I just read this article in Newsmax and it makes my blood boil to see how the Courts are increasingly being used to destroy people illegally. Please read my closing words and if you find the time tell me what you think of this criminal activity? I watched J. Edgar Hoover and Senator McCarthy prefect the ways to politically and/or illegally destroy people this way in my lifetime. I never dreamed that they must have been raised in Austin Texas.

DeLay: ‘Dangerous’ for Left to Use Courts to Destroy Opposition

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay says while he is relieved that he was “exonerated” by the Texas high criminal court he is concerned about the left using the legal system to go after its opponents.

“I had a great day yesterday in that the highest criminal court in Texas, the Court of Criminal Appeals, upheld the ruling of the 3rd Court of Appeals in that they totally exonerated me,” DeLay told J.D. Hayworth on “America’s Forum” on Newsmax TV Thursday.

“They said that I should’ve never been charged in the first place,” he explained. “They said that I shouldn’t have been indicted.”

“It was a great day,” he added. “Nine years of going through this mess is over.”

The former Texas Congressman was charged in 2005 with money laundering allegations and convicted in 2010 by a Texas jury. In 2013, the 3rd Court of Appeals overturned that conviction, a decision which was upheld Wednesday by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

DeLay has said from the beginning that the allegations were politically motivated.

“It took five years for me just to get to trial after being indicted on a law that doesn’t exist in Texas,” he said. “Then, I was convicted by a liberal jury from Travis County, not even my home county in Texas, and sentenced to three years in prison.”

The former House Majority Leader credits his Christian faith for helping him get through it.

The Texas Republican said that it’s a problem that the left uses the court system to attack its opponents.

“Any ethics questions are just a detriment to the reputation of that elected official” who is charged, DeLay explained.

“That’s what the criminalization of politics as a political strategy is all about,” he said.

“The left just wants to get the headlines in the papers and the top story on television that you’re a corrupt individual, and they go to work on it,” he added.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Republican, was indicted in August for abuse of power for allegedly using a funding veto with the intention of forcing a local prosecutor to resign.

DeLay says that Perry “needs to understand this is a political trial that he’s about to go through.”

“Hopefully the judge will throw all this nonsense out, but Rick Perry is going through exactly what I went through with the same people,” he explained.

“This is the criminalization of politics and it’s not just Rick Perry,” the former congressman argues.

“I contend that Gov. Bob McDonnell in Virginia is going through the same thing,” he said. “He may have done some stupid things, but he didn’t do anything that was criminal.”

“Scott Walker is going through it, the governor of Wisconsin,” DeLay explained.

“This is having a huge impact on our politics,” he contends. “It puts the fear of God in elected officials — they don’t want to stand up and fight for what they believe in because they’re scared to death they’ll get their heads knocked off by going to prison and having their families destroyed.”  

“This is really, really dangerous what’s going on out there.”

In a separate interview Thursday on “The Steve Malzberg Show,” Delay said conservatives have been targets for unfair prosecution for years.

“It’s just starting to elevate itself to a higher and more visible office … This is a political strategy that the left imposes and when they can’t beat you at the ballot box or beat you on the floor of some legislature or beat you as a governor, this is what they do,” he said.

“I call it criminalization of politics. It’s a political strategy and it’s undermining our system of government, it is deterring people from running for office.

“It’s putting the fear of God in elected officials not to stand on policy for fear of getting their heads knocked off. It’s an abuse of power in our justice system to use the judiciary for political gain. But, it is a political strategy and to be honest with you it’s working.”

Regardless of your political beliefs using the courts to destroy anyone is “CRIMIMAL JUSTICE” that has gone unpunished far too long. This has been a Progressive-Liberal tool since I was a boy. Being a Texan I personally do not like Tom Delay or Rick Perry but allowing a drunk Liberal and a crooked Liberal Judge allow the recent attack on Perry is criminal. Did you ever wonder why the majority of lawyers are Liberal? I have three of them in my family that I am ashamed of.

House conservatives expressed dismay with Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department for all but ignoring the law in cases involving criminal sentencing and the legalization of marijuana.

Holder, testifying before the House Judiciary Committee, declared both the president and attorney general have “a vast amount” of discretion in prosecuting laws on the books, The Hill reported.

“But that discretion has to be used in an appropriate way so that you are acting consistent with the aims of the statute but at the same time making sure that you are acting in a way that is consistent with our values, consistent with the Constitution and protecting the American people,” he said.

Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., reamed Holder’s reasoning, saying such “selective non-enforcement” is tantamount to ignoring the law.

“The Justice Department’s decision not to enforce the Controlled Substances Act in states whose laws violate federal law is not a valid exercise of prosecutorial discretion, but a formal department-wide policy of selective non-enforcement of an Act of Congress,” Goodlatte said.

Under Holder’s

“Smart on Crime” initiative, the Justice Department has changed charging policies involving mandatory minimum sentences for certain nonviolent, low-level drug crimes.

“This commonsense change will ensure that the toughest penalties are reserved for the most dangerous or violent drug traffickers,” Holder stated.

Chairman Goodlatte countered, however, that the changes put federal prosecutors at odds with the law.

“The attorney general’s directive, along with contradicting an act of Congress, puts his own front-line prosecutors in the unenviable position of either defying their boss or violating their oath of candor to the court,” he said.

The Hill noted committee Democrats are in favor of the changes, with Michigan Democratic Rep. John Conyers, the panel’s top Democrat, pointing out almost half of all federal inmates are serving time for drug offenses.

Holder also came under fire from Republicans for the Obama administration’s much-debated decision to delay the Obamacare employer mandate, getting into a terse exchange with Ohio Republican Rep. Steve Chabot, who maintained the executive branch had no authority to delay the mandate.

“When Congress puts effective dates in laws, do we need to further state that the effective date cannot be waived or modified by the executive branch, or is the president required to follow the law, and also follow the dates set by Congress?” Chabot asked.

“The president has the duty, obviously, to follow the law,” Holder responded, but added “it would depend on the statute” and statutory interpretation of the law.

Holder said the Department of Justice provided legal analysis to the administration regarding the delay, but that his agency doesn’t discuss those arguments publicly.

IRRATIONAL REVENUE SPENDERS

The IRS just can’t seem to care about costs. It should be no surprise as they can steal enough from the conservatives and make millions for their lawyer friends who donate the money to Congress to protect them. Can you believe that an Inspector General is reporting that the IRS spent about $50 million to hold at least 220 conferences for employees between 2010 and 2012?

Newsmax reported that the Treasury Department’s inspector general will release this report on June 4th. They reported that the department issued a statement Sunday saying the administration “has already taken aggressive and dramatic action to reduce conference spending.” WOW!

Three congressional committees are investigating, a Justice Department criminal investigation is under way, President Barack Obama has replaced the IRS’ acting commissioner and two other top officials have stepped aside.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Chairman of one Committee has released excerpts of congressional investigators’ interviews with employees of the IRS office in Cincinnati. He stated that the interviews indicated the employees were directed by Washington to subject various conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status to tough scrutiny.

Rep. Elijah Cummings D-Maryland, said none of the employees interviewed have so far identified any IRS officials in Washington as ordering that targeting.

One of these two Congressmen is lying which is nothing new and the media will bury these stories until the whole thing is forgotten.

Democrats are allowed to lie when they control any branch of government and always have. Republicans never have the gonads to actually vote to put any elected or appointed official in jail for breaking the law. With Eric Holder selecting which laws to enforce on Republicans only, it just stays business as usual in the Washington sewers. Changing control of power allows the Democrats to make the Republicans look like idiots as they fight each other.

Newsmax also reported that just one conference spent $4 million for an August 2010 gathering in Anaheim, Calif. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee reported the IRS did not even negotiate lower room rates, even though that is standard government practice.

Some of the 2,600 attendees received benefits, including baseball tickets and stays in presidential suites that normally cost $1,500 to $3,500 per night. In addition, 15 outside speakers were paid a total of $135,000 in fees, with one paid $17,000 to talk about “leadership through art”.

Last Friday, the new acting commissioner, Danny Werfel, released a statement on the forthcoming report criticizing the Anaheim meeting.

“This conference is an unfortunate vestige from a prior era,” Werfel said. “While there were legitimate reasons for holding the meeting, many of the expenses associated with it were inappropriate and should not have occurred.” WOW!

You would think that this would have occurred before the money was spent like a business would do. It just proves that our government has no requirements or intentions to function with common sense or like a business.

I am and will always be critical of our government, regardless of who is in power, especially when they ignore their responsibilities to function professionally. It matters not “who” screws up, it matters a lot that we never find out “why” and that “no one” ever gets fired.

Please don’t faint, I am elated to give praise and applaud everyone in US government service during my nearly 83 years of life. They are the World Champions at “Lying, Wasting Tax Money and Making Excuses”.

LAWLESS GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES!

 “Someone do something, now! Why are the Republicans in Congress afraid to stop the IRS invasion of privacy and destroying God-loving Americans lives?

This unconstitutional use of government power has to be stopped. If Congress has no desire to protect people’s rights they “MUST” be replaced. How can the Supreme Court sit on their robed asses and watch the government-run wild. The President will do nothing but appoint people who have not only skirted the law but like himself, lie to Congress and the people repeatedly with no fear of the law. We now have a “Un-Justice Department managed by a bigot so filled with hate for whites and Christians that he has no ethics or honesty for our freedoms. Why?

Soon the IRS will be hiring 15,000 storm troopers to compile the financial, health conditions and personal information for all Americans under Obamacare. This will include your religion, political choice, doctors you go to and other personal information that was confidential before Obama, Reid and Polosi choose Socialized medicine for all of us. The new IRS Director for Affordable Care is a seasoned IRS official. Unless she is a deaf mute, she had to know what was happening under Lois Lerner and did nothing. The IRS has apparently become the CIA for domestic harassment.

Ms. Lerner ran the IRS tax-exemption office which has been illegally targeting conservatives. She previously presided over a lengthy investigation of the Christian Coalition when she headed the enforcement office at the Federal Election Commission. Ms. Lerner applied the same techniques and covert verbal procedures she used in the FEC investigation in the late 1990s to gather information from conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.

The FEC investigation she devised cost the Christian Coalition hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend itself against allegations that it was coordinating issue-advocacy expenditures with a number of candidates running for federal offices. The nonprofit group was required to produce large numbers of documents, lists of donors, its legislative agenda, and even details about prayer meetings the Weekly Standard reported this week.

James Bopp Jr., lead counsel for the Christian Coalition at the time, told the Standard, “We felt we were being singled out, because when you handle a case with 81 depositions you have a pretty good argument you’re getting special treatment. Eighty-one depositions! Eighty-one! From [coalition head] Ralph Reed’s former part-time secretary to [former President] George H.W. Bush. It was mind-blowing.”

The Christian Coalition ultimately was absolved of any wrongdoing, according to the Standard, because the FEC failed to produce proof to support the allegations.

Ms. Lerner was on Capitol Hill Wednesday, where she was called to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee about her role in the IRS decision to target conservative groups for heightened scrutiny.

However, she refused to answer questions, invoking her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, while a Justice Department investigation of the targeting effort proceeds.

Ms. Lerner testified under oath to Congress on Wednesday that she had done nothing wrong in the episode, and then invoked her constitutional right to refuse to answer lawmakers’ questions.

Ms. Lerner defended herself during a brief appearance before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The committee is investigating the agency’s improper targeting of tea party and other conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, and Lerner oversees the IRS office that processes applications for that status.

“I have done nothing wrong,” said Lerner, sitting next to three other witnesses and reading from a written statement. “I have not broken any laws. I have not violated any IRS rules or regulations and I have not provided false information to this or any other committee.”

Lerner then said she would invoke her Fifth Amendment right to avoid incriminating herself. Nine minutes after she began speaking, committee Chairman Darrell Issa, a California Republican, excused her which was inexcusable for not allowing members to ask her questions for the record. Why.

The new interim Director of the IRS replaced Ms. Lerner this morning and placed her on administrative leave. For those who are unaware, this means that she will now be paid $172,000 a year for staying home. This equates well over $100.00 and hour when benefits are included. This is the usual way of getting government employees out of sight until Congress forgets about the felonies she committed. She will surface again, probably promoted, in another government agency and continue her hatred attacks on conservatives and christians. 

Government employees, Congressmen, the President and all of his army of appointees do not have to obey the law. Why?

OBAMACARE FACTS!

A recent article in Newsmax written by Jim Myers revealed some significant facts about Obamacare. As I have written several articles on this subject I wanted to share this with those who have followed the subject. Facts are Facts, regardless of the bias of the national media. This is the reason I gain my knowledge from the blogs that just report facts.

“The Price of Obamacare’s Broken Promises,” was prepared by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Majority Staff; Senate Committee on Finance, Minority Staff; and Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Minority Staff.

“Studies and analyses from the Congressional Budget Office, independent actuaries, state insurance commissioners, health plans, benefit consultants, and others have reached the same conclusion: Obamacare will significantly increase premiums,” the congressional report states.

“Some estimates show some Americans facing startling premium increases of 203 percent because of the law.

“Higher healthcare premiums are the last thing single young adults and working families can afford. Yet contrary to what the president promised, that is exactly what Obamacare is projected to do.”

When Obamacare’s most costly requirements go into effect in 2014, households earning as little as $46,000 a year will receive no premium assistance, yet will be forced to accept “unaffordable” premium increases, according to the report.

The Affordable Care Act will have an especially harsh impact on young Americans ages 21 to 29 — those with individual coverage will see their healthcare premium rise by an average of 189 percent.

The report points to several factors that will result in significantly higher healthcare costs for Americans:

The healthcare reform bill mandates that individuals pay the same premiums regardless of future anticipated medical expenses, leading to sharply increased premium costs for those under 50.

Obamacare requires that individuals purchase coverage that includes a range of “essential” health benefits, including coverage for preventive services, chronic disease management, and rehabilitative services, thereby restricting consumers’ choice in the design of their health plans and adding to their insurance premiums.

The law imposes $165 billion in new taxes and fees on health plans, drug manufacturers, and device makers, and these costs will be largely passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums. One study cited by the report predicts that Obamacare’s health insurance tax will boost premiums by more than $7,000 over a decade.

The report notes that a number of states have already imposed requirements on health coverage and the result has been fewer choices and higher premiums.

In New York, for example, a 30-year-old male paid an average of $1,200 a year in annual premiums in 1993, but one month after the state passed Obamacare-like reforms, premiums soared to $3,240.

At the time Washington State passed similar reforms, 19 insurance carriers wrote policies for state residents. Within six years, only two carriers remained in the state.

According to the report, even the left-leaning Center for American Progress acknowledged that “Massachusetts along with several other northeastern states passed insurance market reforms similar to those in the Affordable Care Act, eliminating or restricting the ability of insurance companies to discriminate against the ill either in prices or coverage exclusions. The result in each state was very high non-group insurance prices.”

The congressional report also warns, as others have previously, that Obamacare’s requirement that insurers cover pre-existing conditions will allow many relatively healthy Americans to delay buying insurance until medical attention is needed, thereby leaving less healthy individuals in the insurance pool and raising premiums.

The report concludes: “Taking into account empirical evidence from past state-level experiences, as well as future projections, upon implementation Obamacare will make coverage dramatically more expensive and un-affordable for individuals and families.

“In short, Obamacare breaks its core promise to make healthcare coverage affordable as Americans across the country swallow higher premiums. For young adults to middle-class families, higher premiums will soon be the harsh reality of Obamacare.”

CONSERVATIVE THOUGHTS

I was urged nearly two years ago to start this blog by a great friend who enjoyed reading my letters to our weekly newspaper. He has been one of the few people, including my family, to take the time to comment on my postings.

I have always been interested in current events and until this year I avidly watched the national news media. Now that Fox news has joined the other networks in slanting the news I gather my knowledge from the internet. I dropped my subscription to the only daily newspaper over a year ago. Friends send me “E” mails and I gather most of my news from Townhall, Newsmax, Patriot Post, the Blaze and other blogs.

This article will be my 408th post and I am proud to say it might entice the 12,000th person to read my work. I currently have 43 individuals or blogs that follow my work and they are the reason I keep writing.

My friend Ron just sent me a copy of the last article written by Charlie Reese who retired last year after 49 years, I will paraphrase some of his “whys” and add a few of my own.. It bothers me that we all know how bad things are in politics but we lack the courage to eliminate the cause. All it takes is common sense of the people as we will never see it applied by politicians.

Why are politicians the only people in the world who create laws and regulations, ignore them individually and then campaign against what that they created to get re-elected? 

Why do we have debt and deficits if both the Democrats and Republicans are against them?

Why are Democrats against inflation and higher taxes for everyone, except those who create jobs?

Why do Democrats create inflation and taxes that are so excessive we can’t compete worldwide? Why would any sane person or company invest or expand their business when you can’t compete because of regulations and taxes. It is plainly obvious that the Democrats desire to create class warfare rather than jobs. That is the easy way to get re-elected.

Why does President Obama refuse to act like a business CEO and work with the House of Representatives where all Revenue and taxing legislation must originate?  We the people don’t propose a federal budget, the President does.

Why does the Republican controlled House of Representatives vote to provide funds for the EPA, Departments of Energy, Education, Labor, Homeland Security, Health & Human Services and the Justice Department? If they have no funds they can’t waste money foolishly as they do every day. We know they do because our Congressmen tell us every day on the news.    

Why do one hundred Senators, 435 Congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices who are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible allow the domestic problems that plague this country?

Why do we allow the Federal Reserve Board to ignore their authorized power to provide a dollar that is worth a dollar?

Why do we allow the special interests and lobbyists, who have no statutory authority, the ability to coerce a Senator, a Congressman or a President? I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. One thing is certain we can’t stop these elected officials from lying, cheating, profiteering and evading taxes. What separates a politician from an average American is greed and power.

Why can’t a nation of 330 million replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility?  Can you think of just one single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people?

Why are our tax codes unfair?  Because the 545 in power want it to be unfair.

Why is the budget in the red? Because the 545 in power want it in the red.

Why are our military forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, South Korea, Japan etc.? Because the 545 in power want them in these places. 

Why do government employees receive an elite retirement plan instead of Social Security like the peasants? Because the 545 in power want it that way.

Why do we let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take away this power?

Why do we allow them to con us into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics”, that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do?

Why don’t the people hold them accountable? They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people, the electorate that put them in office. 

Why can’t Americans vote out these incumbent politicians who vote to raise taxes and borrow from foreign governments to fund social programs?

Please vote for politicians who support term limits for all federal politicians; we already have them for the President, why not for Senators and Representatives?

What you do with this article now that you have read it… is up to you. 100 years ago our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell ‘politicians’?

MUSLIM WEDDING RULES

I just read an article in Newsmax, by Steve Emerson, titled “Muslim Marriage Guide OK’s Wife Beating”. It summarizes a book titled “A Gift for the Muslim Couple”, written by Hazrat Maulana. The focus of the article and the book is how to beat and control your wife. I will share some passages from the book.

The husband can; “Forbid his wife to leave his house without his permission’”; She must fulfill his desires”; “She can’t allow herself to be untidy”; She should beautify herself for him”.

The book also says, “it might be necessary to restrain her (one’s wife) with strength or even threaten her”. It also includes that the husband should, “refrain from beating her excessively”.  But he is permitted to, “beat by hand or stick, pull her by the ears, verbally scold her or withhold money”

I wonder if all of the women’s rights organizations in America have endorsed this book or made their members aware of what the future holds in a Muslim America endorsed by our Muslim President. I encourage every woman to become aware of the transformation in Europe as we are on a similar path at warp speed.

Realizing that the book might be overly biased, so I decided to visit eHow.com to see what other information was available. I will share some requirements for a Muslim marriage written by Tola LaForce, an eHow Contributor.

The Muslim marriage has a strict set of rules that must be followed. Many of the restrictions and rules that the Quran provides to Muslims have to do with marriage. The Muslim people hold the union between a man and woman sacred. There are a variety of rules and obligations that Muslim people must abide by. The marriage, or Nikah, is considered a legal contract that dictates how the couple hold their ceremony and how they act before and after the marriage has taken place. To the Islamic people marriage is more than just a bond of matrimony. They think of it as religious duty and social necessity.

Muslim rules state that any girl that is to be married must be a virgin prior to the ceremony. Men are supposed to be virgins also, but it is difficult to determine the fact. A woman who is thought to have lost her innocence prior to marriage risks being returned to her family and will not likely have the chance to get married again.

The purpose of a marriage to the Muslims is to provide each other with love, company, children and tranquility. Marriage is to serve as a means of both sexual and emotional fulfillment that should relieve any tension that is felt from everyday life. It is an agreement, or mithaq, between the couple that must be entered into with full and total commitment. Marriage is considered to be obligatory in the religion, and a man is said to have not filled his religious responsibilities fully until he marries.

In the Muslim religion the husband is responsible for maintaining his wife’s needs. This rule is established by the Quran and Sunnah, or habitual practice. The husband has to bear the financial responsibility of taking care of the wife and making sure that she has security both mentally and physically. The wife has the rights to clothing, medication, food and lodgings as provided by the husband. The lodgings should provide for her comfort, privacy and independence. A wife who is too sick to perform her household duties is to be supplied with a maid by the husband. Along with all of this, a husband has to treat his wife respectfully and with kindness at all times.

The main duty of the wife to the husband is to ensure that the marriage is happy and peaceful. She must attend to her husband’s comfort at all times and take care of his health. A wife must always be trustworthy and never commit any deceptive acts upon her husband. No other person is allowed access to her sexual intimacy and she is not to entertain strange males in the home without the knowledge and consent of her husband. A wife cannot ever accept gifts from other men without a husband’s prior approval and cannot dispose of anything without consulting her husband first.

Obedience is a vital factor in the Muslim marriage, but it is not meant as an issue of control. Obedience is put into place to keep the family unit safe and intact. The Muslim faith believes that it helps to keep everything running smoothly and peacefully. A husband has the right to be obeyed as he is the leader of the family, but the wife is still equal to him in every way. Obedience is only to be maintained when it falls under the issue of the husbands rights.  WOW
