. It neither opposes nor endorses legislation.

UnionRefund.org is a project designed to help educate, organize and assist union members nationwide in exercising their “Beck rights” as set forth by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Imagine how better off this country could be if union members’ money wasn’t being used to elect politicians who care more for serving their union masters then serving all Americans.

They can’t wait until the public calms down to use other ways to deceive the folks about wasteful spending. Regardless of how many devious ways to waste money to get re-elected are exposed, they will find others. One new republican Senator discovered a method with little exposure as a way to hide extortion type pressure from being associated with him even before the election. Chicago style politics seems to have no party affiliation with even republicans being sent to prison.

Senator Mark Kirk R-Illinois won the Senate seat that Obama vacated to run for President. During his campaign he stated that he would oppose Speaker of the House, Nancy Polisi’s trillion-dollar stimulus plan. He along with many other republicans squealed loudly about pork-barrel spending and the use of designating money for special projects via “earmarks”.

Mr. Kirk understood political pressure, for example, he sent a letter to the Department of Education on September 10, 2009, asking the release of money “needed to support students and educational programs” in a local school district. The New York Times (NYT) obtained a copy of the letter from the Citizens Against Government Waste group that had obtained the copy under the Freedom of Information Act. The Woodland School District 50 later received $1,100,000.00 in stimulus funds.

The NYT reported that his spokeswoman, Susan Kuczka, reported, “Senator-elect Kirk became the first member of the Appropriations Committee to stop requesting earmarks and voted against the stimulus bill. He has and will continue to be an advocate for his Illinois constituents before administration agencies but will not request Congressional earmarks to be included in House or Senate legislation.”

Watch the weasel words as he made no mention that he would not use the alternatives of lettermarking or phonemarking which are alternatives to hide themselves from the spending. Let me show you how. Lettermarking which takes place outside the Congressional appropriations process is another way to let the Congressperson provide money back home and the money comes from the budgets approved for that government agency. I am sure that a Congressperson would not include money for that agency in the preparation of their annual budget. If you believe that, I have some swamp land you may want to buy!

Phonemarking is where the lawmaker calls an agency requesting money for a home district or State for specific projects. They should be called soft-earmarks which is merely suggesting that money be used for home projects or Hard-earmarks where they demand that funds be available for their district/State.

These are not new scams as they have been used for years. If we did this it would be called bribery or fraud. Both Presidents Bush and Obama issued Executive Orders to all government agencies to not finance pet projects requested from a Congressperson. Anyone out there really believe they actually stopped the practice? Would you say no to the people who approve your budget? No one would be that stupid.

Representative Jeff Flake R-Arizona sees merit in banning all of these practices. He has raised the issue with the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner who has not committed to banning all types of  soft/hard earmarks.

Soft earmarks accounted for billions of dollars in 2006, the last year they were examined, according to the Congressional Research Service. It sort of makes you wonder why but remember they will find another way regardless. In 2006 most were in spending bills for the State Department, US Agency for International Development and other foreign aid programs. Maybe these billions would have prevented the unemployment situation we have today!

Let me share just one example of how these pet projects are forced on the government agency. The 2010 military bill contained $2,500,000,000.00 for more C-17 transport aircraft; $825,000,000.00 for all-terrain vehicles; $732,000,000.00 for other airplanes and $500,000,000.00 for a second engine for the F-35 aircraft. The Pentagon did not request these funds and did not desire to spend the money. I wonder why it was there, do you?

Taxpayers for Common Sense found 146 such undisclosed earmarks totaling nearly $6,000,000,000.00 in 2010 spending bills.

You will find some more interesting things in my AMERICAN ROYALTY-PART 5 next Tuesday 1-4-11.

Let me leave you with a question. Do you really think that 2011 will see major change to the waste we are watching? I do not. Bring on a third-party to change Washington. The last time this happened was when Lincoln was elected and sadly it produced the Civil War, read your history, I did.
